Your seal of approval is all I need!! Race B it is for me next week??

Is it a bit of a wreck fest usually or a bit calmer?

Hopefully soon sir!!!! Not sure if we match up on the time zones? Are you doing RBR?
Unfortunately I hate Austria track unless it X2019 lol, i prefer tokyo right now with the Gr3 cars. Thats where my pace is at.

It’s fine after the first few races, T1 calms and people get more comfortable with t2 grazing the bollard, the rest is just normal track work. Literally driving the track.

The only choke point becomes the last part of S3 because pace separates massively in that sector and the massive straight means trade off for now or later

Ok sounds good, be good to get back in Gr3 cars as well.

Put 30 mins into quali this morning after abandoning racing after the first one with a Saudi lad sticking me into space! Finally got my QT Down a Few tenths, think I left a tenth or so out there on middle section but won’t do anymore quali. @Barney Da Dog @newmedia_dev grwst times there, deffo out of sight for me!! 👏 👏

Updated info on the dailies of next week:

Ah, yes. They also gave a preview of what the races will be for next week since the Fuji race is supposed to be an homage to the race for the Manufacturers Cup for the upcoming Round 2 of the Gran Turismo World Series this year. Also, I quite like Fuji. I have good memories of it from Gran Turismo 4.

In some good news looks like the meta was spread across 3 cars last time out in Gr3 at Fuji?

@Barney Da Dog i expect to see you with a top ten time this week with the Ferraris being the meta 😂

That's a good time too, it's just so tight there. I'm starting around 8th to 10th, but a 10th more would put me 3rd or 4th. I still don't know how the top guys are a second faster.

Had some good close racing, but it's just a fast train of cars with GR4. Hardly even worth trying a non meta car now ☹️

I actually enjoy the SSRX meme race. I thought it was stupid the first time they did it, but it’s actually pretty fun. Especially with a group of friends in the lobby.
I don’t mind it other than it has a very short half life. Especially if they get the bop wrong

Found the cheat code for this week!!

Get all emotional and wrapped up in my feelings! Dish out some childish justice and get put in with the slow, naughty boys for my first win of the week 😂
Managed to improve from a .470 to a more respectable .283

Time to go racing.
Love that your definition of respectable is to go from a top 300 time to a top 150 time 😂😂😂

A while back managed to play one race with my preferred Mazda. The qualy time of my alt a/c (2:00:292) was enough for pole but knowing there was a R8 behind me, I didn't want to overly defend & ruin my race. I let P2 (who eventually finished P2 as well) to take the lead & I followed him by bumpdrafting him along the way. On lap 7, he hit into a wall sideways a little hard to earn a 0.5 penalty.

On Lap 8 I overtook him for the lead as on the main straight he had to take the 0.5 penalty. Throughout those last 3 laps, I was able to maintain close to 2 seconds worth of gap. Had he closed in on me & could overtake me, I would've let him though again as I rather finish in 2nd instead of outside top 5.

Anyway, I won the race which could be my last Tokyo Race C. So this win was satisfying enough to make my Sunday jolly. Apart from winning, I earned the trust of the player in P2 as well which is what counts at the end.

Also, with my main a/c which I'm avoiding to race with, managed to record a decent qualy time of 2:00:101. My optimal was a 1:59:715 which I regret not reaching upto. This was only possible in the Audi R8. Nonetheless, I've enjoyed Tokyo as it usually presents good racing.

Repeating myself from the update thread but was just having a great race at Tokyo, got from 7th to challenging the lead, only for unexpected error occurred on lap 6. Infuriated. @Gurzu was in this race sadly got a penalty don't know if he suffered the same.

Oh well another session cut short!

This perfectly sums up pretty much the whole problem with GT7. The guy isn’t even in the same postcode as me and just slams it into the corner and accelerates off. Really is starting to take the shine off the game unfortunately.

Watched the rest of his race and it was his actual strategy all 5 laps.

Called him out on it in chat and got a sarcastic, couldn’t careless answer.

PS - yes I’m still filming these on a potatoe and uploading them 🤦‍♂️

On a plus not got my QT down into the 36.6xx but just won’t get a chance to use it.

What irritates me more is that the player at receiving end (You) not only will lose a position (and even more if he would've barged into You to send You into the kitty litter) will end up losing DR too. In such short races & when rejoining at the back, it's hard to make progress (mostly in Races A & B), then it's not fair that a player loses DR for circumstances out of his/her hands.

This is a big reason why I avoid Races A & B altogether. Not saying Race C is very clean but players are mostly patient & try to make sensible moves.

Not a massive fan of that type of move either, normally I’d offer some defensive driving advice (no not take the inside line) but delay the turn in to take the straighter cutback but with that type of driver you’d have way to vulnerable on the outside of the left.

Sadly, you can’t race all of the people all of the time :(

Tbh I’ve improved my defensive/evasive driving based off of some of your previous advice and have switched back on a few people in that specific turn. So deffo taken it on board and it’s been helpful.

However if I start taking evasive action to drivers over a half a second back then I feel that’s just any semblance of actual racing disappeared!

Agreed hence not offering it just saying I couldn’t

Aaaaand for the second time today, just got into the lobby "server has terminated the session".

Disconnected from race C 4 times today... 🤷‍♂️
First in almost 3 years. 🤣

Update is next week, so I’d imagine things will be a little shakey

Happened to me as well probably twice this week. Both times when the starting grid gets displayed on the screen & disconnect. I used to feel bad for the players in that race because such abrupt disconnections some times delay the start of the race.

It gets frustrating for me though as I need to wait another 29 minutes to enter the next race.

2 races on A, and I've seen more penalties than I normally do. Got a 2 second penalty myself for being ran into, the usual.
