Ok sweet, did you save this to "Showcase" or "Gallery", Showcase images look great but Gallery looks poor, very dark and colour casts. Given how dark your posted image is, i suspect it was from Gallery. It's like when someone saves a jpg as aRGB and wonders why it looks rubbish on browsers that can only read sRGB. Got a bit nerdy there sorry.
Just view the showcase from a web browser and save the pic.

“Improvements to online races” coming with Spec III in December, along with the 2 new tracks that will very likely be used a lot at first.

Im very curious about it...
Because so much new off line and nothing about on line (just a random improvements)

I’m on hopium but larger grids would be seriously epic, don’t know if I dare dream about that though.

Probably got to axe PS4. Or maybe keep it going for themselves with lower grids, I hopped on daily on PS4 the other week just to test and it really runs quite poorly when you’re used to PS5 and the participation levels looked poor as well. I’d say that playerbase is quite dead, in relative terms.

Also bring back shuffles, please!!

I noticed this as well last week doing the daily at Nurburgring. I was hopping back and forth between PS4 and PS5 races and in the PS5 races I was usually towards the back of the folks who had set a Q time with the lobbies mostly A+/A - S. Then I'd jump to the next race on PS4 and my time would put me top 5 or better in pretty spread lobbies of A+ to sometimes C - DR.

I think it's the showcase, but to me looks just like a gallery though. Sorry, I'm getting less nerdy whilst ageing 🤣.

Wow, daily C is an absolute SR killer.

3 bump drafts total, all on lap 1, 2 times I was the bumper, once I was the bumpee. Zero other incidents and I went from full SR-S to maybe 10% SR-S.

Won't be doing that again.

Try to minimise the impact lifting just before hitting the car in front. It mitigates the SR loss. If the speed delta is to high your SR will suffer.

This is my lap run, there’s a lot of time to be found here I think, but through the tunnel I seem to hit the wall but gain loads of time the hill, almost glitch like,

The racing has been lots of fun too, you need to ace 5 laps otherwise the gains are unreal, had some real sweaty moments with cars just gaining and gaining by until they tap the wall

Great lap.

There's a lot of time to be found my me - I'm now 2.5 seconds behind your time! I keep trying between races, but can't improve at all.

The oddity with this race is who you end up racing with. In my first race yesterday half of the room was A and A+ drivers, and I started P8 (only 2 had no QT). The next race the room was all B drivers, and I started P16 🤔. I'm a pixel or two above the bottom of B DR, with a full SR.

Given that there are no DR or SR updates surely there should be some consistency with who you race against, and hence your grid position?

I also notice that some of the faster drivers hit the wall multiple times round the lap, and don't seem to lose any time - I catch it a glancing blow and 3 cars go past me 😂!

I think it must mean the player count is low, i was having great races with DR A drivers most of the week but I think it’s turned now, coupe of races this morning I’m just getting piled into,

Coming to the weekend I’m going ditch it and do some Catalunya only to get my DR back to mid to high B in time for next week,

Tokyo is one of those must turn early and snap it around the corner, it’s abit like Mario kart Super NES 🤣

Thank you for letting me know @newmedia_dev !! Feeling light now 😄

Hope to find you and others members again!!

I play with my father, not in same lobby cause he is almost getting the B by now...but we do party together talking live about ours races.

And sometimes he has the same feeling of leaving the game...

Me too...sometimes

But I want a different tomorrow for us that take this game serious..

I believe we'll get good enough to play with the top players/yt on A+ rank where the race spirit bond with max respect.

There is a place that low people cant get. For
Keep the faith, there are a lot of clean racers out there and enjoy ☺️

I am being a pedant and likely should move this to it's own thread but the photos in "Gallery" look all wrong. Way under exposed, lost shadows and colour casts. The images in "Showcase" look fine but I cannot figure out how to either send my own snap shots to showcase or how to find them as you cannot search by user.

Ran a test image last night and you can see the strong warm colour cast vs the one at the bottom which is a random photo i found in showcase.

Will definitely do that if I go again. But to lose 90% of your SR for 3 contacts in a 50 mile race, with no other infractions, track limits etc. seems excessive.
I suspect theres a hidden multiplier for SR calculations wich considers the speed of the car when you make the contact because everytime we race at Le Mans we have this problem and we dont have this problem when we bump draft at Daytona for example.

In just one race I went from a full S bar to a half A for just bump-drafting and one 3 seconds pen for passing a car under yellows.
A very ridiculous pen because the car that I passed was someone who heavy lifted in front of me to wait for the car he just killed.

One tip for recover your SR after a big hit is to go to the back on the next race. Pit on first lap and just stay inside until the race is over.
You will gain most of your lost rating and given the fact that theres no DR involved you wont suffer any loss there

Did 2 races today (with couchdriver) and both very bad...my time was 41.336 and was only giving 10th...

Btw ...accidents a part...im happy that im still on A keeping the pace ...

did some top5 and 2nd was my best (lost traction on lasts turns when 1st 🫠🫠🫠)

...its my record of permanence on DR A

Decided to get a better QT before race and got 41.111...

40s mark is close 🤌

Hard training is giving results...🙏🙏

Well I did try this once, parked it after 1 lap and gained maybe 10% of my SR back. That's no fun so I went 2 more times, 2 CRBs and still only recovered to around 50% SR-S. So it appears not only is it extremely easy to lose it if you're not super careful, it's much harder to regain it.

That said, it's a great race and I'll likely do a bunch more. No DR is a little off putting, but in SR recovery mode it actually is a good thing.

edit - sent you a PSN friend request :)

Tried the fezza in race b, wonderful handling it has to be said. Still, despite a qt within 2.5% of fastest in the world, most A drivers have me beat, I am just not carrying enough mid corner speed. Still, had some fun races and gained ground in all of them as I kept my nose clean and watched the carnage unfold around me.

The horrendous penalty system strikes again.

A famous crasher on Catalunya takes the inside of the first corner by force and pushes me out.
He gets no penalty.
Later on I catch up and he brake checks me.
I get 2 seconds penalty.

Don’t rise to it, it’s very very hard I know and we are all human, but for fun and your sanity when you see such people just mentally write the race off. You’ll be a lot happier trust me.

I had some great fun at Catalunya last night, despite my horrendous quali time. It's a real golden Group 3 combo, of which for me there aren't very many.

I'm addition to my own shortcomings, I experienced a few bugbears during the race. Namely yellow flags appearing right at the moment I was trying to execute an overtake which I had been engineering for a few corners. Twice in three races Mr. Yellow caused me to have to back out right at the critical moment. Not to mention another race where I (P16) took out a wiggly P15 at turn 2 and then spent the remainder apologetically racing him one-on-one.

In summary, waiting until Thursday night to get behind the wheel isn't recommended.

Just did some qualifying for Race C, using the Mercedes-Sauber C9, and got a time of 3:15.200, which is within the top 3.5k!
Wow, that's impressive work considering the track and challenge. Have you ever gotten within the top 4,000 players? See, I don't pay attention much to looking at people's status and profiles for the game.

I've recently started playing daily races. Most of the week played daily race A as I love Tokyo. The Honda Civic is so much fun to drive. Played the daily race C a couple of times. The night transitioning into day over the 6 laps, weather lottery & the rule of compulsory 1 stop makes it fun too.

To be fair, except from the very first race, every following had many people dive in the first corner. The straight is long enough, i could always get half a car length aside the car in front of me at the start. I back off, just so that the one following us isnt taking my spot... But "car physics" at turn 1 catalán race, the car behind me didn't break at all or way to late, he tried to avoid crashing me by turning right, still hit me on the right side. He got like catapulted over the sand not ghosted "flew" into the ferrari in front of me, which yielded away into the abyss. Looked funny, nearly comical.

I just improved my Race C qualifying time by nearly a whole second! Now it’s down to 3:14.236, which is just barely within the top 2.3k!!!

EDIT: Here was my result from trying a race. A clean Q3/P4 - not bad! I finished 6th, but I guess two racers ahead of me didn’t get the memo on the mandatory pitstop! What a thrill!
