When I got my Oplite nitro kart, it was like an Ikea's forniture; built without reading the user manual. 🤣

Edit: To fit in my new T598 was a nightmare btw...

How you liking the t598? Make sure you have the 2.55 update for it

The new Porsche will be coming next week too šŸ˜Ž

I should probably say 'updated Porsche' as I'm not sure if calling a 911 'new' is the correct term šŸ¤”

I don’t suppose that update drops by 8am Monday morning does it? 😁 would love to drive that new or improved Porsche for the whole week

Given that the GT3 R is rear-engined and the RSR is famously mid-engined, it's a little more than "updated".

Unlikely. Figure on 7am Thursday morning for update availability, and 9am before server maintenance ends and online play is possible.

I’m not sure whether to run in the Ferrari or the Porsche at interlagos, the Porsche was so damn good at Catalunya, I need to make a choice by lunchtime tomorrow, so the most 296 or 911 in the top 100 at 1215 I’m going with and sticking with! 😁
It won’t matter much, I’m resisting posting my manu cup win at Interlagos in the porsche but it was duck and dive and a very competent Ferrari driver.

I lose track of which decimal we are on with Porsche now, they will milk that heritage forever!

Dynamically it won’t make a difference though. The early and middle cars were rear engined and transitioned slightly but the philosophy never changed and they have solved the rear engined thing ages ago.

Driving the different models back to back recently I don’t think it’s that big of a thing handling wise.

The correct name is 911 992.2 GT3 (if it's the Evo) or we could just call it 911 GT3 considering what we have right now is the 911 gte
I’d need to go look but the R is classified as a sub model as the racing cars are derivative and not resale models. You might be right but I want to check, not that it makes a difference in any meaningful way.

How did everyone finish up on this weeks races? Good/bad/indifferent?

I finished tonight with a two wins, a podium and two finishes below P13 šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. My two wins weren’t really ā€œracesā€ got out into the lead within 2 laps and just stayed there throughout.

Couldn’t get my QT any lower than 1.14.495 but my fastest sections together would have given me a 14.1. Tried guides, ghosts and replays but think I’m at my ceiling. Goal is to break into the top 1,000 hopefully!

Was a fun week though, enjoyed BMB but looking forward to hopefully more race C’s next week.

Had a little time trail on Suzuka, not an easy track for my ability and will take some learning I think!

I’ve squeezed over 15000 on my DR which is a nice milestone to finish on!

Couple of wins this week for me at A, nothing more than a few podiums at B, some great racing and some stellar times maybe assisted by new rig and at the thick end of my friends leaderboard.

I’d buy that for a dollar 🤣

Sundays brings people to the track that you dont see very often.
The results are always horrible.

Some times you see poor driving with no malice

But ohter times you see notorious dirty driving aggravated by the fact of an unexistent penalty system.

Do you qualify against the top times?
Yes, I used @Tidgney ghost to get my extra 0.1 seconds yesterday - no idea what I did that was so different in the race though!

As those that tried this race will know, QT not so much of an issue with this race though, most of my podiums came from me starting P8 or lower. I tended to hang back on lap 1, and make up places via the carnage that erupted in front🤣

Had one memorable race where I started P10, and was P4 by the bottom of the hill on lap 1.....

Yeah strange one Sardegna has been, the race prior to seeing you was starting 10th with a load of AS types and then I started pole in the race with you and the one after was also starting with a load of higher levels

The only other one I won I clung onto the inside from the start, in 8th and ran away with it 🤣

Normality next week if say

Night and day compared to the Logitech g923. Unfortunately I couldn't yet update the firmware (still 1.94), but I've found a nice setup anyway. I feel more in control and therefore more consistent. I need btw an harder spring for the brake pedal. It's a lil too soft for my taste now. Btw very happy in general.

Just wanted to say earlier I used play GT7 just for TT, CE or Weekly Challenges.

On 18th June, I took a chance & bought PlayStation Plus membership to try out online racing. Since this date till today, I only come online to play Daily Races or Lobby races which have Manu events simulated. I don't even touch the Roulette Wheel (lol)...just once a month as I hate getting 5,000cr as reward.

Anyway, since 18th June, I've taken in part in a bit more than 1025 online races which just shows how crazy I've become for online racing. I feel there's no turning back for the simple reason - it's more realistic to play against good or bad, fast or slow, clean or dirty living drivers than competing against AI drivers that follow one racing line & same braking inputs.

So buying the membership & discovering online racing after so many years of having GT7 is my loss but it's never too late till it's too late. :gtpflag: :D:bowdown:

That rig is worth every second of the hours it took to set up by the sounds of it!!!!!

It certainly is additive isn't it!!!! I think I've topped out at 401 races since I started 50 days ago šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøEven snuck two in between getting the kids ready for school and going to work this morning

Blue Moon Infield Reverse is a great track. However they need to reprofile how the banking drops into the final adjoining road that bypasses the oval Turn 1. The fastest way through a corner should never be the route that violently unsettles the car because you hit 15 degrees of camber instantaneously.

Unfortunately there's a few track variants that GT has that are decent except one or two corners that aren't profiled correctly or poorly placed barriers protruding out where they shouldn't be.

Could someone tell me a bit about the 3 cars allowed in race C? Strongpoints and weaknesses. Over-/understeery. Good or bad on tires. Who likes what and is there a clear winner for you?

Good bye Blue Moon, till next time...
Here's my best effort, with a big mistake at the 2nd hairpin. I'm happy though; I was able to unlock turn 1 (losing "only" 20 millisec) end gain some lil time at last turn to the World leader.

So, where's the fun then? šŸ˜‰

Since the 911 GT3 R is coming on Thursday and there's a Gr.3 race this week, I decided to use the RSR up until Wednesday before I retire the car to make way for me to use the GT3 R regardless of how its BoP will be.

First session

Started P3 and managed to finish P2 after the pole sitter fumbled on one of the corners. Someone did try to do a lunge on me but failed to do finish it and got a 1 sec time penalty due to likely a track limit violation.

Second session

Started P5 and finished P4. Nothing noteworthy happened on this race as I managed to gain a position because the Huracan driver had a moment on the Senna S which allowed me to take advantage.

Only two sessions today because I'm trying to get a good qualifying time and so far I'm on the 1:33.5s. I hope to improve my time tomorrow.

I did 75 miles in the Lancer for the new Race A with it being my best car by 3 tenths and then I saw first Worldwide using a Mustang. After 5 miles I'm faster in the Mustang by over a tenth. I've never driven the Mustang before that in Sport or 7 so I'm going to guess it will be the best for the event.
Here's my best lap so far that's currently fastest in the US but I do think after a lot of practice a lot more time can be gained.

I used to love Interlagos so much in GT Sport, eating people with the Aston into T1 and T3. For some reason in GT7 I just cannot keep pace with low A drivers. In saying that, Suzuka is not one of my better tracks either, but the cool choice of car and the weather means I will start at Race C and see where it takes me.
