I have not had much chance to do many races this week but i did manage a few yesterday and met a couple of you along the way @brockie and @bone_tone. The race with brockie was a disaster, i got nailed in T1 and it just went downhill then 🤣 I stacked it at the bus stop and quit. I think the race with bone_tone in it went much better and i finished 4 seconds clear. Did 4 races and ended up with 2 wins a 2nd and 1 dnf. Tried 2 this morning and bagged another 2 wins. Managed to get my QT down to a 14.4 but i just cannot go any quicker 🤣 Really enjoyed this combo 👌

Nice to see you out there too, I only clicked who you were when you quit out as I saw your actual psn name, I’ve seen you here and there in other races, and we’ve shared niceties but didn’t twig the Tazzy! 😁

I saw you put that time in and that’s real fast! I’ll give it one last go to improve mine today and some more racing.

If anyone remembers the time when we had Gr.3 at Laguna Seca as Daily Race C, the new Porsche was the meta car. TyrannoCyrusRex who posts weekly antimeta suggestions for Race C had then suggested the AMG GT3 '20 car as the antimeta. By coincidence, it's one of my absolute favorite Gr. 3 cars & also the choice for the current manu event. I'll be driving in this car mostly the entire week as it will help me get better for the manu race at Dt Gardens on Saturday.

Till the Daily Race C gets updated tomorrow noon, I'll be seeing his antimeta vid of this daily race C which was posted about 2 months back to get my braking references in check. Love his antimeta vids by the way.

I’ve never raced at Laguna?

Seems like tricky courses is it similar to brands hatch/spa/road Atlanta where it’s just a mish mash of constantly getting pushed off?

No its usually not to bad especially after the first couple of races.

What is does suffer with is people occasionally out braking themselves so minor rear shunts, or over driving and self inflicted suicides 😂

Otherwise its fine and the sand isn't quite as terminal as it can be at Big Willow.....

The track is comparatively narrow & what makes matters tricky is either side of the track is covered in kitty litter instead of barriers/walls on both sides.

End of S2 & start of S3 zones are the most treacherous parts of the track. I love the flow of the cambered medium speed corners which suits my preferred Gr. 3 car (AMG GT3) a lot.

The biggest suggestion I can give (although I'm just an upper DR B driver) is that You keep it clean & try not to go off-track or spin as there is a chance others will especially in S2. Getting the braking references spot on is the key otherwise going off-track hurts a lot.

If anyone is looking for race C practice tonight then the circuit experience is the viper on RH which only just found out is Gr4!!! Damn it, Gr3 tomo is going to be even harder 😂

If it's any consolation I'm slow in Gr.3. I know Laguna well though; been in every racing game I've played. That said haven't driven it in GT7 apart from one of the licence tests.

You’ll be fine the only choke point for the lap time is the fast T7 left where you’ll want to over brake but under brake and flow through for the corkscrew the only other compression point is T3 because it’s feel not braking that is the better and slightly sketchy way through it

Jesus Christ!!!! Race C - Spa Gr1 - 11laps - RM
That’s gonna be carnage mate, too fast of a car for me 😁

Maybe that means trial mountain for race A 🙏

I’m just doing some last minute DR farming before the kids get up, 36k now 🤣

Oioi - closing in on 40!!!!! there will be a little + next to your name soon!!

Yeah 100% too fast - might be fun on the alt account though for a bit.

Hopefully one of the other 2 races is fun otherwise it will be another quiet week for me

A+ is certainly possible if I use the alt until the next peach comes up, but I won’t 😂

Yamagawa gr4 can be good, solid racing, so there’s still hope 🤞

It's Gr3 in race B this week mate - Was fun in reverse 6 weeks ago but I think that was Gr4 in race C

@Lightsider74 @newmedia_dev @Bondwhar race b for our TT trial?
Mmm

I’m really not sure this week, that race A looks a peach but Gr3 could be something too!! @newmedia_dev I just raced your time at trial mountain 😁 what is that 5th gear all about? 🤣

Signed off from WG with a win this morning, some good racing with quality opponents and got some wins.

Enjoy your holiday Monday guys

I like Yamagiwa a lot and know it well, although not tried it in anything as fast as gr3. What cars will go well there?

Can you folks save your PB lap times please. More fun racing peeps from this thread imo.

I've made a video showing how to download it to race as I struggled to find how to do it initially.

In this case I added an old ghost replay from @newmedia_dev so it obviously doesn't show in the ghost list but any saved from Yamagiwa will be there like my PB is in the video.

wonder what the pro's and con's are of the BMW and 911??

I struggle with throttle modulation coming out of the corners so maybe the 911 would be better?

Love the layout of Kyoto but it's so unnatural to drive with the way the game handles itself, abusing every kerb for rotation and just straight up hopping over the chicanes feels terrible.

Barely works on controller too, using the kerbs takes rotaton off your car so you just get completely bogged down compared to wheel, or the physics bounces you off them and spits you out weirdly because your steering is all over the place.
Switched to wheel and I'm about a second faster in the same car.

Race C should be at least twice as long

Race A: Wicked Fabrication GT 51 @ Trial Mountain
4 laps (<9 minutes race time)
SH tyres
I don't know the start, I'm at work and dg-edge doesn't tell that

Race B: Gr.3 @ Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa
5 laps (>8 minutes race time)
RM tyres
Brake balance
Slipstream? You're the Sweat Mode website, at least screencap the dang cards

Race C: Audi R18 2016 Gr.1 @ Spa-Francorchamps
11 laps (~23 minutes race time)
RM tyres
Brake balance

Anyone had any time on race A? I did a couple of laps earlier of A & B and I must admit, after a week of WG I fancy something really racey this week, so I think I’m going to do race B and choose the Porsche

Any weather in Race C? I'm a sucker for Kyoto but C is tempting me too, though I find the Group 1 cars, the newer ones, really weird to drive. They always feel really stubborn on turn in, like it's too much power, not enough grip.
