Have to say i enjoy these precision races especially in Gr4 it cuts the wheat from the chaff to a degree.

Started p4 accidentally ended up in a gap I could have taken, backed out of it lost 2 positions everyone got to the end and raced.

Glen what race lap times are you doing in cleanish air?

Just had a really weird experience. I log on and all I do is set the steering angle to 500 from 430 and my FFB was at 7, usually it's 5 or 6 in race cars but I dud a few laps in the FTO TT today.

Anyways, handling feels REALLY weird, like totally alien. Very vague, like the front and back of the car not talking to each other. Also when i lift I was slowing much more than usual, so odd! I figured its the steering angle so go back to 430......nope, still there.

I now figure its in my head after driving the road car earlier today. I start a race, I am 1.5 to 2 seconds a lap slower than normal, so weird! Finally I go back to 5 on my ffb and turn the wheel off then on again. That does rhe trick, things feel normal again. Im all at 6s and 7s though as I'd recalibrated my reactions for the broken steering and huge drag so I had all sorts of issues next race too.

Finally got dialed in and boom, two excellent races in DRB rooms, both were a shot at a win but I don't quite get there and settle for two 2nds but my pace was back, into the mid to high 6s in clean air.

Sadly thats me done for the week I think, I bagged a win or two and gained DR, without my dramas tonight I'd have been back in DRA.

I’ve had that before mate, I remember it at dragon tail in the Atenza, just slow, no reason why, just one race the one it was fine,

But I did sell that version on the car in case it was broken and although I have another in the garage I’ll always use a rental Atenza from here when racing

🤷‍♂️

Good question I wasn’t paying attention in the race, depending on traffic and ignoring the first lap rolling/cold tire start.

Mid to low .5s and more train like traffic high .5 to .6 fastest lap in my race was high .4 but that’s 2 A+ drivers and a solid slip stream lap

Jebus. I am topping out in the high 6's. In B rooms that's enough for wins. There's this huge gulf between B and A/A+ rooms at NGP, like seconds per lap.
I just a few laps and improved again but you are absolutely right there is a secret sauce at the sharp end!

I'm going to drive my heart out in CGV. I feel Gr. 4 racing is well suited there. Plus, I cherish a Gr. 4 abled Race C to the core. I still remember the antimeta car (WRX) gave me good results there which was suggested by TyrannoCyrusRex.

It'll be a punt fest.
I’d imagine self suicide will be the larger issue, especially in the second sector.
Get yourself a European account bud, brands is the British spa 🤣
I’m not sure I’d go that for….thruxton or cadwell maybe.

But it’s one of those circuits that if I’m really in the mood it’s excellent, usually nailing paddock and Druids sets my emotional level for the lap.

I prefer the longer sprint Indy circuit races buts that’s a pref.

Will be interesting to see the Gr3 meta, my early guess is the porker obviously and maybe the lancer or scooby

It's always a punt fest group 3. Folks try to pass up the inside of the two fast right handers late in the lap and barge you off.

And a British Spa! It's way, way too small and dinky for that. Interesting track, great corners but really for small, lighter, lower powered and more nimble cars.

Ooh now you’re talking I live near Cadwell and it’s an excellent circuit, drove gt4 races there in project cars.

Brands will take some evolution, throughout the week, but it’ll be stellar

none of those are good tracks. Grand Valley is a shallow mockery of classic GV. Brands is a relic best suited to 90s Touring Cars at best.
CGV is literally only suitable for open wheels and even then it's still hot garbage. It's the platonic ideal of "straight into chicane into straight into chicane into..."

The thing about doing the dailies only once in a blue moon is that it's super easy to let your guard down and just forget about some of the Sport mode rules the game never enforces in single player:

This little understeer moment into a bit of grass, otherwise inconsequential, was me being reminded the hard way that the game is actually very strict on pit entry and exit lines, and the 3-second slowdown that followed was enough to turn a potential podium fight into a P9 and a DR drop instead.

Don't mean to question that strictness or the purpose of these lines, but gah, it's so frustrating, especially knowing nobody else in the lobby made the same error and stayed on the ball better.

<venting over>

I've avoided Suzuka for years so it is one of my worst tracks. The last time it was a daily C / gr. 3 I decided to finally overcome my fear of being slow. I was 4 seconds off the best time, starting from the back and staying at the absolute back. But you have to start somewhere.

This week I still didn't like the prospect of being the slowest. After a few races I produced a nice result though.

I am now 3 seconds off pace (also in a non-meta car: the RCZ). This put me in P10 in a low B lobby. After a scruffy start on the hards I was P12, and after my pitstop phase I was P10 again. Alright nothing gained but at least I was still on the road.

After my out lap I saw that the people behind weren't closing in on me, and I was very slowly catching P9. Near the end of the race a few people went into the pits for hards. I came side by side for P7 with someone in the meta car exiting the pits. I was on the outside of turn 1/2 but thought better of it and stayed out of trouble. I could outbreak and overtake him at the hairpin, and accelerate out more quickly despite taking a very narrow line and some exit oversteer.

At the end I finished P5! Very happy with this little confident boost. Spoon corner is still one of my worst corners in the game, but if I keep at it I think it will click sometime. Furthermore I have to say most people tried their best to produce a clean race.

I’d have Suzuka gr3 race for a race B anytime it’s a great flowing circuit, I can’t get on with any Nurburgring track so I’ll be glad when this week is over

Had some entertaining races around Big Willow this week, great to see some GT Planet folks @NAXEHT and @brockie
And also @GOTMAXPOWER , who noticed I had worn tyres and helped me make a stop 🤣

🙈

I'm not used to cars with such long bonnets, I thought I was behind but drove right through the white one then didn't see you coming, big red face for me there!

Yeah it's a bit of a weird car - I've tapped a few cars, thinking I was further away than I was. Makes it very awkward when braking behind someone.

It’s a great combo and a real shame it had no DR because I’d of really rinsed it.

I resorted to racing it in all my accounts just to get some different lobbies going.

Maybe grand valley next week could be a little corker like this, just with a faster car, but equally as challenging to race

Good afternoon of racing willows in the trans am, I actually don’t think there was a dirty driver anywhere that I can even remember, between my A level account, my 12k DR B US lobby or my 25k alt, really good fun out there, with like minded folk having a good time!

Since yesterday my SR kees dropping in daily B, no penalties or contact. Im a+ player starting from pole and winning most of my races. Anyone knows something on this?

Probably the way you take the chicane? At the end of the lap, I found you had to cut to be fast, but that was killing Sr
