Woops... one Yes vote should be a No. What I get for posting right after getting up. :p

First of all, yes I did kind of screw up the dates; didn't really take the time to factor in GT6's exact release date. I was really tired when I made this. :dunce: But it will be more 'accurate' later on in the next few weeks.

So far, about 44% of people who answered the poll have reported freezing; most of those people who have not experienced freezing seem to have had the game since launch.

The game froze the first time I played :D (25 December). After the 1.02 update the TV screen turned black. After a reset the game worked.

Frozen a few times but the real problem is online. Tons of glitches like the scoreboard not going away, pit stops not working properly, qualifying going all screwey and just countless disconnects.

A complete mess.

The game froze on me while I was browsing the dealerships.

You forgot the option: "YES, played 0 seconds!!! I pre-ordered the anniversary edition and haven't been able to play since the release date.

At first the disc wouldn't read, this was due to an issue with the Blu-ray lens. I had the same problem with The Last of Us but didn't want to spend money on the PS3 at the time.
But when I got the same issue with GT6 I ordered a new lens and swapped it. Issue solved, the disk is being read.
So finally I get to play the game I thought...
My hopes where soon crushed when the PS3 kept shutting down (Blinking red light, precursor of YLOD?) after setting up the screen size (Where you adjust the corners till they fit on your TV). Tried runnning TLoU, disk read OK and the game worked perfectly, even after several hours of gameplay so I'm sure I did the lens swap OK.

So I decided to get a new PS3 (Superslim, The old one is a Slim 120Gb btw)
Started up GT6, made it past the screen setup.. yay.
The intro video starts to play and since I've already seen it online I decide to skip it...
Aaaaand the ****n thing freezes on me! Quit game via the XMB menu, PS3 goes into forced reset and needs file system check after rebooting.

I started the game again and let the whole intro video play, when it's done: nothing but black for over 15min...
So again reboot + file check. Then I deleted the game data, reinstalled and started GT6, still nothing.

At this point it is seriously starting to piss me off, I guess the only think I can do is wait for a new patch?

err no? fix your issue now, what makes you think there is a patch coming that will specifically let you play gt6 for the first time because you have not been able to so far. Thats crazy. The game is meant to run on any version so far.

How can a new superslim not run the game? Return your console from where you bought it and say its faulty! Have you tried the disc on another playstation?

Mine keeps freezing when I'm previewing rims. It happens when I select a rim to preview, then select the rim right next to it that is the exact same style, just a different color, finish, or slight variation. It's happened to me with the OZGainer rims (differnt color selected) and the Jaguar-style wire rims (different spinner selected).

@xSNAKEx: The new PS works just fine. I've tried several other games in the meanwhile, no issues at all.
The disc itself is working OK, I tried it on my brothers fat PS3 just after the release when it was not working on my slim PS3.
I think I'll try formatting the PS3 and give it one more try. Although I doubt this it will help since the system is brand new and I already tried reinstalling the game data.

Had mine day one, never froze but has done the weird sound dropout that fixes itself after an upshift or downshift. 160 Gen 3 PS3 with stock HDD and with about 32GB left and GT6 has about 8GB+ installed. Games plays smooth as butter aside from shadows acting a little weird on Mt. Panorama. Sorry to hear about other people having issues but my PS3 is rather old, I think many folks with older PS3's may need to run the system in safe mode and do a database rebuild. I had to do that because one of my games crashed and PS3 needed to check then it said the file system was corrupted and had to restore that then did a database rebuild and after that PS3 has been chugging along like a champ. I might need to vacuum it this month as I haven't done it in several. It run cool though even though I have heard the fan ramp up the other night.
NO idea what sort of interesting fie system PS3 uses but it supposedly doesn't get fragmented, hence no option to defrag the drive. How true that is is anyone's guess but I do know that PS3 can oddly delete massive files in relatively short times and other will take long leaving me bewildered. Anyway maintain a clean PS3 area, keep the dust out of it and always always remember not to power down using the power switch. PS3 purposely does not allow you to power it down from the XMB while a file save is in operation(the option to shut down won't be available until the game is finished saving).

I got my game the morning it came out. It was running slow and chunky the first week, then it froze on the epilepsy warning screen.

I haven't noticed it running slow and chunky, but I did have an episode a few nights ago where it hung on the epilepsy warning, requiring a restart, and then it crashed out when I exited the game after the restart.

Since then it logs in normally (apparently) but it seems that my login bonus is actually going backwards instead of increasing with each consecutive login. I was up to 170% but now I am back down to 130% after 3 consecutive logins.

The only problem I had was getting the PS3 to read the GT6 disc upon insertion (after removing GT5 disc that had sat in the machine for the past 3 years). At first it failed to read. I had to re-insert the disc before it finally read it. No problem since.

Had quite a few freezes initially on my launch-day 80GB fat. That ended up totally crapping out and I've been freeze free for a month on the preowned slim that I picked up to replace the old fatty.

Clean the dust out of your machines and make sure they're not running hot - I'm thinking that is causing the majority of the crashes out there. The game definitely pushes the ragged edge of what the PS3 is capable of, so if yours isn't in tip-top shape, you'll be more likely to have issues.

I can't really offer you much help but it sounds like you have a defective GT6 disk.

So far, 38% of those who have voted experienced freezes.

It only happened once where it froze at the epilepsy screen and after rebooting it had to check the files and all that. And that was 2 - 3 weeks ago. Been working great for me lately.

I've got an 80GB fatty like they were selling just before the slims came out.

Frozen once... in the main menu screen I was moving about to the seasonal tile and it sort of erm froze.
But I guess it was down to PS3 being on too long and a build up of errors in its cyberdyne neural net processor.

The game has not frozen on me at all after a month of game play. Also a strange thing occurred when I first put the game in that is it didn't take time to load up. When I've put other games in for the first time there's been a time of loading information. About the game into my ps but this game there wasn't. I put it in and straight away I could play it. Has anyone else found this too.

My game freezes and crashes EVERY time I play it. so far, that's every day. It usually freezes while in the dealership and loading the car selection. Many times, the car image doesn't load and the background is blank. No buttons work and I need to force shut down my PS3. Then, every time I restart the system, it goes into recovery mode. This is getting very annoying.

Ha! Well my son just went to exit from an arcade TT at Goodwood and was instantly taken to the xmb menu!

Never seen it crash that fast or "clean" before lol

Froze first time on opening screen on my first play. Then another 3 times in less then two weeks on race loading screen.
Version 1.02 on 500GB super slim.
What's going on here? This game now froze more times than Skyrim with the later I spent much more time on. I don't remember GT5 have frozen on me. :-(

Only had it happen once, I think it was on a license test, right as I went off track, before the “disqualified” noticed popped up, it just froze, and stayed that way for a good 5–10 minutes, and then I either repressed the power button or it did it on its own (I don’t remember), gave me a double beep,a nd the PS3 rebooted as normal. Only time anything remotely like that has happened. That was a while ago.

(I voted as “No” however, as per the first post…)
