I think you can, my S1 was pretty trash like 3 10ths worse than my previous best. My S1 for my fastest lap was 47.450, I've had it as low as 47.1 before, but hooking a whole lap together is the hard bit
Yeah it's frustrating trying to hook it all up, I can get through S1 in 47.1xx

Had a couple of laps where I hit that and got though S3 at 1.26.4xx but screwed up the chicane both times, Think it could have been a couple of tenths better but hey ho.

Not sure if I will get a chance to get back on this week but hopefully maybe a bit of a session on Sunday.

Think you'll be able to hook up S1 and get yourself into the .6 or .7 ?

The key to the chicane is to get the car rotated enough so you can throttle out quickly without spinning, which is tough when you have curbs to deal with. You only need a tiny bit of throttle between the tight right hand into the left hander.
I only bother to improve my QT if my grid position is worse than 10th really. If it's 10th or worse I always seem to end up in battles on lap 1 which just makes us all fall behind the slip train. 10th or better is OK as usually at least 1 person will spin out, usually 2, so that gets you an 8th place finish which will typically improve DR. My current QT is putting me top 6, I was second earlier but if I get bumped up into the same lobbies as Digit it's probably going to be 8th-10th. I can only handle 2-4 races each session because it demands so much concentration

Going to sound like a broken record here. Naturally I'm on holiday next week so of course it looks a good one.

Race C is going to be utter chaos. There is only one flowing racing line + narrow track + new track. Nonetheless, will thoroughly enjoy Sugo. Already a fan of the layout despite it being technical.

They STILL cannot get the right car at Sugo. We've had EV appliances, Group 2 cars that are way too fast, Group 3 that are too fast, and now likely a crappy handling road car with no feel.

It is SCREAMING out for the Caterham or Radical, or older race car like the 60's Jag or Alfas. Something lighter, grippier and a bit slower.

The TT at Sugo was created wrong. Such a powerful car on sports tyres..........really? That too on a new track. Users won't know if their off-track moments were due to car+tyre combo or because of not knowing the new track.

The track is narrow similar to Brands Hatch. Not being biased but Sugo would suit Gr.4 more than Gr.3. Anyway, I'd love either class there as I love Sugo.

I can't wait for the first Super Formula race at Sugo

The track experience/tests uses a Group 2 car and it is just too fast, misses the point of the track entirely.

The track hosts Super Formula and Super GT races in real life, so Gr2 is entirely appropriate.
Sounds like a skill issue to me

Yikes, race C in the A+ lobbies this evening is awful. 16 player grid, only 11 finished the race, the rest DNF'd. It's definitely more mellow in the daytime. Was also just in a lobby with D.Chafe, 17th on the player database. Saw him bin it a couple of times (by himself) then he quit. I guess to be an alien you have to drive on the absolute limit at all times, so any tiny mistake will always end in disaster.
Can anyone explain just how the DR rankings and match making works? As there's a progress bar under your ranking, mine is just barely in the A+ rank, yet I'm in the same lobby as Chafe who's vastly better than me. Is it just due to lack of other players for the game to match us with? I just checked and his DR points are 107,551, mine is 52,409, less than half. I suspect LMU is going to steal a lot of the remaining playerbase as well.

Yeah it does, but it's fundamentally a small, tight track and racing will be better with cars a little slower. The new Touring car and the existing touring car, civic and toyota I think they are, would be pretty awesome I reakon.

I think I’m settling on the GTR for interlagos, it’s really a great spread of cars, tried the Jag today which has some speed but isn’t great over the kerbs,

Managed a win today, from 5th in BC and got a blue SR, but as soon as I manage a couple of clean races, there is someone who just funs it up and you’re there looking at a SR red thinking FFS!

Anyhoo, I’m away the weekend so will get back Monday to a new bunch of races so have a good one peeps

I think it’s the highest ranked DR that have a full safety rating. As soon as your safety rating drops you drop out of top split.

So my understanding is that you have the one of the 16th highest DR of the players currently online at that time in your region with a full SR

Fair enough. Doesn't that encourage dirty driving though? Spend a race punting drivers but still placing highly, then next race be dropped into a slower lobby with a better start position and take the win?

I mean it's already happening along with myriad other ways to abuse the DR/SR system that PD refuses to do anything about.

The only solution I can think of is to make SR a much narrower band. So if you punt 1-2 drivers in a race and get penalties for it, you lose an entire SR rank, so next race you'll be matched with DR A+ SR A drivers, but those drivers are still closely matched to you in terms of DR score so the races will be equally hard. Keep punting in that race and you drop to DR A, SR B. Doesn't seem right that a guy with literally double my DR score is in the same lobby as me. But I guess the playerbase has thinned out a lot too. How many active players are there, do we know? I'd guess around 20,000. Once GTA6 drops I bet that will half

Rage quitting after spinning yourself off on T1 was an effective strategy for me 😂😂

The only potential solution I can think of with regards to SR/DR tomfoolery is (at higher levels, anyway) to tie DR gains to clean races. People might be less inclined to sacrifice the thing they are chasing in favour of something they clearly don't care about.

I feel you. When my DR is A, I get sorted with expert players who have incredible qualifying times that are insanely hard for me to ever reach... :(
