GT5 Used Car Database [in progress]

Ok, so let me understand this, sorry this is the very first time ive read this. The hextet is a string of 6 carsa in alternating formulae, either 1-6 or 6-1 in either order, and within this order is a repitition of cars, right up to the 800 odd total. And each persons PS3 formatting and placement determines the placement on the string we start at, and altho the placement of the cars is different... the results are the same?

If this is infact the case, can i ask for help in where i am on the list im slightly confused as to how im supposed to place myself on that list???

There is a master list (possibly two) that everyone follows. The part that each person has to figure out is where they are in that master list. Each day that passes produces 6 new cars (hextet) in the UCD.

In order to find where you are on the list requires a bit of searching. If you post the top six or so cars that are in your UCD right now it isn't too difficult to figure out. Be sure that you post keeping the order preserved (make it look like the game).

Right doing a bit of research, and following your rules, I noticed I have the master list that FESTA has produced but with slllightly bizzarre changes to it :/, Am I placing the list in the correct order?

Here are the numbers i had: (these are 3 days in my list you can see, in descending order, so current Day first, day previous, then the day previous before that ... or Day, Day - 1, Day - 2)

PENNOZOIL NISMO GT-R '99 STRATOS Rally Car '77
SC430 (US) '01 147 GTA '02

400R '96 CIVIC SiR-II (EG) '93
CLK-GTR Race Car '98 S2000 (EU) '03
TUSCANI CCS '03 CORVETTE C5-R (C5) '00

CUBE X '98 LEGACY B4 2.0GT '03
240SX (S14) '96 SKYLINE SEDAN 300GT '01

Right looking at those 3 days doesnt take a genius to work out, that, if you look, at FESTA's MasterList, im at 786/787 on the Day column, first on the left. Trouble is, I'm not sure whether I'm working it outright, but my cars are ever so slightly off from festas and placed in a different order, and 1 or 2 cars appearing in the list where they havent for me. Am I doing something wrong in my methods? I need some help please with this if possible :) :( ???

Also, looking at my day 787... My car placement method is the first of its kind it seems, as it CAN follow festas method more accurately it seems if i placed the cars in THIS ORDER:

6 1
5 2
4 3

You can see this if you start at 147GT '02 (1) and work down on my list to the S2000' (EU) 03 (3), then go directly left to the CLK-GTR Race Car '98 (4) and up to SC430 (US) '01 (6). Mind you, it doesnt work for other parts of the same code near this, in comparison to Festas :S. Is this a brand new placement order or has this been seen before?? Or am I reading festas master list wrong?

Any help would be appreciated,

Fastas has documented his cars in different format than what TornadoAlley is using. Fastas has only recorded day number for a car, but not how cars are ordered within a day. You might also have offset with Fastas days, for example for your day 1 you could have 4 cars from his day 1 and 2 cars from his day 2. When you combine no-order-with-in-a-day and offset, your list will look different than what you are seeing in the compiled list.

Example (first number is day, decimal is order with in a day)

1.3 Fastas 1.1 Your day
1.4 Fastas 1.2 Your day
1.5 Fastas 1.3 Your day
1.6 Fastas 1.4 Your day
2.1 Fastas 1.5 Your day
2.2 Fastas 1.6 Your day

Could also be like this

1.5 Fastas 1.1 Your day
1.2 Fastas 1.2 Your day
1.6 Fastas 1.3 Your day
1.1 Fastas 1.4 Your day
2.6 Fastas 1.5 Your day
2.1 Fastas 1.6 Your day

So any day where contributor is Fastas is not fully accurate, more like estimation with -/+ 1-2 day error margin. If you are cycling your UCD in order to buy certain car, you might want to stop 1-2 days earlier to check UCD, otherwise you might cycle too far.

You have definitely found your spot in the list. As nuuska7 said that part of the list will appear a bit scrambled for you but can still be useful.

You appear to be shifted from the days that Fastas recorded by 1 car. The 147 GTA appears on Fastas day 761 and the rest of your first six cars are on Fastas day 762.

You can look ahead now in that region of the list and see what cars are coming. They will not be in that exact order but can still be useful to you. I don't want to remove Fastas entries from the list for that reason. they are still useful and as the order gets corrected those sections of the list will be less confusing.

Thanks for the correction chances! With 800+ cars I'm sure there are typos here or there. I corrected all of those entries to match the new name.

jaymanji, that was perfect, real easy for me to paste into my database. I did find several typos that I corrected. If you use the master list of cars found in the compiled list that helps avoid typos. Most are easy to fix but occasionally a typo makes it impossible to know which car it was supposed to be.

Thought there would be a few mistakes, I was just ploughing through the ucd, wish there were a few less SKYLINE's/MX-5's/RX-7's/IMPREZA's/Evo's
 
A-spec auto grind done, reached my day 4681, no cycle as far as I can tell.

Is it just me or can anyony find this car in the database:


Pontiac Solstice Coupe Concept '02

It is one of 4 Used cars I need to complete the collection. I have checked the UCD every time, and I have still to see it in the UCD. A search through the database does not give me a result. Any help would be appreciated.

(For those interested the other 3 I need are: Pescarolo C60 Hybride, 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2 Rally Car '86, FX45 Concept '02)

The database is split to two lists, all of the cars you are looking for appear on both lists at least twice.

If you have collected your cars by cycling UCD, there is a chance that you have gone past the days which certain car, like the solstice appears, on master list #1 max master day for solstice is 618 and on master list #2 it is 891.

In order to find your exact game day when the missing cars will appear requires more info:
- your current game day
- list of your game day 0 cars to establish which master day corresponds your game day 0

Instructions how to obtain above information has been posted quite a few times in this thread, search is your friend

oh and tornado i found a small type in the car list: Mazda - MX-5 Miata S-Special Type I (NA, J) '95

it should just be s-special I (na,J) '95 with the "type" taken out ;)

Does anyone have both of these cars in their garage so we can verify the information?

Because we are talking about two cars. I have seen both of them, but did not buy them, so I can't check my garage (I wondered about this last night as well).

The first car is: Mazda - MX-5 S-special I (NA,J) '95

The second car is: Mazda - MX-5 Miata S-special [maybe with "type"] I (NA,J) '95

So there are two different '95 S-special MX-5's. I have seen both, with the second having "Miata" inserted in the name. My notes weren't clear about the "type" though.:guilty:

that's interesting. I verified it with mygranturismo.net , that car database site, before mentioning it to tornado and they have it listed as just s-special with no "type". if it is indeed "type" in the game, i apologize

on second thought: maybe they changed the name of it after one of the updates. They have changed car names before such as the x1 being changed to x2010

If I had some free time I have one showing up on day 4 of my game save. I won't be near my PS3 for several days though to check. If no one has verified for certain by then I'll give it a go.

If the name does include "type" it is a simple find a replace which takes 30 seconds or less.

in my garage.

This might be similar case as we had earlier, different Renaultsport car names for PAL and NTCS versions.

I've recorded another bunch of cars from my UCD for my days 1765 to day 1799:

These are for the Fastas list # 2

I have caught up with the next section that was recorded by visualface. His day 1785 is the same as my day 1799.

According to my notes this should be day 1813 in the master list, though visualface has it listed as day 1817. I'm not sure where this four day difference comes from. Perhaps TornadoAlley can straighen it out.

1708-1724
1750-1774
1800-1824
1850-1874
1900-1924

Of note: The Ford Falcon XR8 '00 makes it's first appearance in Master List #1 on day 1911 - just before it appears again on day 1938 as chances14 reported earlier.

funny how that works sometimes. Go 1900 days without seeing a car and then it shows up twice within 30 days
 
Got all of those updates in.

All users of Master List #2 (Fastas). I have fixed the issue of a one day shift that jaymanji has noticed. I highly recommend anyone who is using or filling in that sheet to download the newest version as you might see a one day shift in the master day alignment to your list.

GTsail I'm not sure how you got off in your notes but check out the master list (you can download as an excel file from google docs). The master days that you had been using were off by a few days.
