I’m not sure how I’m going to stay in race B all week, seems the time is in severe track limits abuse 🤨
Somwthing like this was expected at either of the new tracks. But it will get rectified in the next minor update that comes. Race B feels slow no doubt because of Gr. 4 but still it's amazing in it's own right that we're having a night race around Yas Marina.

I love the CGV too but Race A's not for me. I value my DR & SR.

A quick question to all:
For Race C, You're preferring the 458 or the 296?

So I did ONE (1) Race A. First chicane turned into the pingpong of doom and I got handed a DR reset for my troubles...So after being the closest I ever was to hitting A+ I am now back to low B.

sigh

Agreed, Daily A is an alt account race. Similar thing happened to me; one race and the SR went from full S to low A. I was shocked as it wasn't even that rough of a race. Leaving SR on for A was a mistake IMO.

PS - I appreciate the picture reference.

So today a few openers for Race B & C.

Race B -
  • I used the G70 for a lot of races today (set a qualy time of 2:04:999). What I love about the G70 is that despite a little stiff overall in movement, it provides perfect traction in & out of corners because of it being a 4WD.
  • The GT by Citroen is more nimble but has the tendency to get a little nervous especially in the slow & mid speed corners. Before call it a day, I used this car for qualy & was able to lower my PB to 2:04:831.
  • I like both of these cars as both of them have their own strengths & weaknesses. I was shocked to see the highest G70 in rankings was at 116th rank.
  • I think all of the players in 2:02's have gone against track limits. I chose to use the ghost of the top ranked player (Pardo). I was aghast to see at how many sections of the track he was on the outside of track limits & using the excess empty space next to the barriers for gaining speed & time. I immediately shut it off as it's against my conscience to cheat (even though as of now the game is allowing it).

Race C-
  • I found the 296 more stable on hards & softs. It's probably my preferred car for this race.
  • The 458 is also good but found it a little unstable on the hards. Due to the heavy front (despite being a MR), this car is welcoming in the turns & it is faster than the 296 which many people are choosing this.
  • Wish the Fuji race had the element of weather change even as then we could have RH, RS, I & W. Can You imagine how fun it would be when coming to strategy. The weather change (like how we had last week in Suzuka) would really make it a lottery for anyone to win the race as reading the oncoming weather correctly would reward the driver with a win.

Track limits are not set in stone, even in real life. If the game is not penalising you for using a bit of tarmac then it is perfectly permissible to use it.

A bit?????? All of the 4 wheels are on the tarmac especially at the last turn. As Tidgney said in his lap guide, many are abusing track limits. Tidgney's lap was throughout the track limits which is why I follow his ghost in qualy trials.

Check the replay of the top ranked player. Wish it was a bit which is completely fair where 3 wheels can be out with 1 wheel being inside track limits.

Track limits are not the white lines or the outside of the kerbs. It's wherever the game (or stewards in real life) let you put the car before they penalise you. Push the limits, look for every inch, that is racing.
