Gran Turismo 7 Last lap | winning the Manufacturers Cup by 0.091 |

Now that’s how you switcheroo it back in your favour, bravo.

What an ending to a 20 lap race 🙌

@Stringerbell personally I just forget the divers, they’ll come unstuck in the end, the fastest way around the track is taking the corners properly to set up the next corner, I won’t dive in, really annoys me when ppl do that, stay on the line 😁 you’ll get a proper race out of most that way

No.

Here is the last lap of my first Manu fractures cup wins there, I took it on the last straight but it was racing at its best.

Remember this is day one of a new set of dailies everyone is a little unsure and clumsy, it will tighten up quality wise or you’ll easily escape them pace wise.

With your QT I’d say from a far that you aren’t quiet taking the right speed on exits, brake a fraction less let the car coast and then ease on the power.

Famine didn’t quite say it in his article but all of these are flow tracks rally is always about flow, Interlagos is about flow and Suzuka is a flow track everywhere from the essses to the degnas and spoon

Watched that a few times now, very cool and some great/smooth driving! Congrats on the win.

Ok will try that in the corners, there is definitely time to make up as I don't feel like I really know what I'm doing in any of the corners, BMB last week I knew exactly where I wanted to put the car, where to brake and when to turn etc.... so just need to try and get that confidence at this track and can hopefully

Yeah I don't try and get revenge or anything, just frustrating to be pushed around!!! But as i said to Barney - I think I am partly to blame with over slowing and just generally being in the way a bit!

Ha the price you pay for being nice!!!!!

Is Interlagos known as a track that is just a complete washing machine of carnage with the type of corners it has?

I just saw the same in a race just now, this guy thumps past me first lap, first turn, does the same to someone else a few turns later, penultimate turn, the passed guy just gets inside and puts him off, takes both of them out and puts me in 4th, 😁 you’ll can just see it coming

It's absolute chaos isn't it, how has the racing been going?

Race A qualifying allows slamming into the first turn wall with no penalty which gains at least half a second. This might be one where touching a wall should make the lap invalid and also move up the barrier before the start line so people can't get a run up. Hopefully the leaderboard gets reset and I especially hope that move doesn't work in the race.

Ok, afternoon off to crack the 1.33 at Interlagos…..

….. accomplished 😁

I noticed P1 on the leaderboard had gone a load faster than what I thought was a tidy lap and not shared their ghost, if that was done by wall riding I'm going to be a bit pissed off.

Pole is it's own punishment in this race though, for some reason it puts you on the outside line so more often than not you'll be pushed off at the start and it's really hard to fight back through.

I'm trying to get into the 1:32's but MAN I just can't. I'm starting races in the bottom half of the top 10 without a 1:32. I've been fortunate to be finishing on the podium, or top 5, because of the carnage ahead of me. I need to take another step, or resign myself to the idea that I need a wheel rig to go faster :(

The Suzuka race is interesting, the Lexus is my weekly race credit farm cheat car as it's a guaranteed win vs group 3 cars if slightly detuned. Point being, I know it well. Ran 3 qualy laps (52.5) then did a race, started last in a split A/B room, was racing quite well when suzuka did suzuka things. This track really needs patience and idiots always seem to hit me here, I managed to get to 11th and came across a damaged car in the esses, there was just no way past but nope, guy behind me just barges through, nerfing me off the road, costing me 6 seconds. Pit penalty then also hurt me but I suspected I had decent pace as I was hanging there or thereabouts with the leader's pace. Finished 10th in the end.

Ended the night with another 5 laps or so QT and managed a 50.9, I still have maybe 3 tenths in me i'd say. Point to my diatribe is between GT SPort and GT7 I have never really had any success racing at Suzuka, it is near impossible with a D-pad so that hurt, and now with a wheel it has taken me a year to adjust tot he track but I THINk I may be on the pace this time, maybe anyways.

You’re pretty close mate but I know how it feels to try improve on an already top time, my DR is a little all over the place at the moment, just before I improved my time I started p3 in a lobby so I was expecting my improvement to put me pole or close but no, 11th for my efforts 🤣

And on the rig front, if you have the opportunity and the space just treat yourself, you earned it 😁

@NevilleNobody get yourself into race B mate, missing you from the leaderboard 👊

Naaaah for some reason I am off the pace at Interlagos and keen to do a longer race. One thing you might try though is qualify with whatever is fastest but for the race. select a car with excellent top end. You can eat people at Interlagos with the right car.

I’m sticking with the Porsche, I know it so well and it can give the R8 a good run for its money,

Glad it’s on hards as there is a lot of cars ahead just losing it on acceleration 😁

And there’s a new Porsche out Thursday so I want to retire the RSR until then

😂 mate you wanna be grateful I posted it, if @newmedia_dev posted it you wouldn’t even make the screenshot 🤣

Edit. Tbf either would I 😁

I’ve moved on to Suzuka as just really wasn’t enjoying Interlagos!

I’m 2nd in the friends leaderboard there behind Barney so that’s much better. The fact it’s only me and Barney that have a time on there is not important 😂😂 P2 is P2!!!!

About to start and got zero idea what to do in the ran or when to pit of anything! What could go wrong 🤷‍♂️

Just a lil trick I use when I feel I'm "plateauing" and can't improve my lap time:
Change the BB setting (usually always +4 or +5) to 0 for a session of about 10 laps, then back to normal.
I forgot; one other trick:
Take a good sleep and try the next day.
For this week I'll be in Brasil in the new 911 regardless if it's meta or not and maybe, if I find the time, give her a Gurzu style livery. Actually I'm not racing since the end of October thanks to my tendonitis (did only practice to not lose the rythm). It's still persistent, but bearable and improving week by week.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful racing week.

To add to @Gurzu advice, if I feel like things are really stagnating I mix it up by using a faster car for 5-10 laps like Interlagos, do some laps in a GR2 car, it helps mentally slow down the gr3 stuff, same with gr4 do some laps in a gr3 and then things feel calm and you can focus on the minor inputs with perceived time.

Sound advice mate, it always looks better after a good sleep 😁

Just did 6 laps of QT on my US acc at Suzuka before my very late dinner.

Not too bad but still 2 seconds off #1. I am very rusty though on GT7. Hopefully get a few races in this evening.
Did 4 last night on another account and ended up with P2,P1,P1,P4 so not too bad. Some good clean racing and these cars are just fantastic around Suzuka

GAAAAH. had pole in an all B room, saw the weather map at the start and switched to inters. In my panic I failed to realise it is time-lapse and current time was barely spitting. I somehow hang onto p3 after a lap but entering the pits a guy tries to come up my inside and boom, around I go. Stone mothrless last, recover to 5th as ibhad pace but geebus.

Second race a tougher room with lots of A players. Started P4, finished P5, my fresh tyre pace is excellent but lap 3 to 5 in the stint I am slower than most A drivers.

Thank you - great advice, have played about with the BB and changed cars. To be honest I think I've just hit a ceiling of where my skill level sits and Interlagos and Suzuka are a big step up in technical difficulty so has been a bit of rude awakening as was getting a bit carried away thinking I was getting good lol! Hope the tendonitis heals up ASAP and you're back racing!

Will give this a go as well, think I am going to have a day or two off anyways as I've been super intense trying to improve for the last 6/7 weeks that I'm losing sight a bit about enjoying it! Did one race at Suzuka last night and it was hammering down the full race which was cool and enjoyed that so may try and focus on Suzuka for rest of the week with the odd jaunt back at Interlagos as I think I'm 1 or 2 races away from dropping back into C so will at least be a bit more competitive.

Oh no how annoying!!!! But still great pace to end up on pole, get the tyre strat right and looks like a nice win could be on the cards!!!!

Thanks for the advice everyone - all taken on board, think I just got a bit spoiled with some good results and pace last few weeks at Tokyo, Barcelona and BMB that put my head in the clouds a bit! two technical tracks brought me back down to earth :) Now the real work begins.

Hey - I was in your position mid of Dec and was brand new to the game.

Some great advice from the guys.

I would say just focus on having fun at the start and work on racing clean and getting your SR rating to S as quickly as possible as you will have better races and less Wally’s deliberately crashing into you. Plus your DR increases more with a higher SR is my understanding.

The ghosting in D and C is on pretty much every crash and saves you lots, B and above you have to start dodging as they don’t always ghost so it’s good practice to dodge even when ghosted.

Learn the course in the quali so you know what’s coming up rather than trying to learn it in the races as it’s really difficult to race and learn when to break and what corners etc…

Post on here as well, the community has been great and really helpful with a great bunch of guys and gals!

Enjoy and I’ll see you in the lobby’s soon!

Add me stringerb2605

That’s first corner and the the U shaped turn after are absolute chaos at the start, I’ve started just trying to go wide on the U turn to avoid the inevitable dive bombs! Been a fun week of racing though but looking forward to next week and spreading my time between interlagos and Suzuka as haven’t raced either before

What on earth is going on in the daily races? The standard of racing - idiots and dirty drivers, is just appalling. Not to mention, of course, morons who dont know how to use the brake pedal. Case in point... Race C: a Dutchman hit me 5 times on the first lap. The last of which took me out of the race and over 30 secs behind the leaders - race over.

And for the second time, just minutes ago, I changed to full wets... the race started and I still had RMs on the car. Result = Race Over. What is going on?

How long is this rubbish from PD going to last? Not forgetting the dreadful server issues we've been having for so long now and still not fixed.
