Just when I thought I solved it, I didn't.

Today I had just gotten this set of 6 cars.
Day 763 Opel Corsa Comfort 1.4 2001 Germany 16,876 0
Day 763 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS 2003 Japan 26,075 1
Day 763 Ford Taurus SHO 1998 USA 25,223 1
Day 763 Ford Ford GT (No Stripe) 2005 USA 127,972 15
Day 763 Lexus IS 200 1998 USA 17,730 0
Day 763 Honda NSX Type S 1999 Japan 73,871 5

5 of these cars (not the IS 200) are on day 11 of the cycle. But the next day came up blank for me as none of the 6 cars were on day 12

I finally got the GT today. I'd virtually given up on cycling and was about to just get on with playing on line etc and just checking the used car dealership when ever I could be bothered. I knew this would mean I'd probably never get the GT but I'd had enough. I then checked my dealership and there it was, I had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

I never did seem to find what day I was on though. Just when I'd think I knew where I was up to, the next few sets of days would make me think I was no where near where I thought. Having seen three Escudo dirt cars already within about 200 days, plus seeing some other rare cars appear far more often than I thought they should do, I've given up on finding my sequence. Thanks for the effort though you guys, keep up the good work. I haven't the time or patience you lot have to do all that, so big thumbs up to you all! 👍

check the previous day.

check the previous day.

Nope, none were in the day 10 list either, and this was the only correlation. I'm going to still track my days and I will let you know what I come up with. I will track probably the next 100 days.

Fastas, finally figured out how to use your spreadsheet. My 456 is your 446 but 1 car behind. There is an error on your MK day though. You put MK against the CELICA 2000GT-FOUR (ST165) '86, but you should have put it against the CELICA 2000GT-R (ST162) '86.

That therefore means my day 1 is your -9, and you're hundreds of days in front of me so I can't really add much to this besides the above correction. Hope you guys find the end of the cycle soon :)

Coming in late in the car tracking, but for the record, I'm on a US region game and system, and my cycle appears to match up exactly with Fastas+22 days. I haven't watched it closely enough yet to see if the hextet is identical or if there's a slight shift, but from a quick spot-check, it's dead on. Day 614 = FGT! Thank you contributors for giving me that piece of mind.

As far as downloading and viewing, I had no problem downloading from a Mac with Safari, unzipping it with the default OSX zip program, and reading it in Excel 2010

I'll keep an eye on the next few cycles to see if there is any deviation and report back, but as of now, it matches

Update: I'm half a day behind, so my cycle actually matches Fastas+21.5. FASTAS >> I think you need to add a "pp" for the availability of the Mazda RX-8 Type E '03. All the other cars match on surrounding days, and I see that your "pp" group (he he...) only has 5 cars in it

Thanks for the awesome tracking you're doing

I couldn't figure out my cycle length but what I was looking for surfaced 10 minutes after I lost count. Thank you for the hard work you guys put in.

Just when I thought I solved it, I didn't....

I took a quick look at the cars you posted and unfortunately, (for you at least :P) I can't see a link. Perhaps there is a region difference.

Hey, thanks for pointing that out, I will update it. 👍

Err, perhaps all regions have the same cycle.

Thanks for the corrections guys, it really helps to make this a usable and error free resource.

How are you finding the 'availability' column for checking cars? I ask because now that I have toppled the 1,000 day mark, I will need to revise the code. I didn't really consider anyone else when I started this code but, with feedback I am willing to hear any suggestions for improvement. Referencing days directly seems pointless as everyone is different. I am considering switching to a three digit format but back dating it to day 1. so day 1 would be AAA for example.

I think you might be over-complicating it. I think it might be easier (and eliminate the need for the calendar page) if you just list the day number that they arrive, and then it's up to us to figure out that our cycle is "Fastas plus or minus X number of days."

I second this motion, it seems simpler in theory.

Just a suggestion... Keep up the struggle all... you gotta fight the power[PD]!

The system TornadoAlley is using to find the cars in the list is great. It's easy, fast, and accurate.

I'll go check it out now. Fastas was actually the first one I looked at, and based on the cars in my UDC at the time, it was pretty easy to see where I was compared to his list

I've been working on combining several lists that have been posted here (Fastas, Famine, Crazedmodder, and mine) so you could look through the whole list. The issue is there is almost no overlap between peoples lists so I don't know where they sit in relationship to each other. It would be great if anyone else who has been tracking their list would post what they have thus far so I could incorporate it as well to work towards a complete list

i could give you 10 days worth of a list which wasn't completed but I know that 30 days (in game) later I got the FGT. My list goes from day 755 to day 769 I believe.

At this point I would take any info. Single days of cars aren't really all that useful at this point but if you have several days in a row I can see if I can find where it goes in the master list.

Also if you had a consistent method for what order you filled the cars in that information is useful as well.

I do have several days in a row. I listed them by car name, region, price, and level required to buy the car. I have 14 days total so just point me where to send it and its yours.

My cycle is also already covered in Fastas. Great for me, not so much help to the bigger picture though

Tornado-- I tried opening your list last night cause it sounds like a pretty cool interface. The macros don't work in Excel 2008 on a Mac though. If I told you the top 4 cars in my lot and the day I'm on, could you generate one and send it to me? Then when I open it and have to disable the macros, it won't matter cause you'll have already plugged the info in

That would be fine however my list doesn't overlap with Fastas so it won't be much help to you yet. I didn't realize that excel on a Mac doesn't have the capability for visual basic (bummer).

You can get macros to work on Excel 2008 I believe. Search for "Frontline Systems solver for Mac".

Fastas -- You should add a "qe" to the availability of the Daihatsu Copen Detachable Top '02. That's the day I'm on and that's the 6th car that you're missing

Reached day 16 and the Nissan Primera is not there...

Thanks for the information.

Not sure what it's relevant to, since this is your first post in this thread, but I'm sure it'll all become clear sometime soon.

I'm looking for the 1990 Nissan Primera so I started a new save until day 16 and the car was not there. Also, a Countach 25th Anniversary showed up which wasn't in any list I saw.

So obviously there are differences between regions or something.

Nah man. You're coming in WAY late in the game (as did I...I'd logged for 5 days and then just checked the forum yesterday and found that an immense amount of work had already been done). Read back over the last dozen pages the catch up if you wan't, but:
1) there is a pattern, it is not random. The first day MAY be random, but then you plug into a cycle
2) the cycle is HUGE. No one has seen it repeat yet. Could be thousands of days
3) It is NOT different by region.
4) You're just on part of the cycle that no on has logged yet. That's a good thing for the bigger picture. What you should do is start logging yours. Maybe someone will start to see your pattern in their cycle, and know that they have "met" yours and can complete a gap by using your data

Chandler's covered this.

There are no differences in the car lists from game to game, console to console or region to region except where the list starts. You have no reason to assume there'll be a Nissan Primera '90 on your day 16 because it was on someone else's - the start points seem to all be different.

Work is underway on generating a master list which covers the whole data set, but finding out where you are on that set will be difficult.

Oh alright, so I just need to find where my used car lot starts. Sorry.

Ok gentleman, I offer my services to this cause. I will use a "sleepy" PSN ID I have in my PS3 to do it from a game save day 1.

AND I will use Famine's excel sheet as the base-format for writing down the data. However, I won't record all the data he tracks. If it is alright with you guys I'll just record the basics. Which are:

Week - Make - Model - Colour - Year - Mileage ( I have it in kms, btw) - Level - Cost

Is this ok with you guys?

That sounds like a pretty darn nice offer on behalf of the GT community. My request would be to do your day# instead of "week". I know your day # won't match up with ours, but it seems pretty easy once you can match your cycle with a spot in someone else's to know that you are plus or minus however many days

Hun200kmh: Before you go recording hundreds of days of information I would just double check your day 1 doesn't match up with a day recorded by someone else. Your day 1 could very well be Fastas day 10. If your day 1 is on someone elses list, then probably best way you can help is to record the information the other people are missing out, or to double check other peoples lists to make sure they haven't made mistakes... My 2 cents anyway...
