45's is hustling man, cannot get close to that. They see it as fair because they are not penalised, with Ai this and Ai that, PD has no excuses, fix the problem.

yeah agree, there must be a simple solution to this, if you are behind a car and make contact as you pass on the inside then it’s a pen. They must have sophisticated enough AI to work our proper racing line and if the outside turned in. AI can literally build you a website so I’m sure it can trace the intended trajectory of an imaginary car!

I found the pace by really throwing it into the bus stop and maintaining a 115mph speed and also on that right hander up the hill, I was being too smooth on the throttle, playing with it from an early point seems to rotate the car a bit and get me going faster (not sure if any of that helps you 🤷‍♂️)

@Tidgney saying accelerate at the marshal box on that up hill right hander and the left hander that is the 3rd to last corner still boggles my mind and just gets me under steering straight off the track. It really is a tough skill

Here's the win, not the most interesting but adding it here as you can see the type of BS i've been dealing with in B lobbies. I just don't get it, guy started P6 was LIGHTENING fast but chose conflict at every opportunity, he had the pace to win. Even being selfish, once he barged past me, he reeled in p1, who I fought long and hard the race before and lost by 3 tenths, in no time. He could have cleanly passed but decided to be a total turd. Idiots.

On the topic of penalties, I've been exclusively racing the Civics so far this week and not a whiff of a penalty for ANY contact, yet.

Side-slamming until your opponent leaves the circuit, sometimes spinning. Nothing.

Punting at the hairpin, full rear contact, occasionally resulting in a snooker plant into a third party. Nothing.

Understeering an innocent bystander into the dirt though the Esses because you got too excited trying to overtake someone (which is already a bad idea on paper). Nothing.

I'm beginning to wonder what one has to do to actually get penalised.

Almost all the liveries I steal are legit, as is this one. It's from Australian GT racing. Young lady in question was once a professional driver, got her big break at the annual 1000 as teammate to Simona de Silvestro (who went on to race in Supercars and Indycar full time) but she binned the car in qualifying I think, or very early in the race. Her career never recovered so she moved onto OF and makes a good living apparently. As you can see, still dabbles in pro/am events.

Question regarding rank progression. Does your rank increase more if you win a race C Vs winning a race A or B? Since in race C for this week especially the total race time is significantly longer than B. If not I may as well spam race A over and over.

Also the game seems less stable than it used to be. Several times I've tried to load someones ghost car and it gets stuck on 0% and I have to force close the game. Then when I was waiting for a race B to start, it half loaded the start grid then completely froze and I missed the race and had to force close again

You will get DR from the people you finish in front of and lose it to the people you finish behind.

If race A is a 12 car race and you win you will only gain 11 people’s DR. Win race B or C and you’ll get 15 people’s DR.

b and c payout the same so if you’re looking to get quick DR hammer B as A has less cars a lot of the time

They see it as fair because in real life it's being ruled as fair. It's how passing is done 99% of the time in F1, about 90% of the time in Indycar, about 80-90% of the time on Road/Street circuits in NASCAR. Even WEC/IMSA sees that happen more often than it doesn't. Get inside just enough to "claim space" (curse whomever it was that said always gotta leave space) and then shove the outside car off line so the inside car can pass.

The only way you're going to stop it is to individually break them of the practice and since there's no will to do that it's never going to get better. All we can do is use the same strategy ourselves because it's impossible to defend against and still be fast.

Had a good go at all the Daily Races today, the Civic cup race one is fun for a short sprint and it you can nail down the Hondas Vtec chronic understeer, then B is fun but way too short for watkins, had fun with my AMG GT3, then Race C was mental, no rain depsite seeing on many streamers videos which was odd, stil gotta try and nail the strategy for this down.



EDIT: Just to add I got punted on lap 2 of the lemans race by a baffoooony french guy, so I was playing catchup the whole race in the Porsche 936 and managed that. Took a late pit strategy on IM then to RM that paid off somewhat.

Just set a qualifying time of 3:35.530 for Race C with the 963, placing me in the top 5.5k times - not bad!

I styled my R8 GT 3 (older model ) and the Jaguar GT3 like this. Not an exact replica. Your Ferrari really looks awesome; on the screenshot i thought for a split second it's a hyper car.
They (onlyf.) are sponsoring american racing team in Moto GP now, but unfortunately i dont think the liveries are accordingly.

Just stuck 45 mins into quali and shaved 2 and a half tenths off my QT and anuck into the 45.5’s this evening so hopefully have myself starting a bit further up the pack than last night.

This is such an annoying habit and the worst thing is that the guys doing to diving and pushing wide see it as a completely fair way to race!

My new QT did not get me any further up the grid, it actually plonked me in top split with Kizzi and the rest of the aliens leaving me in P9-P12.

Although all my races were pretty much incident free and I ended up finishing P5-P8 in them all, this was mostly due to the carnage that ensued in front of me, so unfortunately the illusion I had that top split would be the holy grail of good, clean, hard racing has been shattered!

I agree with this, I think the majority of the divebombers and "dirty" passers actually have no idea that what they are doing is dirty or not in the spirit of the game. Obviously some are just scummy, but I just can't bring myself to believe that so many people would get satisfaction from playing a game and constantly cheating at it.

The fact they don't get a penalty just reinforces their belief that what they are doing is fair and clean and so they don't have to change.

Kinda sucks that ASM and CSA are now a viable option at the pointy end, should really be disabled in qualifying and rooms above a certain average DR score imo

CSA is disabled in the GTWS races. They should adopt that for the dailies as well.

You're right and I was being overly dramatic to make the point. That said dirty driving has been the hallmark of several world champions in real life racing. Senna at Suzuki. Schumacher pretty much everywhere, Verstappen in F1. NASCAR has always been "dirty" though all the drivers tend to operate within a gray area of "rubbin's racin'".

IMSA racecraft has absolutely plummeted in the last 10 years or so and while I don't watch as much WEC as I do others when I do watch there are questionable overtakes galore.

100% you're right on the punts and sideswipes not being present in formula racing. They are in fenders though. Formula racing relies on the outside driver not wanting to end their own race by actually defending against the divebomber.

Spent more than 500kms today just to improve my TT for Race C. Although, qualy time doesn't really matter but just testing myself to see how good I could go. My optimal was 3:30:31. Nailing all sectors is a little tricky.

I’ll be honest i ignore any time I see “divebomb” or hear it in a stream.

Because a move a tenth or so back is exactly how you are suppose to do a block pass, so naturally it’s from deeper, but crucially the aim is to make the apex/line slower for both cars.

Also it’s not always black and white on the 3/4 tap stuff sometimes that’s poor control or awareness from both drivers, regardless of rights and wrongs of a move you simply cannot go tighter if a car is occupying that space, defensive driving would dictate adjusting your line and accepting the compromise.

On a more relevant note, tried the new physics when I got back….my initial reaction was where the hell did all this grip come from. Need to do a lot more laps but you can feel what they were aiming for with it.

The issue is not the move from the attacking driver to take the inside, but once inside I feel he should be leaving a car's width on the outside and art3mis point is this is often not the case and not punished. Verstappen has been terrible for racing, he just runs guys off the track once he has the inside and the stupid rules allow it.

Sometimes it’s just not optimum to fight every part of a corner. Move the fight to another sequence of the track.

Also, there is a difference between being right when retrospective application of the rules says you were right, and being right but in the gravel, versus losing a place you could have fought to get back later.

YOu're being way too kind. The purple car in the vid I posted was intentionally running guys off, really wasn't anything I could have done or the green car could have done. There was no fight or battle, as soon as he came across us he pushed us off instantly.

100% of the time I will pick right and gravel over capitulate and continue. I prefer right and also putting them in the gravel but sometimes that's not possible

Quite enjoying the journey getting my alter ego Skidmark up the ranks. Been pretty smooth sailing so far. Now in B rank my QT is consistently top 3 with a 1:46.268. I know I can get into the 45's as I can go faster on some sectors, it's just putting in the time to put it all together in one perfect lap that I can't be bothered to do. As long as the DR goes up with each race I'm good. Pretty much won every race up until B rank where I've had a couple of 2nd places and that one back in D rank where P2 punted me on the hairpin in race A. Think I finished 10th as a result.
Seen some bad driving especially in the C ranks but some in B as well. Some drivers will fight tooth and nail to keep their position to the point they overdrive the car, drop a load of places then take their frustration out on everyone else. Really pathetic. Better to give the position up and stay in the slip and try and get it back later but throwing a hissy ruins the race for yourself and everyone else.

I know they put all the SR S drivers together but then from there do they group the highest DR together or the fastest QT together?

Just curious as I’ve been dumped into top split the last two evenings and I’m just not at that level yet to compete.

There's 4 factors:

• DR
• QT
• How many players online
• What was your last race result

I noticed this since a while. Fi: started on pole by 0.5 sec to the 2nd and finished below 5th? The next race you'll be still on pole, but with more margin to the 2nd. Finished 1st dominating? Next race the 2nd will be much faster, like only few tenths slower than your QT. Still winning? Next race you might not be on pole anymore.
That's my personal experience.
The craziests were some Mondays when I was still in B but in pole against drivers like Damien or Naif (they weren't starting from the back btw, just behind me) in combos such as Daytona oval, Meme race, Willows, Autopolis or Glen.
It's still just my assumption; I can't prove it 100% true.
