I can't remember the last time I had a win (!), and I've had two this week in Race C! The Gr2 cars are so well suited to the St Croix track, and it appears I'm in the "new physics good" crowd too....

I started the week with the Nissan, then switched to the Lexus, knocking 0.5 seconds off my QT. I switched back to the Nissan yesterday, and knocked a full second off my QT, decided the Lexus was easier to drive in the race, so switched again to that today - one quali lap later and I'd knocked another second off!

That put me on pole for my next race (gulp!), quick change to RM tyres, scamper off the line to put 3 seconds between me and P2 by the end of lap 1. Got fastest lap, and the win by 12 seconds 😊:-

That’s great going on shaving so much time off the QT and bagging a couple of wins 💪💪💪💪
 
Today took part in a few Race A's. Was surprised to see so little players in one race. I was purposely taking part in Races A & B to get my DR lowered to B so I could take part in manu races where slots start from 13:30.

In Race A, my DR went up always as most of the grid kept hitting into each other other. In this race where I started P2, I purposely kept the accelerator pushed to get a penalty which

Anyone else having problems entering today's dailies? Trying to enter for Race C, and it just sits there trying to enter for a minute or so, then pops up an error, AF-0E0100.
It's the first time in a while I've tried to do a Monday morning binge on the new race, and I've been thwarted!

And the next race isn't for another hour! I could practice earlier no problem though, just entering the race it gets stuck.

I managed to enter the second race of the day, except when the countdown got to --:-- it just stayed like that, I carried on practising, but no race!
 
I really like the cars and the track in race C but it needs more cars on the grid as it's just too likely to spend 30/40 mins of the race driving around on your own which isn't any fun, especially when a few people quit and you've got 10 or 12 of you spread over a 3 minute lap.

Think it's going to be GR3 at Watkins for me
 
St Croix was 50/50 during the weekend.
Friday and Saturday I was bullied all time, starting from the back. By Lap 3 I had always recovered to positions between 8th and 3rd; to be then killed by someone who sure knows very well what decency is. Unfortunately the majority of punts I got were intentional rather than just clumsy driving, btw nobody waited tho.
After setting a QT ('52.4 on alt) it was always 1st row (sometimes in pole with more than 1 sec margin to the 2nd), so to get several podiums (5 wins eventually) and some more punts. Disconnected twice whilst cruising in 1st, one when 2nd and two during matchmaking.
For this weekend it will be Glenn full time, being a combo where I fell "strong".
I'll avoid La Sarthe combo like the pest, remembering my experience on the same last year.
An excellent week to everyone.
 
Looked a decent week so dusted off the wheel and set a half decent QT for race A.

Entered a race, P2 on the grid, lost a place off the line then spun myself off under pressure from P4 at Spoon on lap 2. Rage quit and packed my wheel away in the loft. So that's that.

Don't you have an alt account? If not, I strongly recommend it. When racing on my alt, I feel so zen. You can do whatever experiment also, like different strategies in race C, trying different cars where possible and, yes, starting from the back to take out all possible pressure of a good result. Btw, on a new combo starting from Friday nyt, it takes me to Sunday afternoon before being able to race basically "error-less". It means 3 to 4 sessions before racing without the classic wreaking race's mistake.

Cracking QT that mate! Agreed it all got a little bit scrappy at the weekend which seems to be a common situation, think @NevilleNobody might have the best idea with packing up for the week on a Thursday.

haha that was short and sweet 🤦‍♂️

You still on Destiny? I popped my shooter cherry with returnal and really enjoyed it so think I might start branching out into a few more of them
 
Took part in Race B once & Race C twice.

Love how with the new physics makes the AMG planted to the track. It's a fun combo but as always wish it was a longer race.

In Race C, as others faced, I didn't continue ahead with my first race as the countdown finished & for 2 minutes I stayed on that screen. So I quit my entry. First race I chose the Ferrari. What an amazing car. It's probably the meta. As I entered without much practice, I finished in 9th & still my DR went up. Inn the 2nd race, I opted the BMW variant. The car seems a little underwhelming when compared to the Ferrari. I finished in 7th & my DR went up again. Crazy to see that half the field quit before the chequered flag.

In the first race with Ferrari, it began to rain in the middle of the first lap. It wasn't heavy rain but mild shower. It kept like this for 3 laps but no one including myself pitted for IM as the grip remained great & constant. Then around lap 8, I pitted for need tyres. In my 2nd race with the BMW, there was no rain at all.

Driving around Le Mans with weather transition is like a dream. It's a fun combo despite the 50 minutes of playtime where sometimes You'd be racing by Yourself. I enjoyed the two races though.

P.S. - Even though I haven't raced in Race A, I was so thrilled doing a few TT laps with the Civic Type R Touring Car. Took me down memory lane of Gran Turismo past versions.

Try the Porsche at least. If any, try the R8 for sure. Can't say how it'll perform. I'll be sticking to FR cars here as flowing corners makes me believe FR cars are such fun to drive around.

Looks like you can choose from the Genesis or the M6 - M6 seems stronger in the race, turns in better than the Genesis.

Never thought about making an alt but i think I'll do this myself. My one and only main is an A+ rank which is super sweaty and due to a long layoff I'm not really ready to dive back into that level of competition.
 
Decent week imo!

Edit: As usual, first race of the monday was people ramming each other and taking you off the track.

Seeing the two things i picked up on last week.

a) crabbing, especially race B final corner, front bites, understeers, rear grips up, bit of oversteer, front bites...... so weird since the patch

b) hitting the gas before the apex and the car is pointing off the track, again race B at the mid lap uphill right. Floor it then swing her around rather than clip apex and power out.
 
Jumped into a C. Zero qualifying, no idea weather was a thing. Clouds moved in Lap 2. I'd started 11th and was up to 7th by then. Ducked into pits end of Lap 3 when it started raining at Mulsanne Corner. Pulled out into heavy rain midway into the IM range.

Quickly moved up to 2nd as people either didn't pit in time or had pitted but for whatever reason weren't happy and therefore quitting.

By the time the rain ended on lap 6 or so and dry lines appeared we were down to 8 left from 16 starters. Race ended with 5 drivers still going :D

I'm gonna love it here this week<3 :D
 
Loving Race A, these Civics are so much fun. They are a bit sketchy and if you do put a back wheel onto the outside kerb at T1 then it's all over 🤣 did 2 races in a mixed lobby of A+/S to B/S and finished 6th and 3rd. Finally got a lobby of all B/S and got my first win. My QT of 2.19.3 has me on pole for now but I am certain I can break into the mid 18's with a bit more time. Will probably camp here for the week 👌 Edit: Tried on my new Oz account an managed to break into the 18's, still a good bit of time to find though!!

Abysmal night at the Glen. I finally get a good long session in and just a miserable, miserable night. I made a few mistakes but dear baby jesus the driving standards are appalling. CONSTANTLY nerfed, especially into the tight left towards the end of the lap. Then if not being nerfed, guys spinning in front of me leaving me absolutely nowhere to go.

And EVERT DAMN TIME I end up facing a sticky wall, like freaking really PD??? JUST RELENTLESS.

Lost 2k in DR and went from S to B SR. Just absolute garbage all round, sort your schitt out PD. Ai this and Ai that..... sort out the penalty system jesus h christ.

I actually have half decent pace, ran a high 46 with optimal mid 46. Tried the popular cars, they all felt pretty bad until I got to the 296 which feels amazing, really hooked up. Just need to watch the brakes, very easy to lock the rears which is very annoying.

Thanks m8 🙏, I recon that an high '51 was possible ('52.3 on main account), but I didn't want to waste time in practice. I know the weekend might be carnage (especially Saturday), but I can't play/train during the week at the moment 🤷‍♂️. Waiting to settle where I work (200 km from home) in order to setup a 2nd rig to be able to play in working days also.
Only then I'll can get serious on a dayly basis.

@NevilleNobody Bare in mind that it's only the beginning of the week, it should improve by the time people will be better dialled with the combos.

Edit: I see the M6 meta "as always" at Glen. Good to see, since I know her well and got my 1st dominant wins in A in it there. The only viable MR seems to be the 296, wich I'll test and race surely on the alt account.

It is, the Hyundai is super fast at the start and the Ferrari slow so thats a real problem. Once up to speed though, the Ferrari is excellent. It doesnt accelerate as fast as the BMW but you carry more mid corner speed and the top end is fine.

In Race C at Le Mons I keep picking up a 0.5 penalty at the 1st chicane. Sometimes I am on the rumble strip and beyond the constant white line and receive nothing then next lap I do not cross the line and get a penalty!
Can anyone actually tell me where the track limits are on the 2 chicanes for this track.
Watching the legend Calster 25 he is actually aiming his left wheel on the 1st right turn to get it way over the blue and yellow rumble strip.
All answers greatly received as I am hitting 4-5 penalties per race 🙄🫣🤠

If you keep two tyres always inside the yellow and blue rumble strip you should be fine.
I attack the 3 kerbs of the chicane in the same way. Two tyres outside two tyres inside.

Best you can do is watch Tidgney lap guide posted yesterday to see how he does it.
