:banghead:Anybody facing issues with daily race B? The race takes ages to start after the warm up ends. This happens every race and most of the people end up leaving when stuck in the lobby. It also gets stuck in the track loading screen just before the race starts. I waited for god knows how long and when the race finally starts I'm the only one in it with only one lap required to finish the race! So frustrating to see this happen

GV track limits are killing my SR, and Monza in the van doesn’t seem like a good way to restore it.

Close to going back up to DR B so may get there first, and then I can do a couple of clean races at the back to restore the S SR.

Having good results with the Huracan, Supra and Mustang.

I don't think CRB affects sr when dealing with non penalty track limits. I very rarely get any penalties but also very rarely get CRB for going wide or a very slight corner cut.

The lag is becoming annoying. It occurs both in World Series events and Daily Races. It is most noticeable when there are many cars around, particularly at the start, when it is crucial to have minimal lag.

It is impossible to predict the position of other cars accurately due to the lag, as they either seem to fly off the track or appear to have slowed down more than necessary. The former can be easily attributed to lag, but it is difficult to determine if the latter is solely due to lag or if it is actually happening. Consequently, I have to slow down to avoid colliding with them and pushing them off the track, only to realize later that it was just the lag. This creates a dangerous situation as I end up slowing down in areas where I shouldn't.
Is this problem happening also this week?
I didnt race yet and was hoping the lag was something specifically related to daily B from last week.

Lag through the esses on 1st lap at deep forest was something I dont wish to my worst enemy.
Pure carnage that we saw race after race in PS5 US servers at least.

Race B is a killer for DR/SR I reckon.

Was all going good until the first chicane. However it is possible to have a mostly clean race:

I say mostly because of the final lap but hey ho we're learning.

Is this problem happening also this week?
Sadly yes. I faced it both Daily Races B and C (did not try A).
Lags have also gotten creative in duping me into thinking that there is no lag. Here's an example. I genuinely thought that the blue car behind me backed off to avoid contact in the upcoming corner.

Thank God that there was no contact between us. The blue car and I had great battles, exchanging positions like 4 times. If there was a contact here, there would just have been bad blood instead.
I thought it would just be a meme for a few races and then get boring really quick but god I've been running this all day and it's insanely fun.
I was unsure about trying this race until you said this. This race was definitely fun as long as one in in a slipstream pack. This reminded me of no-chicane-LeMans some weeks ago, but without some rain sprinkled in.

In case someone wants to have fun playing stewardship, here's 11 sec video of mine:

I don't have the race replay saved so this is the only video I have. I obviously can't collect statements by other drivers but I can collect mine. :P
My statement- Near the braking point, I had overlap with the DHL delivery van, so I decided to brake a bit earlier to lower my speed enough to hog the inside line throughout the corner. When the collision happened, I eased the throttle. I still kept off the throttle after being hit from behind. I think that the hit from behind was the reason I ended up spinning the two cars ahead. Only after the end of contact, I floored the pedal.

What do the stewards say? :D

I'm going with racing incident myself. I think he turned in without knowing you were there.

All on him, what you did was fine - he just didn't give you room and caused a crash. You were alongside him for long enough for him to know he couldn't take the normal racing line (if he looked at the radar!).

GV track limits are killing my SR,
Where are the track limit issues? I only had 1 issue in my race and that's because I ran slightly wide. Everything else across the rest of the 9 laps were fine. I didn't see many issues for others either.

3 to 4 - the fast downhill esses before the second hairpin. One line, easy to cut if you’re in traffic or have a little understeer.

7,8,9 - again it’s mainly when you’re battling, narrow, so simple to run a bit wide and over the lines.

11 - a rare one, trying to take it a bit too tight

14 to 15 - the chicane after the right hand tunnel, usually when trying to straighten it a bit too much.

I was not the only one. Constant 0.500 penalties in my races, every lap someone was ghosting through the penalty zone.

Red Bull Ring is like heaven compared to this place. Luckily I’m back up to DR B now so will skip it the rest of the week, just do Nations practice & race instead.

Was planning to try all 48 cars at Suzuka but I don’t know if I can be bothered with each and every car. This is a short spontaneous tier list after 14 races, one with each car.

USED CARS (14/48)
Really good
: PEUGEOT RCZ, LAMBORGHINI HURACÁN GT3, FERRARI F458 ITALIA GT3

Quite nice: AUDI R8 LMS EVO, LEXUS RC F GT3, SUBARU BRZ GT300
Decent/OK: MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG GT3, ASTON MARTIN V12 VANTAGE GT3, GENESIS X GR3
Nah, pass: AUDI R8 LMS, HYUNDAI GENESIS, MCLAREN F1 GTR, PEUGEOT VGT

Jesus christ, shockingly poor: NISSAN SKYLINE SUPER SILHOUETTE

Race B sucks. I mean, I suppose it's possible to have fun, but only if the stars align. But if something happens and you get too far behind, fugettabout it.

I started P10. The guy in front of me didn't start for a split second so he ghosted, which is great. Except he unghosted just as I came up on him, and I hit him. Slowed me waaaay down, and I was P14 or P15 coming into the first chicane.

The good news is I avoided the pileup. The bad news is that I picked up a track penalty for avoiding all the carnage. It was only .5 seconds, so it could have been worse. Came out of there P7 or P8. After serving the penalty I was P10 again.

Then on lap 2, coming down the back straight towards the second chicane, someone inexplicably pitted me. I mean, WTF? Really??? Not only did it basically stop me, but I picked up 2.5 seconds for, I don't know - probably hitting the wall. By the time I served he penalty, I was DFL, 6-10 seconds behind the next person.

At least with other races if you get behind, you can just enjoy driving the car. Anyone who says they actually enjoy driving this van should have their head examined.

IMO, this is without a doubt the worst track/car choice PD has ever made, and that's saying a lot. I think they're actively trying to kill the daily races. Maybe they don't want to run so many servers anymore. The connections last week were so terrible, it's honestly a possibility.

Bit harsh!
Road cars of any sort take a completely different skillset to master than it does to throw a Gr3/4 car around a track ad nauseum. You have to master the art of playing with weight and momentum rather than relying on the car doing exactly what you tell it to do. It's a minivan, after all. You have to treat it like one.

I think it's unfair that PD relegate people good in these types of cars to having unranked races only. It's very nice to have an opportunity to improve your ranking using what you specialise in.
There's plenty of people I imagine stuck in lower splits because they aren't so good in race cars but can dominate in a road car. It's only fair the opportunity to rank is there for them as well. I believe @sturk0167 is in exactly that position so it's not like it's an unheard of scenario.

On a more fun note, I had a couple races earlier where I finished 0.04s ahead of the exact same guy in two different races hours apart. What are the chances?

Amen to that. I wish I could like your message 1000 times. I'm glad to see someone who feels the same way I do. Of course, the majority of people prefer race cars, and I completely respect that. For me, road cars are way more entertaining and challenging to drive. They mostly have different personalities and allow for a new experience almost every time.

As @GrumpyOldMan suggests, I'll schedule my head exam as soon as possible :D

You got a good point there. I enjoy the road cars too, and often do better in Race A than the others. But I still enjoy the "GT" cars. I dunno what PD think though sometimes. They have so, so much potential. The tools are all there, they just don't seem to implement them. For example. Why do they keep using the same tracks over and over. Dynamic weather - massively underused. Strategy - no testing it seems, as sometimes there's no point in having pitstops because you can just use the Hards for a no stopper, as that's the fastest strat.

It is. I had a couple races ruined today because of it: cars bouncing all over the place; cars seemingly just driving off the track in unison only to pop back in place a second later; cars coming out of turns like they're in three gears too high (ie, super slow) so I try to drive around them only for them to pop back into place while I go off the track. Ya know, the normal. Thankfully, I've only done Race As today so it didn't hurt my DR but it's still kills the race and is very annoying.

Don't know what it is about the Gr3 cars, I just can't stay away - like a moth to a flame. I've been having fun in the '20 AMG. Make no mistake about it, it's not great but it's okay. I think the MR cars will dominate this combo just because of how planted their rears are. Did a handful of laps in the AMG and did an 2:02.2; did like three laps in the Porsche and knocked it down to an 2:01.6. The Porsche just rotates so well and the rear is so planted coming out of the turns which is obviously huge at Suzuka.

I was in some lobbies where the Peugeot and Renault were both strong; I want to try them and the Lambo as well.

Interesting that the R8 LMS Evo is good and the R8 LMS isn't. I always figured those two cars were like the BMWs or the two Lexus RFCs where they were basically the same in performance. Then again, I've never driven then back-to-back with any sustenance.

You need to try the Porsche. I think it will be the META car here once all the dust settles.

Race A is a lovely car and track combination, just needs to be two or three times the length and maybe have a bit of dynamic weather thrown in. I’ve done a couple of races today and really enjoyed throwing the 911 around, but the lobbies are far from full and I think because of the lack of impact to DR and SR and the short race time, folks are just quitting if they get bumped. It’s a shame as the potential is there, but my win was a bit lonely and hollow (but it didn’t stop me enjoying the car and track and the 2:02.9 in the race was quite satisfying).

I had 1 race at about 830pm AEST time get stuck on the loading screen between the lobby and the start of the race. Cherry on top was having my SR rating drop from S to A as I was forced to reset the game.

Mine would have been the 10:50pm (WA time) race where it locked up

Yeah, well it may align with what most people think but don’t take it as gospel. That’s just what I think and it’s also just after one race. Based on lap times (duh, lol), sector times and general feel. Anyway, as we’ve said in this thread several times, your mileage may vary and all that jazz. Some people like and perform better and worse in different cars. R8 LMS Evo felt more stable to me though and just generally noticeably faster through the lap.

Porsche is absolutely a fine machine here, as it is pretty much everywhere. Anyway, challenge amended. Will keep going and see how many different cars I can pick up a win in. Note that I got tired of no quali after nine races and set a qualifying lap after that.

So far, here we are:

USED CARS (28/48) WINNER CARS (19/48)
Really good: PEUGEOT RCZ (W), LAMBORGHINI HURACÁN GT3 (W), FERRARI 458 ITALIA GT3 (W), PORSCHE 911 RSR (W), RENAULT R.S.01 (W), MERCEDES-AMG GT3 ’20 (W)
Quite nice: AUDI R8 LMS EVO, LEXUS RC F GT3, SUBARU BRZ GT300 (W), MERCEDES-AMG GT3 ’16 (W), CORVETTE C7 (W)
Decent/OK: MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG GT3, ASTON MARTIN V12 VANTAGE GT3, GENESIS X GR3 (W), BMW M6 ENDURANCE (W), LEXUS RC F GT3 PROTOTPE (W)
Nah, pass: AUDI R8 LMS, HYUNDAI GENESIS, MCLAREN F1 GTR, PEUGEOT VGT, MAZDA ATENZA (W), FORD GT RACE CAR ’18 (W), NISSAN GT-R GT500 (W), BMW Z4 GT3 (W), CITROËN GT BY CITROËN (W)
Jesus christ, shockingly poor: NISSAN SKYLINE SUPER SILHOUETTE, VOLKSWAGEN GTI VGT (W), SUBARU WRX (W)

Also doing some credit reward statistics again, 1,008,110 Cr so far (82% CRB) after these 28 races. Will summarise that more nicely later on.

I was going to give my view but....

And @Famine as well.

Risky but not dirty. But why didn't he do a cut-back?
It's funny how the opinions differ from each other. Some (most) people say I did nothing wrong and that they don't know why the discussion is there and others say it was too risky etc etc. And to be fair, I like that. I think it's good to have discussions like these and to see the different opinions from each other.

I just find the daily race decision making as baffling as the Ferrari pitwall! Race B the 'meme' race should have been Race A, Race A the sprint race should have been Race B, Race C the unofficial feature race, well no tire strategy, at least make it a mandatory tire change, no fuel burn and cars that are imo too slow for the track! I feel that GR4s are better suited to short twisty tracks.

It's not like the 'race strategy' guy at Polyphony has to create these every day, they have a full week to come up with a set of regs!

If the room creation allowed for specific car selection options beyond the GR1-GRB i.e Fords vs Ferraris, 1980's etc, then we'd see far more interesting events in multiplayer

Sounds like they were all fair. If the track was how it used to be then there would not be an issue, but we have this representation instead. As usual it sounds like a matter of luck whether you get one or not.

I agree with you. I just can't race in this fugly POS. I only bought one to clear the menu book and may have sold it straight after. At least give us some nice cars to drive.

I tried out Race B first and it's a blockfest in every way. The novelty of racing vans soon wore off.

Moved on to Race C and I never find this version of Grand Valley as fun to race on as the old speedway which is odd because it is essentially the same layout, and the track limits are the final nail in the coffin.

GVH would be more fun with no or minimum track limits, it's mostly enclosed but not in a way that wallriding does you any good so what do they add?
