QT with the car on fumes versus racing where the car starts with a full tank can effect different cars in various ways. Some cars are much more sensitive to fuel weight and others not so much. If you really want to get competitive and test what driving a car is like in race conditions the way to do it is to set up a custom race, specifying the applicable BoP etc to simulate the race with the fuel at max and x1 (or whatever it is) consumption. Do tires as well. Replicate as much as you know. This is also a good way to figure out strategy for C races as well - if you don't want to just dive it and figure it out on the fly.

As to driver quality around you. I find the middle 50% of a DR group is the best. If you are at the bottom 25% or top 25% of a group it tends to get more scrappy with the bottom 10% being the worse. Those drivers start to get desperate to avoid relegation.
I think a lot of the problems in the race come from qualifying. People are braking at the same point in the race as they do in qualifying which causes first lap pile ups. I wish the qualifying was the same as the race as I use it to practice while I'm waiting for the next one.

I managed a couple of races of today which were glorious, p1 had disappeared so it was p2/3/4 racing and I have to say, such clean great racing. It was a pleasure to finish 4th trading places for 10 laps between 2nd and 5th

Sometimes this game surpasses all expectations

Finally have a win this week, been some very enjoyable hard fought races in C this week, surprisingly clean and this was too

Edit. Forgot to say, was also from 10th!!

Edit2. Well another win presents itself, I’m actually starting to like race C, you can’t be thinking of winning until around lap 8, if you are lucky to that point

Told myself that if I couldn't improve on my 1:37.762 Race C QT with the Atenza, I would turn off the PS5 and put on the Indy 500. So I, um... did a 1:37.761. Eh, let's go try to have some fun before the reset! 😬

Race 1: Started P3. There were some clumsy moves by myself and others, but it was mostly clean racing. Finished P4.

Race 2: Started P3. Same as above. I felt that I hindered a G70 with clumsy errors under braking on the final lap, so I gave up the position at the line. Finished P5.

Race 3: Started P9. Bumped wide by an NSX, braking into Turn 3 on Lap 4. Took a few laps to regain ground. Went side-by-side with a G70 into Turns 6 and 7 on Lap 10, and got wiped out. Finished P16.

Race 4: Started P9. Did well to gain positions, but silly penalties began to disrupt my rhythm, dropping me back to where I started. Finished P9.

Race 5: Started P8. Same as above. Thought I could at least hold on to my starting position again, but lost it at the line. Finished P9.

Four out of five races P10 or better is better than Friday, so... yay? Just in time to catch the last 50 laps of the Indy 500!

Awesome time mate, a thousandth 🤣 well, it’s an improvement! I couldn’t quite get into the 1.37s, was just a whisker off at 1.38.1xx

The Indy 500 was eventful as usual, a tale of missed opportunities and pit lane mishaps! The Monaco GP also threw up some drama for once with the new 2 stop ruling.

Now for a last few race C before the switch, see if there’s a couple of tenths out there for me.

Have a good week guys

Sorry for the double post but,

Check this week out, could be fun?

Race A is that new pick up truck and B could be needing a sand buggy 🤣

Can’t say gr3 Suzuka appeals

Hopefully something for everyone
Race A is currently bugged - last week's Kart Usage flag is currently left on so nobody can enter.

Race B is defo one of those slightly annoying ones.... Either way, I'm enjoying it as long as I can start near the front.

The one race I started in the middle, I got absolutely smashed off track and got reset about half a km further back despite already having lost about 15 seconds in the dirt 😂😂

Anyway.... Managed a win just now thank god!

Good to see you there, love a bit of Big Willow. Slipstream a bit nuts though

Yeah.... Confused me in the first race!!!

Great to race with you, I watched the replays, you had some bad luck for sure 😭

I'm glad my bump didn't impact you too much, I went airborne so I'm glad i was able to slow enough to not hit you off track!!

RS and RH combination again (Race C) 🙄

I guess it's all those posts on this forum where people are clamoring for this combination, right? right? 🤔

RM+RH I can get behind. RS+RM I can understand, but in this game there is a massive gulf on time between RS and RH, and given the single file nature of Suzuka, the first few days will be chaotic as people try to sort out whether RS first is best or RS last is best.

I know I am in the minority but I would kill for a fuel savings race on RH tires. I suppose there's too many hot shoes that think racing is foot to the floor all the time, rather than race management. Or heck, how about simply giving us the option to stop or not? RS+RH would be fine if the wear was balanced enough to make an 1 stop strategy on RS take about the same amount of time as a no stop on RH

Willow spring is going to need some real patience this week, that’s one unforgiving track ☹️

If anyone has a nice setup for the pick up truck, I may well have to camp there this week

Yes, you are :D

I understand your point but fuel saving races ends in just one valid strategy that is short shifting to avoid pit stop.
We had lot of this races on the past (the last one I remember was Gr.4 on Nurburgring GP with the WRX as the meta) and it gets so boring at mid week.
I would like a fuel saving race if it really involves strategy (as it sometimes happens in GTWS long races)

Edit: grammar

It seems really strong - can only escape if there's carnage behind
I gave it a few attempts on a burner account (started ahead of you in one), it’s not as bad as I initially thought but it’s not really that good either. Qualifying is absolutely essential because these Gr.4 cars are so painfully slow and lame you almost can’t overtake at all. Utter shame to see Willow Springs wasted on these cars when it finally returned.

When the Carry first came out I accidentally found a glitched build with it maxed at 378pp. That was with CS tires.

Put on CM and my build drops to 346pp fully maxed out. Still not sure how I got this.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Need About 350

Tuning makes a surprise return to the Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races this week, with one of the three new events starting today giving you almost free rein within a Performance Point limit...

Race A looks like a genuine blast! Definitely gonna buy at least two more of the Carry, with the plan to leave one as-stock, one to tune without a widebody, and one to tune with a widebody. That’s also before we consider the possibility that it could get an engine swap in the future, in which case I’d likely buy a fourth!

Two Race Cs today.

First one started P5, got knocked back down to last, but made my way back up to 4th.

Second I started P8, finished P2 🙂 - both races using the Genesis. Didn't see another Genesis, nor, strangely enough given their apparent qualifying strength, any BMWs!

You were doing good! I didn't recognize you - name only shows as a dot unless I switch between names (then I never know who everyone else is  )

I've had a P2 and a few P5s running the 650. NSX seems good and there was also a competitive G70 in a couple of races I did. Such close racing that it's a bit of a lottery with the results.
