Oh no, I don’t think I can stomach a week of Monza gr3, but let’s see.

Maybe race A is some kind peach of a race with road cars etc

Good weekend guys when you get there
The grid start with SM tyres makes me think in Radicals for that race. That would be awesome.
My guess for Monza is Gr.3 and formulas for St Croix B (please PD, give us some MP4/4 race there!)

I agree with A being a single make road car (or radical/mono/weird American custom etc)

B on balance probably but C we had GR1 there IIRC or a GR1 TT and the Veyron was the meta with the slight alt being the Hyundai/Genesis vision thing?

Edit: Chiron (same bloody thing!)

Luc is exceptionally fast and offers coaching but he’s put this free video out on braking and it’s a very very very worthwhile watch experienced or not it will help to improve or refine your braking.

The section on coasting will 🤯 few people’s mind!

Well that just helped me take 3 tenths off my time where all week I’d been creeping into by half tenths!!!!! 😁

This type of rubbish really annoys me (mild language version of true feeling)
Having a good race then get taken out by someone attempting revenge for a perceived dirty move coming down the mountain.

The guy loses control, gets a tap from behind, then tries to take him out - but misses of course. Got back to 10th then got punted again due guy making an error.

That is piss boling, I had one last week which I really got on the fence about posting.

Not going to get on the hate wagon as I know the lobbies you are in. That was utterly disgusting, at that level it’s not day dreaming it’s malicious and awful. Run some one a little wider, pressure them tight a little more similar result but fair everyone stays whole just bruised.

If it’s a consolation I think you were an innocent bystander and he missed his target by 5 car lengths.

But honestly that is not good lobby emotional regulation in a high to mid a lobby you can’t cut that any other way, but you have to really question how this ranking stuff works when stuff like that happens to you and to me, and I’ll own you don’t get that extra foot of space if you are a sweaty muppet to me but that was immature at best unhinged scarily at worst.

That's so bad, I could also swear he lost it a bit across the top so that is why he got a tap, it is close quarters in those first 2 laps, you need to be clean. I had my own adventure with an idiot last night, I made a dumb error on lap 1, dropping me to last, but recovered well and was having a pretty solid second stint and a very decent low 2.04 on lap 9 only to be faced with thtis POS (Go to last lap for the incident).

After the squeeze at T1 (you don't see it but I hugged the apex and he still gave me zero room and hit me), I suspected he would do exactly what he did at T2, I considered braking early and undercutting him, and I should have.

That’s how it is in VR, not a damn clue 🕵️‍♂️ about how far ahead or behind! 🤣🤡
I honestly didn't know this as I do not/cannot do the VR thing. As for my pit window, I just guess where halfway is in the 10 laps...

Think he lost another couple of places as he was so busy slagging the guy off in the chat, then in the post race chat, and even carried on again through the next race. I was slightly surprised however, that the game never gave me a 5 second penalty for causing a collision

For sure, he lost it and the guy behind apologised for the tap. I've done the same there myself a few times, both gaining and losing from it, but never felt the need to go for revenge.

Ah well, I think I'll just do liveries til next week's races..

I've been at Bathurst all week and TBH it has been pretty clean, you can also duck traffic by pitting a lap early or late. I've had a surprising amount of actual racing, there's a lot of different car styles in the mix and the tyre wear must be a bit different on them as I see people ebb and flow. It's also a track that, well I find anyway, I struggle to drive at 9/10th at, I will drop a full second to 1.5 seconds unless ABSOLUTELY ON IT, so folks make errors.

I’ll be honest I was surprised slightly seeing that behaviour.

Also you gained a position crashing surely that’s a pen ;)

Joking aside jostling in busy places doesn’t mean it’s ok to drive over the sand to hit someone.

I play in VR and high torque settings, that behaviour is why people get bans in other titles.

Tire wear, different lines, hard track, all of that compounds.
And then on top of that you've got different cars and their performance windows for things like accelerating, braking, etc.

EDIT

I have started a list of liveries to watch out for. Red Bull is in the top 3 with AO Racing (Rexy/Roxy/Dried Bones). The other entry in the top 3 is "any livery seen originally in F1 from 1980 through 2010" :D

If I see any of them in my lobbies and they're starting anywhere close to my start position I watch the first couple of laps specifically for that car to be a bully.

I think I’m going to spend the rest of the weekend doing the DLC races, race B this week has been sooo tough, not making any places in the race unless someone gave them to me by crashing etc,

I’m surprised I managed to stay in DR A all week but here I am, by the skin of my teeth, I think most likely due to my pre 5am lobbies which have been mixed and I could start in the top 8 with 3 A+ running away with it.

Let’s see what Monza brings, that might be a Ferrari week for me and who knows maybe race A throws something up interesting for us.

Race B is just too short....4 laps!!!! Don't understand the rationale behind it. Race C is loads of fun.

Am excited for St. Croix next week though.

I’ve always done B mate because it fits my time schedule, I actually time my lunch, 15mins to get home, 15 mins qualifying, 15 min race, 15 min to get back to work daily 😁 couldn’t do tha with C, but I don’t think more laps would help Watkins Glen this week!

Enjoy your weekend racing

I found the Viper my strongest car around Mt. Panorama for it's sheer top end speed & great handling in slow & medium speed turns of S2 & S3 especially. Sharing a vid of the great M. Hizal (Goat of Goats) where he posted a race of his recently in the Dodge Viper. It's a delight around this track's long back straight.

P.S. - This race was also livestreamed by Calster 25 who was on pole in this lap in the Nissan GT-R GT500. Both are legends for me in their own right. What a race this was.

Well this is a weird one, been chasing a 55 all week in B, my DR slowing eroding and now at the weekend, defo a DR killer.

Thought I’d jump into the alt account which is low BS, that’s was more fun, started P2 took P1 on the first lap and he stayed within 5 tenths all race until a pen last lap.

Thought I’d throw a lap in prior to the race, just to be somewhere, literally 2min 40 and I hit a 55.867!!!! Fuming, managed to get my normal account to a 56.1 but how does tha happen, albeit at 0 BB so that’s gaining me some, strange one, alt account is LJB

If You want a good chuckle, check this hilarious post by Sammy Snake. It's not the whole race but best bits. The icing on the top is the last 30 seconds or so. Damn hilarious.....

Honestly wish they'd ban people's accounts for this dumbass switching regions stupidity.

They region lock the game for a reason, to limit massive amounts of latency being introduced into the game, creating an unfair environment.

These clown YouTubers love switching regions & not giving a **** what it does to local players experience.

PD have banned people before for cheating in time trials, or using exploits in tournaments, why are they not banning mult-account region switchers, especially when they are dumb enough to show themselves on YouTube doing it.

Half of them do it in the tournaments as well, which is explicitly forbidden in the terms of said tournaments, yet theres no report option for it because the only thing you can report are "means words"

He's also not being patient enough. If you're A+ in a C room you need to expect that the C drivers are using all their mental capacity just navigating the cutting, it is an extremely difficult corner that eats time if you mess it up. He sorta kinda sorta had his nose in a gap but just barely, twice, and there was contact because the C driver drifted wide (very common at the Cutting) and then tried to find his line only to find a Viper front lip in the way. At A+ you need to be expecting this, tuck in behind, stay tight and wait for the C drivers to run very wide or just blast past on the two big straights given the grunt the Dodge has and the A+ skill set still allowing for fast exits..

It’s just seal clubbing, for no other purpose than content.

It’s not showing restraint or maximising exits or how braking matters in how you do it.

I run different region accounts only EMEA and US and the latency isn’t even perceptible 99% of the time but locally and the US it’s the people using 4g to race that’s the problem.

Now think about this for a second, they have artificially moved the progression ground for that lobby when they are passing through and farming content. That’s not the spirit of racing or the reasons classifications exist.

By all means create accounts but mo e through and be respectful and cognizant.

When I made my accounts I just qualified to the front and progressed as quickly as possible with no drama or content, just crack on.

People do people though so 🤷‍♂️

Latency is definitely perceptible, not to mention that fool is on Asia servers so there's no way others around him weren't experiencing issues.

Even from EU to US you can see it, & it's worsened in the close racing exchanges where incidents that could've been avoidable, just aren't due to Desync & increased latency.

It's never going to change unless PD start banning these people for doing it, or people stop watching their garbage content.

Community pressure on these people is more effective than things like an IP lock imo

I think the seal clubbing should be treated like Buschwhacking in NASCAR. In the 2000s almost all of the top drivers ran some races in the secondary Busch series and occasionally Truck series. Though drivers such as Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch would be competing in all races in both series. Most fans were fine with top drivers doing a few races per year in lower divisions but it was almost universally hated when drivers ran all the races.
NASCAR eventually made rules where any drivers competing full time in the main series could only run a few races per year in the lower series. Most fans were okay with this and nowadays sometimes the lower series even have more competitive races than the top series.
So I think for GT7 that only the account per console with the most DR should be allowed to earn points in the championship events and other accounts can only run races at all if it is the same region as the main account . For daily races all accounts can run any races that don't have DR changes because it allows for fun challenges and teaching moments (I have hundreds of races of experience showing that) but for any other races can only run a quarter of what the main account does and to race in a different region requires having a consistent low Ping (I don't know exactly what would be realistic).
Although I might be a bit biased having hundreds of videos racing in lower rated lobbies to me that is fine as long as you try to race clean, don't lag very much, don't do it as the main purpose, and especially don't race for championship points .
