Fifteen minutes. Engine swap, aerodynamic parts, weight reduction, suspension, transmission, differential, etc. Mopars crazy tuning (where the car always drives downhill😆) works quite well.
Fifteen minutes, and then three hours of laps and fiddling! :scared:

What are your suspension/damper/lsd settings? I can’t find anything that prevents me from flying off the road at a couple of key turns with the elevation and camber changes.

I’ve just had a crazy race in race b. I was defending p2 for basically 5 laps solid against 4 cars all within half a second of me for most the race. The broadcast replay shows how ridiculously close it was and when I got my obligatory track limit pen on my last lap I feared the worst. I’m pretty sure everyone behind was quicker than me (might be relevant to another polarised thread on here!) so it was pretty intense.
The replay below if you want to see what a man defending for his life looks like lol!

lol watch his vid. He has time penalty and one by one the other cars around him pick up time penalties too haha
I’m surprised anyone watched it to the end! I was so lucky. I didn’t realise everyone behind me had penalties, I moved off the racing line expecting to lose 4 places but then everyone stopped lol. Ok, I’ll carry on as normal then!

I used Mopars tuning without tweaking anything:
Here's my updated lap and tune for Race A that's still in the top 10.

I found something: braking.

🤣🤣🤣

But seriously, you have to brake very early, get round the corners with a bit of throttle, straighten up the car and then hit it. Oh, and I use TC1.

Any recommendations for mid-tier cars to use at C? Lexus? Mustang (Stang might actually be good)? AMG? FT1? Skyline?

The Mazda Vision is pretty good but it's quite slidey through the long lefts; as is the Ford LM II.

I'm loving the M6 Sprint version for Race C this week

During last week I did some research on credit earnings in daily race A. Here’s the result for whoever’s intrigued. I guess we all already knew it’s way too low but it’s interesting to get the actual figures. 88 races. Anyone able to do some decent comparing work online v offline? Keep in mind that these races are with competition way above offline AI which makes the whole thing even more bizarre.

Race A will be missed this week. Enjoyed just racing for fun and having a laugh with a few familiar names. Back and forth in chat and close if sometimes chaotic racing but all good natured.

You might surprise yourself. If you can get to B then getting to A is just a matter of consistency.
I'll miss this weeks race A. In the right hands I'm sure the Huracan could be an absolute weapon at Bathurst, I can't get everything out of it but had my fun:

Kinda late response here but yeah, I’ll miss it as well. It was a really fun week. Well done to you both in the races we shared. One race which you included a bit of in your video I felt I wanted to put the whole thing up. Bit funny and ironic it ended up being one of the two times I used the Beetle, which really isn’t my usual choice. Sorry, but it’s not exactly a looker, to put it mildly. At least I got ahold of a nice livery to mend the visual pain!

The Mazda Vision is pretty good but it's quite slidey through the long lefts; as is the Ford LM II.
I’ve not actually done a race yet in daily c but I’m going to use the Lexus ( on prototype version). I set my fastest quali lap using that car. Over the chicane I find Thai car rides the curbs well.
M6 was fast but the chicane curbs was always unsettling the car for me and I lost time.

The M6 is good for sure. Probably the second best car followed by the RX Vision. My issue with both of them is they're unstable going over the chicanes.

I have been impressed thus far with the Corvette and AMG. Tried the Lexus and it was okay as well, but higher on tire wear than the others. YMMV. I think I might try the Evo next.

3 races at the Glen for me. Didn't improve my qualifying time and I don't think an improvement would have helped any.

Race 1 sees me in another stacked lobby and it was the dirtiest race I've been in in a long time. I'm all the way in P15 to start. Because of all the dirty driving ahead of me, I can't break free and gain some distance from the mess. I'm getting banged around and I'm getting frustrated as there is no where to go on track to get around. Many, many dive attempts and NASCAR style dump and run attempts have me on edge. On the final lap, I get an off track penalty on T1 entering a bit too hot. Then another penalty coming out of turn 8 and I give up and crash into the barrier as I've had enough. P16 dead last finish.

Race 2 I start P4 in an all B rank lobby. Nothing of note in this race except I almost lose it in the last lap exiting turn 6 when my front wheels weren't at straight as I thought. I finish P4 where I started.

Race 3 is another all B lobby, but I'm in P13 to start. My race is over on lap 1 as I try to avoid a wreck in front of me only for myself and another driver to hit the grass and spin. I finish P12 due to a driver purposely trying to ram me into the barrier on the last lap. Enjoy P11 you dummy.

I'm very frustrated after tonight. The track is great, but it might be just beyond my skills. Being in the stacked lobbies starting in the back probably isn't helping, but I have no control over that. I might do 1 or 2 more races then start practice for Season 2 of the World Series Manufactures Cup tomorrow.

I've had a few disconnects before, but this may have been the first one I've had on the final lap, while leading the race.

I've genuinely never seen that happen during a race.

Um........tbh use whatever car you are comfortable with but you will more than likely get slaughtered by anyone in a Supra. I tried so many different cars earlier (Merc, Lexus, Mazda, M3 Sprint etc). Eventually i just admitted defeat and drove Supra for my last couple of races.......in saying all that
Race C is where it's at, even though i was going backwards most races i still really enjoyed it.
I tried Race B as well but i found it pretty boring. Even at 10pm uk time the lobby i was in had everyone from A+ down to C Dr

I’m the afternoon/evening it was fairly full.5 or 6 A+ and rest As each time. It was just the same people every time though so jd they went it’d probably be a bit deserted.

Race B quali down to 1:54.0xx and it was all bus stop. Still losing time there and need to chuck it in faster and learn how to catch it. Love the rest of the track, hate that chicane.

Heh, I through it was just me for struggling there ...

Ah the problem I have pretty much every week.
I struggle so much with meta cars. Gr4 - GTR, Suberu, Alpha. Gr3 - Subaru, Beetle, Supra, M6. Just don’t know what it is but I can never find the same lap times I can with other cars. And like you say as soon as I race I can quali high up but those behind in the meta pass me.

I need to really learn these cars but after struggling with them for 5-10mins I just give up.

I have a question on racing etiquette.
I was in a D class race with purely S sporting level drivers.

I watched a replay back of my race and then watched the competitors races too. One particular driver was generally clean but made up 3 places by repeatedly diving down the inside of the corner and forcing the car that was alongside (previously in front) to break to avoid a collision.
Occasionally, the car that was being passed was able to stay on the racing line and make the place back as they took a better line through the corner but most of the time they had to brake and lost the place.

To me it seemed like dirty driving but it was effective. What are your opinions?

I have the exact same question! People are doing it to me on race A, and I always assume they’re dive-bombing me and I clear out.

Time Trial most efficient way of earning credits in Sport Mode, confirmed...

In continuing to try some different cars, keeping in mind that none of them will be able to beat the META, but regardless:

Evo - Very good IMO. Really enjoyed the Evo. Handles really well, especially the two long left handers. There was no issue with understeer or sliding through them; it just went where I wanted it to. It was also pretty good on tires. But, of course, not so good on straights.

BRZ - Pretty good as well. Similar to the Evo is most areas except to me it didn't handle the long lefts as well. The BRZ was a little more slidey if your brake inputs were even a bit too much. But, it was very easy to get back in line & tire wear was virtually non-existent. But to no surprise, quite slow on the straights.

The race in the BRZ was fantastic (secondary account). Started P3. In the first half of the race the top 5 or 6 were within a couple seconds. Within those laps, the two Supras in front were fighting a lot and I was right there; a lot of good racing going on. All the while there was a Porsche right behind me. On lap three, P2 Supra went off at chicane #2. Two laps later, P1 Supra went off as well. So now I am in the lead with the Porsche right there. If I had a .500" lead over the next handful of laps I was happy. We had a couple of side-by-sides but I was always on the inside and able to keep the lead.

On the penultimate lap he went a little wide through chicane #2 and bought me ~2.5" lead which was a huge relief. Was able to take it a bit easy on the last lap and get the W. Great and respectful racing from the Porsche (Chilean driver "El_Nade"). He was on my butt from lap .5 thru 11 and could've easily done some dive-bombing or other dirty maneuvers but didn't. Fair play, sir.

Before two days I started with Daily Races.
First day, first win, but now I reached B DR (carried C from GTS) and it won't be that easy anymore.

IMG_20220811_131837.jpg

I drive only Watkins Glen because I love that track and race isn't long.
Alsace is in my favorite ones too, but I can't (don't know) do setup to make that BMW drivable, even on factory settings (without buying parts).

I'll see how will it go with free time, but Watkins is way to go in remaining days.
Almost sure I will lost B rating and maybe get in again - it's the condition of my current skill.
Not to mention that I had to leave my wheel and start driving with DS4 because of throttle pedal error - losing full gas.
I just don't have equipment to remove pedals, bought it, bug it is too big or too small.
Should be 2.5 imbus key, but doesn't go for me.

However, I think I am even faster with gamepad.
Only problem are very fast cars.

I still haven't been able to overcome my "race anxiety" after the incident on monday's race B 🤣. To prepare for participating in an actual race again, I did some more qualifying laps in the G70 (#lunchbreakracing😜). I highly recommend that car for race B. I was able to shave off 6 tenth by just going a bit more reckless into the chicane (1:54:7 now). No problems there. I haven't managed to throw it off the track even once. It's super stable, the brakes respond well to different pressures, and it just refuses to throw the rear end out.

Thank you for this!

@Tidgney, thank you so much for doing all of your instructional videos. I just recently was led to your GT Sport driving school, and it has been amazingly helpful for me as a brand new driver.

To prepare for participating in an actual race again, I did some qualifying laps in the G70 again (#lunchbreakracing😜).
Gotta love me some Genesis:

I have the exact same question! People are doing it to me on race A, and I always assume they’re dive-bombing me and I clear out.
It depends on the way they're approaching the corner. A dive bomb is usually where they dive into the inside line but to the point where the car who was leading now cannot take the corner without slowing well beyond a reasonable amount - if you're both pretty much side-by-side or near enough, and the car dives to the inside but leaves enough room for you to continue around the outside without significant loss, then that's essentially a clean move. It's all down to the event, but that's my rough description of it.

i felt so cool and good when i matched your time this morning... only to come back and see that absolute bomb at the top of my leaderboard. well done!

i also enjoy driving the G70. not least of all because it sort of sounds like a lawnmower or a helicopter.

Well, seems than I can do a decent qualifying, but no racing. Second try at race B, same result. This time I got rammed six or seven times, guys using me as their brake. And then after the chicane I got pushed into another guy, who then punted me - the wrong guy -in the toe right hander once again, deliberately. "Payback", he wrote in the chat afterwards. Well, he should watch the replay.

Whatever, I'm done with it.
