Anything that helps to go as fast as possible is more than welcome.
It's kind of meaningless pace if it's just everyone getting 2 tenths faster from an assist imo. It cancels itself out and you're not learning anything - nothing is changing relatively.

Well, every little bit helps.

Man... did you even read what he said? You’re not gaining anything. Everyone is, so no one is gaining anything, essentially.

Okay.

EDIT: By the way, I'll stick with the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept for Race B. I can use the Corvette for the online qualifiers for next year.

Well, Race B has lost its cool for me, I'm sorry to say. It's sorting me with players who have outrageous qualifying times that are just always so hard for me to reach even with lots of effort and practice and I just don't know how to move up far from where I started. Any other controller users experts on moving way far up from where you started?

Isn’t ABS an assist, if so then should we all turn that off!
I know, I’ll get my coat 🧥🤠
I guess the argument is these, bop underpowered anyway cars shouldn’t be benefitting from further assist twists,

I found I was quite slow in the TT at the Glen, not at Willow, so it’s going pee me off if im off the pace due to that

Well, just for inspiration, I started a race in B last night, usually I don’t touch Friday night but I sneaked one in, started second from last, nearly everyone on 47s, against my 49.2 - last player was an A+ with no time! 6 further A+ At the start, finished 10th with a DR increase 😁

Dodged that one for sure

Thanks. What car did you use and was it on controller?

The Lancer, I generally stick with the car I got my best time with,

Wheel
Okay, thanks. What kind of wheel? I wish the two Thrustmaster wheels I tried using in the past could be more reliable. The first one I got was a T598 and its pedals let me down. The second one was Ferrari-themed and it had better pedals, but the wheel stopped working not long after I started using it for some reason and I returned both of these wheels for their shortcomings.

Get yourself a fanatec mate, served me well, I guess they’re pricey but I’ve only experience of those, had a t300 before that but my gtddpro took it to the next level on improving my times and overall experience

But maybe them moza are decent and look to be at a better price point,

And then look at a wheel stand pro to hold it all together and a ikea penang/poang chair,

Just grab a credit card on 24month interest free and wax the lot on it 🤣🤣 treat yourself mate 👊

Thanks. I'll think about it. 👍

I'm waiting to see what Moza does myself, seeing I have a G29. Maybe better off waiting yourself @Andyxdr before looking at Fanatec

Ditto for me Mate....Bought a G29 two months back. Will upgrade to a DD wheel for sure as the clipping is annoying with this wheel. Plus, the brake pedal is a big disappointment. Hampering my trail braking progress.

I’m sticking to with the lancer too but I feel like we are leaving time on the table as everyone seems to be in the supra now. Haven’t seen any lancers in the races today.

For the guys commenting on wheels, for a cost effective option I recommend the Logitech RS50 highly enough. I’ve had mine since zjan and it’s been amazing and it’s quite a bit cheaper than fanatec

Edit: just had a great bunch of races in Race B. Was on Sim GT’s stream and a bunch of his community were in the races. Makes such a difference when everyone is clean and respectful. Any A drivers looking for clean/fun races then try and tie it in with his communty, highly recommend

Same in my lobbies mate but seems to be not that much difference between supra, lancer and gtr at my level at least, can imagine at yours every little helps - I’ll check some replays later and see if I can use that supra,

@Thorson1987 spot on mate, made me chuckle again 😁

It’s the top and speed of both Supra and GTR.

I will get a better exit on last corner and pull away a tenth and then from coming out of the tunnel to T1 those 2 cars can pick up 3 or 4 tenths. Really pulls it along once you get above 150mp/h where as the Lancer kind of stalls out.

Not me anymore, im officially in the technology age! Thinking I might become a streamer/influencer now 😂

I’m better with the gtr and started with it so I might give that a go,

Just watched the number 1 time of Serrano 😳 short shifting the supra and how do you shift down from 6 to 2/1 that quickly, crazy

I’ve not watched him but I learned at Tokyo that short shifting the Supra can give you a couple of tenths.

Good luck with the GTR, look forward to seeing a PB posted 🙌💪

Been booted from the server half way through the race twice today and both times it took max DR and SR from me 😟 rest of the race went on so must be an issue my end

He's not worth engaging. Dudes insanely hyperfocused on being the best in the world after 10 minutes of playing, doesn't actually listen to anything anyone says or suggests, and won't ever learn. You're wasting bandwidth reading and responding :D

Yeah, you're right. It almost seems like borderline trolling at this point, considering the way the conversations have progressed... Leaving it.

I'm sorry, guys. I just have trouble figuring out what to do in the game, even with the advice.

Also, I did more than 36 laps around Grand Valley and that took a lot more than ten minutes and I was only able to get my qualifying time down to 1:48.494 even with all those laps. I need to master rolling the joystick along the rim to steer and go fast with a controller, don't I? Traditional simple left or right joystick movement is sadly still severely ineffective. A substitute for trail braking would also be nice.

If those can't work, then I guess I'm just not the champion I want to be and champion controller users like Calster are still very rare even with so many updates. I'm sorry for complaining and giving the impression that I was trolling. I'm thinking about getting a good steering wheel someday. Using a controller in Gran Turismo 7 really does make me feel handicapped.

48.4 IS NOT BAD. There are thousands of players who would love to get that low a time. Just enjoy the game at the level you are at and try not to obsess about it. Improvement beyond that level is not going to happen overnight.

Told him that 1000 times, doesnt listen. What's going to be hilarious is when he gets a wheel and is 2 seconds a lap slower and it takes a month to even get back where his controller times were.

Thanks and sorry. I know it's a great lap time, but the main problem is the fact that because my rank is A, I'm put in lobbies with people who have even better lap times at least sometimes. That hurts my willingness to continue participating in daily races. I'll try to take it easy for now. I'll try to get better in the future with the controller.

I said I’ll leave it in my previous post but I’ll just add one more thing here. Instead of complaining about it, see the opportunity in getting sorted in lobbies with guys above your current skill level, racing them is how you will learn to become even a bit quicker. The contrary, getting win after win against people who are worse drivers than you and no match doesn’t teach you anything of value given the goals you’re setting for yourself.

I understand.
