This is also my experience. Side by side I outdrag a '22 911 on the straights. The RCZ has a good top end speed - had a drag with a 911 out of turn 1, side by side until about half way down the straight, then the RCZ pulls ahead....
I also think using a car you are comfortable with is better than using the meta, at least in my (DR B) lobbies. I am not so confident to really push on the technical mountain section of Bathurst. If you are a really good driver, I know that the laptimes can be found by exiting the corners leading on to the straights perfectly. But compared to my peers I lose time on the mountain section because I am too careful. So having a really nimble car there that I dare to push a little bit helps a lot.
Why is it that an MR car feels more nimble there? Do they normally have a better weight distribution (engine planted down the middle) than FR cars or is it something else? In any case: I love the RCZ on the mountain. You need to steer clear from some of those kerbs at the rest of the track though, but I suspect some other cars also have that problem.
I clocked an 02:03:8 after a tiring day yesterday. Maybe a lower 02:03 is possible for me.
