This stuff is for the gps track analysis mode isn't it? You need all the kit and gt86...
No, the GPS-thing is completely seperate from what I understand, used to help the driver analyze their driving, where-as in the rig' news-post, they quote KW as saying it's for the track-replay mode, much like the data-logging from GT4.
My understanding is that they used it for nothing but physics/suspension modelling. It would not be used by us as the players.
Not sure how else they would tie it into the game. Maybe let you take your car onto the rig, select the type of ride/handling you want, and then it would automatically set it up for you?

The 7-post mode is reserved for the so-called track replay mode. First of all, data has to be collected at the race track which is then evaluated at the test stand. The data record can only be used for identical car constructions.
So I'm hoping they've kept their word, and that players will in-fact get substantial access to the rig's use. From what
very, very little info that's been released, I'm hoping the process will follow something along the lines of this;
>Drive car around track in GT6 with data-logging enabled
>Return to garage with data, upload data into whatever UI PD has made
>Analyze replay data for things like suspension 'bottoming-out', un-dampened oscillations, over-compressing/stressing components, etc.
>Go to tuning screen on rig, adjust settings (height, spring strength, etc), re-test until suspension parameters stay in (what I'll call) the 'green zone', drive car again and confirm changes.
If suspension-tuning finally gets to the technical level like I want it to, I may just open a GTtuning shop, lol.
probably going to out value the majority of cars that it will be installed on.
