Hi guys. I just got a ps3 a few weeks back and recently bought gt6. I had to download all 9 updates that have come out so far. But after downloading the update when i start the game, it shows that its installing the updates and around 120 mins are remaining. Eventually after an hour of waiting, it showed an error saying that installation failed due to an error and it exited the game. Now when i tried to start the game, again its showing 70 mins to install. Does it usually take this long? And is there a fix to this error problem incase it arises again? Pls help

I don't know what kind of PS3 error you encountered but after using this fix, I haven't encountered any PS3 updates error anymore...This might help.

I used this fix when I got install and download errors in GTAV. Even if I completed the download, it keeps getting install error at 90% +. I don't know how PS3 games updates works but I'm thinking maybe because the download is really not 100% complete when its about to get installed. That's why we are encountering this install errors. I think this fix prevents incomplete update download. Or maybe its just coincidence on my part.

I deleted the (BROKEN) downloaded update file so I can have a clean install. I also used wired internet. Also you have to abide to this https://www.gtplanet.net/aup/ or the moderators will get you.

Yeah i had this problem a ton during 1.09. i had to to update many times and several times they were like 2 hours or so long. i guess you just have to keep on trying like ultra said.
I deleted the game data utility files of around 12 gb and then restarted the game and downloaded all the updates when it told me to when the game started. Do i have to delete the save files and start all over again too? Also do i have to download all 9 updates and install them as its been doing or is there a way i can install one update at a time?

Of course don't delete your save files or you'll start over again. If it doesn't work, just keep trying. Maybe the servers are full right now and the downloaded file is "not" really complete. This also happened to me in GTAV. I had to wait for months and a lot of downloading to have it installed correctly.
About the update, I know you cannot choose what files to download. Also if you can, focus your internet bandwidth to your PS3 while downloading. Good luck.
