gt5p udate "new sounds"

I think the sound of cars is better in general but...

In other side, in cockpit view, other cars sound is to much lowder
I have been many times in "trackdays" and you never hear more other cars and less your own car. (not real for me)

Same opinion here really. Great sounds, pity you cant hear your own car. Every time I am in a pack I find myself getting left behind because I am bouncing off the rev limiter and dont realise it because my car can not be heard at all.

FREAK YES!!! THE Z4 SOUNDS SO MUCH MORE BETTER NOW! its so nice hearing it rev all the way up in the redline....and they changed transmmision sound..

instead of vooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHMMMM 3nd gear.....voooooooooOOOO

now its voooooOOOOOOOMMMMMM redline VOOOoooooooOOOOOmmm redline VooooooOOOOm

it use to sound so bogged down...now its much better and livelier

and the more pernounced whine aint all that bad either:sly:

I did a lot of sound testing yesterday, and I have nothing more to say than I love them. I also did a lap around Suzuka with a Elise 111R, and then the tuned version of that car. The race version was so fricken loud compared to the street version, as it should be...I loved it.

The mazda RX-7 and RX-8 S sound so very neglected.....:nervous:

Actually the RX-7 isn't that bad but the RX-8 is a straight up GT4 vacuum cleaner. It's not even close! How can PD do a car from their country such injustice?! 👎

For what it's worth, the Model-T could finish a lap. The two horseless carriages couldn't, they can't make it up the hills. The Model-T actually does fairly well, because the downhills let you get a lot higher top speed out of it than you can on a flat track, by letting it coast.

Yeah I know the Model T could do it, but I never did, I will in GT5 if the combination is available again.

I love the new sounds from the other cars... really adds to the feel.

Haven't really been troubled with shifting caused by not being able to hear my car.

There is no point in posting a video of the improved sounds if Youtube (or anywhere else) is just compressing the data to death. You won't be able to tell anyway, no?

f430 sounds alot better now, like that one guy said. it acualy sounds like a ferarri now, instead of rc car.:sly:

I don't mind. Just something for us less fortunate would be fine. I keep reading about how amazing things sound now but I'm left to wonder:nervous:

Get yourself a surround sound kit dude, there not that expensive. it will make a real difference to the sound of the cars.

What I can tell you is that the sounds have taken a bit a leap if you've heard previous vers. of gt5p. It's getting better for sure but it's still no GTR or forza2 in terms of sound, not even close.

If you have a decent amp and a surround sound set up, then the car sounds are pretty awesone. They can be improved on, but no doubt they will be in the final GT5.

I hear you, it's just that rich, full sound that seems to be missing sometimes. Some cars are better than others. I'm sure things will improve for gt5 but I question how they record and then apply their samples. Like so many others have said on these forums, I really, really wish they could take their mega budget and record these cars on a real dyno.

I hear where your coming from, but NFS wasn't dyno recorded. PD maybe should learn something from that, like the REAL turbo blow off sound, certainly on the LM and JGTC cars.

well...The dodge viper gts dosent sound like horse **** any more.. its finaly got more growl and thunder and sounds wayyyyyyyyyyy different in incarveiw. FINALY PD GAVE THE GTS SOME BALLS:tup:

Yup, viper got quite a bit of tweaking. You hear the thing at idle and it sounds like a truck. Which isn't suprising since I believe the v10 was sourced from a dodge truck.

For comparison, here is a movie showing the new GTR Evolution game:

Even on this crappy youtube video you can hear that the sounds are excellent in this game, you can hear the gearbox shifts and the backfire from the exhaust pipes, very nice indeed. 👍 I hope GT5 will match or even surpass this. :)

Haha, thats why I drive them on Eiger mostly, in GT4 I tested all my cars on Nurburgring (well almost, not the Model T or the 1886 cars) and will do the same in GT5. :)

Remember that guy who made a lap in the ring in 24 hours with the 1886 model????

just drove the ferrari 599 for the first time after the update...:)
again my neighbours rang the doorbell to ask me if i whas testing a car inside my livingroom and if i would be so kind to do it outside of the city....:D:D:D:D:D

hahaha...truly AMAZING...

spyrrari.

Yeah that does sound nice, but its too bad, when I play those games like GTR2 and rFactor, the sound quality is not as good as GT5P, I have both 5.1 for pc and TV. And GT5P sounds are a lot crispier. But GT5P does need some of the gear, bov, and other aspects.

I had another one of my weird ideas last night while driving. What about having an option where you can chose to play the in game music through the cars factory stereo (if the car indeed has one in real life unlike the F40 etc.). The nice high end stereos would sound good like the R8, and the econoboxes would have tinny sounding 4 speaker setups . Kind of an odd idea but if this is a simulator....where does the music come from???
