After many races on Thursday where I got punted off and finished dead last, I finally had a cleaner race yesterday evening.

Started P5 on the hards, and was very happy to be still in the race in lap 3, despite some push to pass moves so I lost about 3 places.

Some guy behind me was lightning quick. He bumpdrafted me on the straight so I could overtake someone easily, and he overtook us both, going 3 wide in turn 1 without any contact. I thought he was just an above average player for this lobby.

I pitted later then most, from P4 on the grid, and was happy to see I lost only 2 places while in the pitlane. From P6 I was chasing down P5 with ease, and saw that it was my lightning quick friend. Apparently he started on the softs then. Overtook him for P5 and finished on that position. Happy to finally have a race again where I didn't get punted into a spin.

Apart from taking part in Race B & C throughout the week, it's been a good week on the whole as my DR rating again went up to A from B. Race C I've been choosing either the R8 (new meta) or the GT by Citroen car as both of them are fast & stable. The GT car is very gentle on tyres, especially the RH.

Race B is also fun. G70 offers more grip & traction in turns but is a little harder to turn with due to being 100kgs more in weight than the GT by Citroen car. I've been using both of these cars depending on the mood. It's been fun driving around Abu Dhabi.

CGV I've not touched in Race A but today took part in a lobby race there where it was practice/qualy/race for 14 laps. With the right cars, CGV can be real fun too.

P.S. - For the past 2 days I was thrilled to see Calster was livestreaming his racing in Race C by choosing a different Gr. 3 car for every race. He tried F-Type, Suzuki VGT, 911 '17, Nissan GT-R etc. Loved his feedback as to which cars are worth trying or not. He's an inspiration as he's super quick despite being a controller player. Was so happy seeing his race live even if it was 4+ hours of live streaming. His feedbacks are detailed which helps a lot.

Does he stream on YouTube or Twitch?

Went back to the G70 today as my sluggish feeling with it in race B i think is being more planted 😁 had some good races today but lost my BS rating and fell to BB due to just racing, fell to BA whilst racing was still clean and fun but it takes a turn the further you fall and folk start driving more erratically and diving in and then it’s time to turn off,

Hopefully it improves next week, I almost forgot it was Sardegna A so that should be fun and maybe it’s a viper again, short shifting, or maybe another meta presents itself,

Either way, hope you all had a good week and let’s go again next week

He's on Youtube at least. His channel is Calster 25.

Also.............

Does anyone have an idea as to which specified car it would be for Race B at Sardegna Track A? I remember a few months back we had this track with Red Bull Junior X2014 Junior. It was quite a fun race that.

How many of you have not been able to do back to back Race Cs this week because the first race ended too late? Happened more often than not to me.

That was a proper good time and would LOVE to see it again. Doubt it, but would be awesome. Sardegna could be fun in the SF cars, too. Even though that's what we were just driving, I wouldn't cry about that at all. 😁

I couldn't get into Yas' and not sure what it is about the place. I was cruising around (slowly) and thought to myself "I'm just not having fun here" so went and did weekly challenges instead. Race C, well, I blacklisted Fuji long ago, lol.

Hoping the new week brings new drive to drive. I thought I read somewhere about the Nurb' being a potential layout? If so, would they run it backwards for a daily?? A couple weeks before it was announced, I was actually thinking how cool it would be to run it backwards because we never have. Then I went through the track in my head...and realized what a horrible idea it would be. Still need to try that one.

It happens to me all the time. Maybe it differs from PS variant to variant as I've got PS4 slim. So the loading times are slower. But many a times I've seen the driver who's last either purposely doesn't cross the finish line or just hovers on the track so that the rest of the users have to wait the full 90 seconds for the game to get over. Very frustrating this.

I even thought for a second if it would be Nurburgring reverse but I think that format is only available in PS5 & to DLC users strictly. I love the 24h format. 2 laps will be equivalent to 25 mins of race times in the Gr. 4 machinery.

Against my better judgement I had another go at race B on Saturday, rating fell to CB......

Thought I'd try driving round very carefully on Sunday, didn't need to worry as the racing was much cleaner, and did have some good races. Still only crept up the ratings a bit, and will be entering this week at CB.

Had about a minute to spare each time. A little bit too crowded / packed against each other. But.. better than 4 laps of Lago Maggiore and then 11 minutes of qualifying or doing nothing. That felt weird.

I started Monday at Fuji on the 296, getting to a '39.0. Then, Friday after mid week BoP, back on the 296 to see how was the lil buff. Actually the car was more tricky then before; quite snappy-bitchy. I coul go down just to a '38.7. I then jumped on the 488 and the time started to significantly improve, till I managed a solid '38.1 on Saturday (with 2-3 tenths margin of improvement). Long story short, I was losing just about 2-3 tenths from the fastest 488 of the leaderboard before the chicane. I definitely was suking a lot at sector 3 by losing 8-9 tenths just there. At least I finally learned the track "properly" for next round, but sector 3 remains a nightmare for me. Tendonitis is improving, but still there.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week.

Edit: I found a bargain on a Thrustmaster t598, so Friday will be my 1st ever drive on a DD wheel. Let's see how it goes. Bye bye G923, you served me whell within your limits. Bye bye also to the damn freaking "Jumping Jack Flash" brake pedal.

I reckon this week will be better, decent fast track which can handle 2 abreast turns, hopefully the drivers will too 😁

Will take it easy through the week to get back my S rating

Which cars?
From Reddit (I can’t check myself)

Tuning race and a Power Pack exclusive car.

The Power Pack exclusive car is so overpowered compared to the rest. So either they have not tested this one bit or they are purposefully doing this so people purchase the power pack and play it to get the car. (I'm sure I have many tin foil hats).

I've fedback this already to PD as well that it's basically bad taste at the moment.

Can you hire it or is it garage-car only?

Came here to see the comments on this as I had to do a double take when I saw the car list I went in thinking "oh I'm sure they'll let us select it". Nope.

BTW anyone with the power pack, does this car unlock automatically or do you have to do races first?

Edit: thinking more on it I can see the stang getting removed.

You have to do some races first. I made that mistake by buying it this morning just to check 😂

The AR has 800 BHP/1451kg. Rides on 17" wheels with meaty sidewalls. I'm not home at the moment, but downforce isn't as high as GT3 cars. Think I'd have memorised it's specs since I've been using that car the most since the update.

Should be interesting reading players takes on this one.

In general I don't fancy todays american cars. But this week I want to race the Gr.4 Vette, Viper & Mustang at the Ring. Any guess where to shift these things? At the end of the indicator or somewhere else? I'm really bad at this.

Seems a sneaky way to 'sell' the PP anyway, to use one of its exclusive cars as a meta in a race straightaway. Or good business, I guess...

Edit: just looked, convenient that if you reduce ECU to 70, it's exactly 560 bhp, almost dead on the requirement. One practice Q lap and I'm in the world top 50, lol! Odd because it went live 3 hrs ago, would have thought more people would've set good times by now, maybe not so many people have unlocked the car, and America is still asleep...

Might even try a race or two before they wake up...

I am going to miss last week's A. Sure it was a shrimp show at times and my alt almost got DR reset due to SR drop (and currently sitting at SR B  ) but I think by the end of the week people were getting the hang of it. I did some races on Monday and it was horrible; wet back on Saturday and it was a ton better. I didn't work on my quali time much but got it down to a 20.4 which helps. Got in a lobby with some very similarly paced drivers and there was a lot of action and clean driving to be had.

I think it's a bit funny to jump into a Daily and see a bunch of SR As and Bs, and get a little nervous of all the dirty drivers only to remember what Daily A is and know they're not dirty drivers just subjects of happenstance. Not the first time that's happened.

Race A. DR B lobbies. DLC Mustangs finishing 20 secs ahead of closest Ferraris. 4 races, 4 podiums so far, one coming back after being spun. Mustangs top 4 or 5 finishers every race.
Getting dirty cos some of the non-Mustang drivers have twigged their only chance is to crash us out on first lap.

It's been a blast with Race C. I feel FF cars will compliment this track well. Love the Audi TT Cup & Mazda3 here = strong grip from the RH tyres. Still the G70 is preferred here though & the Supra as well. My last race here was with G70. It provides neutral grip across all turns but somehow I was faster in the FF cars.

Race B is fun as well but am seeing a lot of drivers bumping into each other here I feel due to the narrow track which makes overtaking hard & tricky.

One thing is for sure - in both of these two races types, You'll need to qualify well because the tracks are narrow. If You're stuck behind cars that aren't ready to give each other respect or space, You'll lose out massively to the leaders.

P.S. - Looking forward to A+ drivers who livestream their races & also put up lap guides. I sincerely follow Tidgney, Digit Racing, SammySnake Racing & Calster 25. It will be damn interesting to see them try 24h Nurburgring in the Gr. 4 cars as almost all of these super racers dislike Gr. 4 cars. Anyway, I always look forward to their streams, suggestions & feedback.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Illusion of Choice

There’s a bit of a strange look to this week’s Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with two races featuring specific car lists, a tie-in with this weekend’s Gran Turismo World Series final with a big credit boost, a tuning event, an oval race, and one which looks shockingly pay-to-win...
