This is getting quite ridiculous. Twice in a row this morning, I change tyres for Race C due to weather forecast and TWICE, the damned tyres never changed.

What the hell is going on? This has only started this week - never had this issue before.

Are you changing just before the race starts? I've had tyre changes not work if there's only a few seconds to go.

Same thing with setting a faster qualifying lap, if there's less than 10 seconds to go then sometimes the game doesn't seem to register the improvement quickly enough.

You pressed circle instead of X.
Of course, as usual, the console records everything you see so it would be a trivial matter to capture what you think is the issue and share it in video form so that we can see it and pass advice over to help you out...

I've had that happen with the faster quali! So infuriating when you could have been pole with the new time!
Anyone tried the new Gr3 Porsche yet? Left me pS5 on rest mode so it’s all downloaded when I get back for lunch
I popped home at lunch and downloaded the update and bought the new Porsche, not going to use it this week though as I want to see if my skills actually improve at Interlagos and not just a better car equalling better time

It does sound great! And a peach to drive, just had a race at interlagos, start p2 against another Porsche, couldn’t really race him as I was too occupied with the cars behind me, right behind me 😁 managed to hold on to p2 but p1 won comfortably in the end.

I shall be hunting down a new pb in it for the rest of the week and get through those TTs

I'm losing my mind in Race C. After years of playing GTsport/GT7 I am finally legit competitive at Suzuka but man, just CANNOT catch a break. As with you, I changed tyres to wets and found myself on mediums because I changed with a few seconds left, race ruined. Why did I leave it so late? BECAUSE THE RACE BEOFRE I SWITCHED WITH MORE TIME LEFT AND THE WEATHER MAP CHANGED AT THE LAST SECOND AND I STARTED ON THE WRONG TYRE!

The map is also really tricky, very finnicky as to what is driveable with slicks and what is not. In another race I was on slicks, ran a very solid lap in the mid 1.53s on a greasy track and then by turn 1 I was unable to get on the power AT ALL, constant spinning even in 4th gear, like really? I just always seem to be on the wrong tyre, combined with the absolute worst pit entrance in the game where seemingly every damn time I try to pit someone tries to pass me ON THE INSIDE, which means I run over the line and cop an effective 6 second penalty.

Just annoyed, I have pace but always seem to get borked. Why they don't just show the current weather instead of a timelapse of the past 2 hours does my head in, dead set guessing game.

For the start of the race I just go out on the track and see if it’s raining and how much standing water there is, then change tires and then look at the weather radar

Once you're in the lobby, are you checking the rain radar in the pits before the race starts? If you can see rain then, and the intensity, you can then select the right tyres.

That's my whole point I touched on above. Yes I look at the radar but it is a time lapse, to see what it is NOW you need to wait but then you also need to change tyres 15 seconds from the end or the change doesn't work. Maddening. If you flinch too early, you cannot see if the rain is about to end and you need slicks, that happened to me on previous races, I make the change as I see rain but the last "30 minutes' of the stupid time lapse hasn't unfolded and I have inters on but it only rains for 30 seconds and it's dry. It's just dumb.

Like I said just go out on track to see what the starting conditions are, then see what everyone else is starting on. Change tires if needed and then look at the weather radar in the MFD to see how much weather there is and which way it’s coming in etc it’s the safest option imo

I think we're talking about different things - the one in your car is real time? The other clue is that your wipers are going.

Before the race, in the lobby. There's a weather icon to the left, it's meant to show you the weather but shows you what happened 2 hours ago. may have to try glen's idea and do the warm up but i get edgy I will run out of time.

That's where it starts. It's a timelapse, and it ends at "now" so you can see what the weather was (if it rained, making the track wet) and now is.

Ah yes, that map is useless!

Use the weather map in the MFD once in the pits in the lobby - if you go straight in as the room participants have loaded, you then have plenty of time to change tyres.

This one :-

Yeah I get that, but you can't wait any later than 30 minutes prior to now or you run out of time to change rubber. I'll try heading into the warm up and use the live MFD.

Brockie it is really fun in the wet, these cars have downforce so there's decent grip if on the right tyre but yeah some jeopardy which is fun.

Just go out see if the track is wet (the depth gauge in the normal hud) and if your wipers are on. That’s what I do as a minimum and select based on that, it only takes 5-6 seconds to check what is happening for the actual start.

Looks like the new 911 has "something to say" at Interlagos, by looking at the leaderbord. As you know, guys, were there any BoP changes with the update?

This, always.
Its better to jump directly to the warmup, see the actual conditions and select tyres according to what shows the radar there.
Much more safe than guessing what will happen according to wind direction and timelapse-

If you remember when that mazda3 came out it was faster than everything in the group, perhaps this is the same, I held off a Lambo today which probably I normally wouldn’t have.

Best get a time in now

Am I blind? Why can't I rent the new gr. 3 Porsche for Interlagos qualifying? It's not on the list

BOP remains the same for all groups.
On Interlagos (Mid-speed BOP) the new 911 looks pretty strong according to the values published by GT-Engine.

You have to buy it mate, I did the same thing 😁
Yes I bought it. But I don't understand why I can't rent it if I don't want to use mine. I've always done this for qualifying. The Ferrari added recently is there, but not the Porsche
