The NSX is meta in that combo, don't worry. Just take care of your tyres and it will be fine.Race C looked interesting, so I did some qualifying and managed to get just outside the top 6k, using the Honda NSX Concept-GT. I wonder if that's necessarily any good for Race C in general?
Apologies, I meant the fact that I’m outside the top 6k for qualifying times. The NSX is meta in that combo, don't worry. Just take care of your tyres and it will be fine.
Nevermind. It depends on your expectations. The Gr2 aren't easy cars to drive. It's needed a smoother driving style compated to Gr4 or Gr3. Never "gas it out" of corners like lower categories normally allow; be gentle. Avoid braking deep, brake before, less and trust the engine brake. That helps carrying more speed in corners and saves your tyres. Racing, even from the back, might help you find some pace to then improve your QT to get a better grid spot. Up to now there're ar 22"500 participants. You're inside the fastest 30%. The matchmaking is btw weird at times, so you might start on the back in the first few races and find yourself in front if you have positive results (8th or better at the finish line).Apologies, I meant the fact that I’m outside the top 6k for qualifying times.
Ah man, sorry about that. Which car are you using for Race B? I've found the Lambo and Ferrari work best for me, both with the BB set to +5YEah I am out on race A, what a waste of a fabulous little car, nothing but crashes, i end up turned around on lap one literally every time, total waste of my time. Race B is also total rubbish track, the Sprint circuit is all the worst bits of NGP with all the good bits missing and again, wrong car for this track. Now I have been shuffled back down to DR-B due to finishing at the back in 5 straight Race A's, I may try Race C, just to see if it helps me get gold int he time trial. But yeah, Autopolis reminds me of the yabbi dabbi GP track, it would benefit from removing corners. That last sector, if it just went straight on 3 corners from the end it'd be great but that last mikey mouse bit is horrible. Not a good week.
Did You see @Tidgney 's lap guide for this?Ah man, sorry about that. Which car are you using for Race B? I've found the Lambo and Ferrari work best for me, both with the BB set to +5
I set my Race A BB to +3 and that gives me the best times. My biggest issue is hitting the best brake points
Yeah the one and only stint I had on NGP was in the Ferrari, you’ll probably see it in your leaderboard, I liked my livery 😁 but the race was sweaty, I got punted into P1, escaped a pen and then won, but it wasn’t any fun, so I’m going to await next week and hope my mojo returns.Ah man, sorry about that. True...No need for me to touch Race B or C this week. That tricky Sardegna layout coupled with the so-responsive-it's-like-smoking-crack Red Bull Junior keeps me coming back again and again.
Although I do quite like Autopolis, I'm out of my depth in Group 2 when residing in DR A. There's been enough superior racing at that venue recently, and despite singing its praises, Group 3/NB Sprint isn't the same since the underpowered BoP was brought in.
Back in Italy, I think that most of the careless driving is just that. I can't say I've seen any outwardly dirty driving (there's been some questionable ethics), and I've not seen anyone seeking retribution for perceived slights, which is encouraging. There's no doubt that it's a total SR sink, which is unfortunate. By coincidence or otherwise, I apparently am only allowed a post race blue SR or DR, not both!
I think the key to staying out of trouble is simply to use the car's maneuverability to your advantage. You can drive away from most tangles with enough foresight and rapid hand-eye coordination
Plus, we all love free places, don't we?
I never watch those lap guides (no offense). I use the controller, which is slower to turn, and rearward brake bias helps me get faster times.Did You see @Tidgney 's lap guide for this?
Man I watched the replay, whole race he was up your behind, could smell what you had for dinner. I see you both off the track (I was P4 at the time) at the last corner and I figured he tagged you, watched the replay and yeah this car HATES kerbs, just hates them and you were a passenger but totally sent him to Narnia. He likely figured you did it on purpose or was being a goose but if he watched the replay he will see you were likely being a bit too careful if anything.Ooof
I ended up in a race last night with @Mc_Yavel and @NevilleNobody. It was going SOOO well. I had the lead for the majority of the race but screwed up in the last section and lost the lead.
Coming into the final chicane, before that last right hander, I clipped the curbing and totally lost it wiping out the leader, and myself in the process. Needless to say, the other guy was irate and rightfully so.
Ah yes, it was me! Saw you had pitted and stayed there, and I finished one place in front of you...Wow race C is hectic. I discovered that apparently I still had a drivers assistance on: countersteering. I switched it off, and did my first race of the week. Started P5, but everything went wrong quite quickly. People pushed me off, and I kept spinning off by myself in addition, so I parked it into the pits. I believe I saw @bone_tone in my lobby! You were not faring so well either, but at least slightly better than me.
I directly jumped into a second race. Started P8, but this went much better. People were making mistakes whereas I kept my pace and rhythm... until the pitstop where I clicked on IM tiresYou cannot reverse this choice? I just walked away from the TV in frustration. I think my SR took quite a beating and my DR too (tanked it all the way down to almost DR C by racing a lot without qualifying). Maybe I just crossed the treshold into C now this race is about to finish.
