But yeah, @Voodoovaj not everyone in England speaks good English and it isn't reasonable to expect so. The origins of the English language are Germanic too.

Back on topic. I've had the same issue where adding my own music and removing the games from the playlist results in no music at all the next time i start GT. It's fine the first time i do it but it's tedious adding it every time i play the game. Hope it's fixed soon but TBH there are other things i hope are fixed first.

This is exactly what I did. My racing play list has stuff from GT 1-4 (and yes, the MCR song from GT5...The soundtracks only saving grace to me)

How does one go about pulling the soundtrack from a previous game???? Have to admit, I am underwhelmed with the music in GT6. I only have GT's 3 and 5. How would I get the music from GT3, a game from the PS2 into GT6 (if that's even possible)? Actually I hardly remember the music from GT3.

I don't race with Music - so the vast majority of the Music - doesn't get played. I drive to the dull thud of engine revs and the scream of rubber on Asphalt.

I quite like some of the GT6 "Loading" intros you get. "Turbo" by that Daiki Doodah Girl/Lad/Group stood out as a nice crunchy to the... International B races (I think).

GT1&2 had dealership music jingles which at the time had a few really dodgy tunes. But time alters perceptions and even the... Nissan Dealership... No Never the Nissan Dealership is a Migrane-o-tron...

That said I wish I had put the music on for the ever so dull Like the Wind races.

If it weren't for the original Gran Turismo, I may have never discovered what is currently my favorite band... Garbage. That said, I highly prefer old-time game soundtracks, that didn't feature real-world artists.

Great driving music for me.

My rose tinted memories of GT4 are that Panama and Freewheel Burning played almost every time and when it wasn't them it was Kaiser Chiefs.

For anyone complaining that the music is all low rent, please switch on Radio 1 or something similar. You will find artists like Palma Violets, Nero etc, and these are all artists featured on GT6. If we turn back to 2005, you will have heard a lot of Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol etc, and they were all featured on GT4. If the soundtrack isn't appealing to a younger demographic, it'll die.

BGM in Gran Turismo? What's that?

Since GT3, the first thing I do is eliminate/disable all BGM. Whether the music is good or bad is irrelevant, it's just a distraction in my opinion.

Although I will admit that GT2 had a kick-ass soundtrack. It was turned off for drivingm, but I left it on for replays. "My Favorite Game" brings back a lot of fond GT memories. Didn't it also have "Where it's at" and "Dragula"?

But if PD keep aiming the race BGM towards the older demographic, how would it have an appeal to young people? The kind of music which you call good was on Radio 1 at some point. It was popular at some point. Now, we're just coming full circle.

It did. Losing my favorite game was not actually played in game though, just the intro.

It was much more adrenaline inducing than the generic and bland intros from GT5 and GT6 which are more of a "technical showcase" than anything else.

I still think there intros adrenaline inducing, although I kind of did think GT5's first intro was a little cheesy. The spec 2.0 intro later made the game seem a lot better. I really like GT6's intro they have right now. I wonder if they will be making more later on.

I don't know how old YOU are or how old X power is for that matter, but I'm in my mid 30s (35 in two weeks in fact) and I'll wager I looked forward to the newest GT as much as any teenager... maybe even more since I've been a fan since game 1. My point being, it ought to have music for all ages. Don't get me wrong, I love some techno (especially older stuff) but a lot of what is on GT6s play list just sounds like noise to me.

Just for comparison, I just looked back through my custom play list.. I've got music from as far back as the 1960s (The Who), a veritable whos-who of 80s and 90s rock, some early techno (moby, Alice Deejay, etc), late 90s/2000 (selections fron prior GT soundtracks included), and up to today.

I guess what Im really saying is, if I can find an epic play list that spans 40 years that would appeal to every generation of gamer, why can't they?

I'm enjoying hearing all the different sides of the coin here!

Prior GT games featured older music as well. my favorite example was Judas Priest "Turbo Lover" from GT2 (turbo lover came out in the 1980s, GT2 came out in 2001.)

GT4 as well, had some old school Van Halen amongst others for example. And I would disagree with you that 'generation Y' are their primary target. I would say they mainly target a generation above the types that would normally play Forza, Need For Speed etc. As previously said, they should cater for every age group, not just teenagers. THAT is the only fair route.
