Probably the way you take the chicane? At the end of the lap, I found you had to cut to be fast, but that was killing Sr
But no penalties? Im actually pretty conservative at the chicane. I heard from others that might be turns 3 and 4, right before sector 2. But again, no penalties??

Mmm yeah, a stumper for sure.

Nothing good happens at Nurburg so better it just passes 🤔

Since yesterday my SR kees dropping in daily B, no penalties or contact. Im a+ player starting from pole and winning most of my races. Anyone knows something on this?

Penalties and SR are not directly related to one another. You can (and will) lose SR for off-track excursions and contact with solid items (walls, barriers) that do not give penalties.

@Barney Da Dog man you’re getting close to a 29!!!! Great race just now, again everyone just being so chilled, I had to dab the brake and let a couple by as to equalise my passes 🤣 I’m sure I just rubbed them wide, good to see you bossing the field

I had a couple races that way as well. Got an SR drop and I started off the pole and won. Possible swing turns real wide (T3-4), or gravel/grass dips, and how the chicane is attacked. Rubbing another car can do it as well.
Or sliding into T1 🤣 🤣

I’d said a few pages back, that there is a a trigger at the exit of Mercedes, that would be a penalty trigger but it’s off in this setting for the race but I believe the game still counts it as an sr infringement.

I can’t tell if it’s the early run wide or the really late rejoin to the circuit that’s the issue. In QT because it’s not a penalty trigger it doesn’t matter but in race doing it each lap seems to tip the SR flag.

Cheers, yeah some good racing and just a grain of sand away from a crash half the time.
I found some extra pace on A and B a bit late in the week lol. But B is just a bit boring, with little chance of errors affecting the outcome.

You were absolutely right, thank you so much. Had a couple of races where I rejoined the track a bit earlier in t4 and SR stopped going down
Thanks!!!

Good afternoon of racing willows in the trans am, I actually don’t think there was a dirty driver anywhere that I can even remember, between my A level account, my 12k DR B US lobby or my 25k alt, really good fun out there, with like minded folk having a good time!
A good event this one - started the week with a win, and finished with one yesterday, with some great racing in between!

The only downside was racing the same people over and over again...

I reckon you need a couple of alt accounts mate, it was nice to switch in between them for a change.

Fingers crossed A is a peach this week with DR on!

Edit. DR is on but I’m not sure about that car? Any good on grand valley the NSX?

As expected, enjoying Race C to the fullest. Not touching the 155 or G70. Apart from using the antimeta WRX, I'm enjoying racing with SLS AMG & Corvette C4 even. The C4's top end at the back straight is a sweet surprise.

However, PD messed this race to some extent with minimal tyre wear because of which a pit stop can be neglected. RH & RM tyres would've made it more fun. Nonetheless, Gr. 4 racing suits the CGV track to the tee.

Here's this weeks race guide for those interested. As you can imagine, they didn't score well this week being repeats... in fact it's the lowest score ever!

Winds me up I love Gran Turismo so much because it peeves me off to no end seeing how they manage the online of it! I don't think they could do a worse job if they tried.. maybe if they repeated the same combo every week - but I'd say we're only half a step above that anyway.

It'd be so easy for them to do better. I find it genuinely sad, it's unbelievably frustrating.

It's honestly pathetic how much they reuse the daily race combos considering the sheer amount of unused content in this game. I reckon the one extremely easy thing PD could do that would make the online infinitely more enjoyable for every player is to add a "quick match" type mode that randomises from the entire car and track list and comes up with a new combo every 20 or so minutes. Sure you'd get a lot of stinkers (Unimog at Route X anyone?) but the potential for extremely fun combos would also be limitless.

Embarrassing that in this massive sandbox of a racing game with 100+ track layouts and almost 600 individual cars, the multiplayer only ever uses two race groups (often the two most boring ones!) and a single road car at a time. I wish someone could get this through to PD but they won't budge unless the player numbers plummet (which ironically only happens when they try an actually interesting combo).

Did some laps with the NSX @ Grand Valley, and while it's only Monday, I do seem to have a time within the top 400 at the moment.

For sure! I have fed that back after doing them this morning. It's one of those where we have 500+ cars in GT7.. absolutely tons of road cars, tons of tracks alot we don't use often. They definitely don't test them because we've had dailies where we can't enter due to kart mode being on or some other issues so it would only take all of 2 minutes to change it from the NSX Type R for example to Peugeot RCZ Gr.3 Road Car (First car that came to my head) or Grand Valley Highway 1 to Catalunya National (And keep the NSX Type R). Even Suzuka last week, different weather or time of day each time seems so simple.

It's one of the most frustrating things. If they use the community, and I'm not even saying me here, but the community to either test or give some combinations we haven't used before it could at least improve the situation. Don't get me wrong some combinations even from the community may be bad, but at least they wouldn't be repeated!

Gee I may skip this week, seems Brands is the Porsche Cup as expected.

On the broader topic, I can see why PD is edgy about too many roads cars, they are very hard to drive and the weight transfer takes skilled drivers to enjoy it and this reduces player numbers. So I kind of get that, what I do not get is the useless BOP settings rendering Gr3 and 4 as almost one makes in many races and the absolute refusal to use older race cars in Race B or C. Brands this week would be awesome with say a collection of BOP'd 60's race cars. Same theme, they need to use sub groups more often, like RWD Gr4 for example.

It's frankly ridiculous as well because there's clearly two very different sides of Polyphony that seemingly never interact with each other. Almost every road car we get in updates has a plethora of custom aero parts to turn it into a race car variant, and yet none of those cars ever appear in multiplayer, even when there's several cars at a similar performance level that could provide some absolutely brilliant racing against each other. The recently added FTO has a complete GT300 conversion kit, yet the only time players can actually see it in use is by purchasing the Power Pack?!

The JGTC race they ran at Suzuka a few times is probably the best and most ambitious thing PD have ever done with the multiplayer in this game, and yet they never attempted to do anything similar again with the DTM cars, the GT300s, the pre-tuned GT1s? Why would PD throw away so many golden opportunities for absolutely brilliant racing across all these unique categories of cars, just to offer a poor imitation of what every other GT3 sim on the market can already do better? Why does PD refuse to let the sheer variety of cars that defines Gran Turismo bleed into the multiplayer mode? I haven't even brought up tuning yet, but I know that's a bit of a hot-button topic in this thread. :sly:

I think you called it right mate, Brands ain’t much fun!

But I did try the NSX again because I saw this YouTube video and he had csa on and that has made the difference, I at least, can push the car and there is time there to be found from my 2.06

Will see what racing is like from tomorrow but I think I’m here for the week, I wasn’t around when it was here before so it’s a new one on me.

Had a lot of time on my hands this week and naturally spent most of it at Willow Springs. Racing for the most part (lost count but picked up about 120 wins hahaha) but in the final hours I locked in and pushed a little more to try and nail a real good quali lap, was 30th with .656 and knocked that down to a .440 and bagged myself a nice top 10.

Yeah you were smoking around there!
Every time I saw you on pole I thought "aw crap" 🤣
There should be a Weekly Willow race with a different car each time

You have a race every now and then when every major crash or clash, is down to you whether your driving is rubbish or wrong place, wrong time. This one felt like that. Fairly normal, then an ill timed attempt on a 911 and suddenly, poof!

Well race A definitely the place to be this week I’d say, a real handful the NSX but fun when you get it hooked up. Managing to get by on CSA weak but it won’t be long before I ditch that, grand valley a nice place to race,

Thoroughly enjoyed the gr4 reverse track a while back too

Good to see @Duppy Gee out there and winning it! Got some work to do to match his time
