OK...further info....I fired up GT5 on November 29th (as per Stealth downloads). On Dec3 I acquired a silver RUF BTR with approx 75 miles. It now has 95 miles and 5 wins under it's belt....My day 1 falls within master day 22....

But no BTR shows up in the UCD until master days 426 and 435 (the 2 Blue BTR's mentioned earlier which I just passed through in another account, one of which I bought...that car has 29.8k miles.....

I will cycle a new account through those early RUF listings, perhaps one is mislabled...

I have no idea what level the car is, but I distincly remember the disappointment of receiving a Wills(?) with my Level 5 ticket....so it wasn't that...in 4 days I doubt I received a 1000 ticket....

EDIT: Nope, next available RUF was a CRT2...as advertised.....

The BTR is level 9. Is it a level 9 ticket you get for completing the second tier of events? If so, does your Amateur Series Complete trophy date tie in with the BTR's acquisition date?

I'll check in a minute and edit this post....

Can't seem to access that information...my log only goes back to Dec 20th...

I've filled the gap between master-days 1167-1212

https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AkKVFQSqKBCudGdxaTJycmhtTnRZSjduZkdlUzlBUFE&hl=en&output=html

However, Tornado - I think that your data from master-day 1212-1217 needs to be moved down one row in the master list. I have one additional car in my list than there is room for in this gap. I believe your data should start on spreadsheet row 7272 - rather than 7271. It looks like you just pasted your data in one row too high, as you do have 30 cars in your chunk - but they do appear to start one row higher in the master-day hextet than your previous blocks of cars.

I have moved your data down one row in my spreadsheet so the additional car can be entered - that row is indicated Blue in my spreadsheet.

All other cars in your list for those days match with mine.

If you view your GT5 trophy list from the XMB each one you've obtained will have a date against it. I think there's a good chance your differently coloured BGT was a level 9 ticket prize though.

Yep, you're right....completed level 9 12-03....

With a-spec auto grind I have completed almost 3000 game days and I haven't found match for previous days.

Sometimes I see up to four cars in same sequence as previously, sometimes there is only few "wrong" cars between previously known sequences, sometimes cars are in same sequence, only in reverse order. Haven't been able to recognize any pattern in reappearing sequences, sometimes familiar seq is from my game day 100, next time from game day 950 and then from 470.

Not to take steam out of anyone's engine, but the list seems to be quite long and documenting it all will be tedious task. The list could easily be 10000 days long, they have just limited starting point to small range of days, which is quite easy to program with mod-function.

Fastas after weeks of searching your car list. Finally your day 615 and my day 574 match up. But the interesting thing is none of the days before match. Im up to 579 now and we still the same. Question should b asked is your day 615 the start of the new rotation or just random i started matching there.

Hi unslow and welcome to GTPlanet.

It's interesting and some what baffling to read this! As far as I'm aware, and I do check regularly, I have seen no obvious repetition of cars yet in my game. Nobody here has figured out how the used car dealerships (UCD) work and as far as I'm aware, this is the first instance that something like this has happened.

I have recorded some 1600 days and I've yet to encounter every standard car model that is in the game (assuming all standard models will appear in the UCD). This leads me to believe that a cycle will only complete when all cars have appeared.

I would be interested to hear how your UCD progresses and if it continues to match with the data I've seen. Would it be possible for you to create a new psn account too and let us (in this thread) know what your initial UCD list looked like?

Fastas

Which cars are you missing? Lancer Evolution IV Rally Car '97 was the only one I didn't find from UCD, I tracked down UCD every five races until my game day ~ 1700.

Below are the last ten cars I bought:

(last one bought = 1. and so on)
1. Mitsubishi - Lancer Evolution IV Rally Car '97
2. Acura - HSC Concept '04
3. Pagani - Zonda LM Race Car
4. Chevrolet - Corvette C5-R (C5) '00
5. Honda - NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car
6. Audi - R8 LMS Race Car '09 * is a price car from a-spec 4h nurb
7. Nissan - 350Z Concept LM Race Car
8. Spoon - Civic Type R (EK) '00
9. Volkswagen - W12 Nardo Concept '01
10. Volkswagen - Karmann Ghia Coupe (Type-1) '68

No doubt there, the documented data has been helpful for many people, me included. More power to people who are still making effort to document UCD.

All I am saying that we might not see the list(s) cycle any time soon and documenting it all will be a major pain in the ***. If I continue a-spec auto grind to level 40, I will have around 4500 game days. There isn't many races left after that to do, I will probably never exceed 6000 game day, even if I were to do much online racing.

If I were a programmer and wanted to make it hard to reach the end of the list, I would make the list so long that it is practically impossible to reach the end, maybe at least 50000 days long.

I highly doubt that many people will ever exceed even 20000 game days, for example it will take 111 days of 24h a-spec auto grind to reach 20000 game days. And that is just 111 days to reach 20000 days, just to verify once and while for possible matches would require more time.

To document every bit of 20000 days would be just plain nuts, when I was documenting my section, it took around 15 minutes to cycle 5 days and document it, so 3 minutes / day. 20000 * 3 = 60000 minutes = 1000 hours ~ 40 days working 24h/day, let's say one was able to do that for 8 hours per day ~ 120 days.

Only way that I ever see the whole UCD documented is working parallel, one user takes care of days 0-100, second days 100-199 and so on. There are not so many people contributing, total of 19 different people have contributed, of those only 9 have documented over 100 days, with top three guys have done 420-480 each. Personally my motivation to document anything dropped to near zero once I found all the cars I was looking for, I suspect that to be the case for most people.

I believe you have already stated your opinion on this however, I am choosing, rightly or wrongly, to continue. You don't seem to grasp the reasoning behind it or the precedents and logic that would suggest the contrary to your thoughts.

I have collected over 1600 days personally, some way over what you just posted; considering you quoted my post from yesterday declaring this I wonder what your point is. I don't even need the amount of time you state to record the info. Please can you clarify if you know something that I don't in regard to the game, such as if you are an insider from PD?

I imagine I will be playing this game for some years to come, I've played the series for the last 14 or so years and don't think I'll stop any time soon. With every game I have been keen to know where, when and if I can get any particular car and found the UCD info from GT4 incredibly useful despite only finding it about two years ago.

Thinking about it, I must have completed (100%) GT4 on at least five occasions, the last time with the UCD data which really helped me motor through the game (pardon the pun). I, however, am in no rush to complete this game and I'll continue to plod along with it at my own pace and in a fashion that suits me.

Now with this GT5 data I might restart my game and be able to plot my car purchasing path. By sharing it I hope it can be of some use to others as well. If I have to wait 20,000 days to find a Jaguar XFR then so be it, and I'll record it on that day so I know in the future that if I want to buy another one I won't have to look any time soon into a new game.

Acura HSC Concept is the only one I bought from UCD. Buick, HPA and Jaguar are prize cars. I got Evo IV from rally ticket, after I got bored looking for it from UCD (for about 100 game days). I don't remember how I got Opera S2000, either via ticket or bought it from UCD. Edit: must have won it via ticket as I got it 29/11/2010

The Opera S2000 is the prize car for attaining the bronze trophy in the Special Licence events.

I have no problem what you choose to do. I fact I am thankful you have documented so many days, it has helped me a lot.

I got my numbers from the Tornado Alley's compiled list, I wasn't aware that you were still recording and sharing your data. My mistake, sorry for that.

I have no insider info on the game nor am I any way connected to PD, just a regular guy with too much time on his hand to hang around gtplanet.

Now with this GT5 data I might restart my game and be able to plot my car purchasing path. By sharing it I hope it can be of some use to others as well. As for restarting the game and mapping your car purchases before hand, wouldn't it be enough to document at least one UCD day for each car OR the event where the car is a prize car? However, I have no problem the way you play your game. Most people are happy to get cars like XFR by winning events, but if you choose to cycle though UCD to find all of them, that is fine too.

Maybe I should stop here. I used to cave dive until few years ago and people asked me quite frequently why do you do that, my reply was "I like wet rocks". I usually got strange facial expressions after that reply. I try to remind myself of that situation, when I see people doing strange stuff and wonder why they are doing that. Maybe recording UCD entries is your "wet rocks".

Final note: game day 3177, no match found, don't hold your breath while looking for the list to loop :)

I find this interesting when looking at the entire master list as a whole - especially these three:

Acura - HSC Concept '04
Opera Performance - S2000 '04
Mitsubishi - Lancer Evolution IV Rally Car '97

The Acura has occurred 5 times in my UCD - and looking ahead on the master list spreadsheet, it should occur at least once again (in 911_RS' data) - but after that, down in your section of the master list - it has yet to appear even once.

More of the same with the Opera Performance: it has occurred 6 times in my UCD (with at least one more to come) - but none lower down in the list.

And same with the Mitsubishi - it has occurred 3 times in my UCD.

At the moment I don't know what to make of this - I just find it odd that they appear from time to time in the upper half of the list - yet never in the lower half. At least not yet - but there is a fair amount of data in there...

Does it mean that all of a sudden they just become very scarce? Does it mean there are two UCD lists? Something else? Nothing? Not sure - but interesting all the same.

As for the other cars listed - I'm approaching 800 days documented (in over 1400 game days) and I have never seen any of them in my UCD.

Fastas the very first car on line1 for day 1 was Toyota 7 and i brought honda civic. By day 7 or 8 the zonda race car came up. These 2 dont pop up often or so close to each other so that might help. I will on the weekend start another account to c what all day 1 cars were. Just hit day 602 and our lists still match. Keep up the good work because its great to know what cars are coming up & you can plan to buy

Each to their own hey; this thread is called GT5 Used Car Database [in progress] for a good reason. It's probably for the best to read it before contributing posts, as with any thread on GTPlanet. If you think we're all nuts for persisting with it then fine; you just don't need to keep spamming the thread with your uneducated opinion. If you are proved right, by all means come back and tell us then but not with every post you make. 👍

I'm not sure what you are referring to above but here is my unedited workbook updated. I have highlighted the prize cars and have a list with all prize cars separately. I'm in the process of reviewing my early game data to make it more consistent.

This is how I use my workbook, not all of my cars are checked and none are available for trade :sly:

We haven't really explored the starting day lists too much but it is always interesting to see them. The first car purchase doesn't make a discernible difference because after the first day the cycle pattern usually matches up within a few days to known data.

Of the starting lists; in mine I had one car that stood out, it was the Lancia Stratos Rally Car. The significance of this for me was that it was also the car I was gifted for my b'day/the only car from 1977. It's suspected that the PS somehow personalises the starting list and it's location on the (assumed) cycle but it's just speculation at this point.

Oh well, I tried to stop, but like a good fight now and then :) Usually it is good sign that you are winning when the other side has to get personal ...What makes you say that my opinion is uneducated? Your truth is the only truth and every thing else is spam?

My post were related to UCD db and possible problems documenting it, so I don't see how that is uneducated or spam, but maybe you are with higher education and can educate me more?

For me (I am on day 327) :

Acura HSC Concept (standard) : day 155, 259
Buick Special '62 (standard) : yet to come
HPA Motorsports Stage II R32 (standard) : not on my list
Jaguar XFR (standard) : XFR ? are you sure
Mitsubishi Evo IV Rally Car (SP) : day 61
Opera Performance S2000 (standard) : day 99, 206

Hope this helps
