Not really when the standard 3-car updates usually add a healthy mix of cars.
That's just not true though - right?

I went through the gtplanet news articles and if I'm not mistaken there was an almost 2 year period without any racing car.
From update 1.20 (August 2022) to update 1.49 (July 2024)

So sorry if this particular update isn't for you, but racing fans had to sit through a pretty long drought before getting more of the content they wanted.

EDIT: Turns out I missed a few. My point is more that race cars were a small minority of the additions during that period. Most updates were dominated by road cars, classics, SUVs, kei trucks, etc. So I don't think it's accurate to say the standard 3-car updates usually contained a healthy mix for everyone. There were long stretches where race-car fans got very little compared with road-car fans.

Super Update. Really a nice surprise that i waited to have before Lemans for some years but didn't come. Now it's here, Thanks! i really hope that they fix the Amuse S2000 GT1 physics
Oh what’s wrong with the Amuse physics? I didn’t notice anything wrong a few months ago.

Not that there have been many but you've missed a ton of racing cars in that gap. You've got the Mazda3, the TS020, both rally cars, the AMG GT3 '20, the '00 JGTC NSX, the '18 GTR GT3, the Genesis Gr.1, and probably a couple of others I can't think of.

I'm fine with the cars but the rest of the update is quite uninspired. The events are Gr.1 Proto events where the hypercars are inherently outclasssed & they've done nothing to address the fact that they're also outclassed in Gr.1 BoP - it just falls a bit flat.
Think the biggest miss is the lack of Sophy implementation for the hypercars. Regular AI just can't handle multiclass at all, which is half of the reason I'd want to use these.

Ah damn. I didn't count VGTs and Rally Cars, but yeah. I missed a few.

Really? On PS5 it's 1.604 GB for me
Same, but I have almost 8GB on PS4 (not quite seemingly the entire game as with the other chap though).

Edit: Even after cancelling, deleting, and restarting it.

So how much for the cars are thye 3 mill each? The Pug Porka and BMW should be cheaper as they are not Lemans winners!!!
It seems at least with this update that PD have broken that trend by slapping all of them with a 3 Million Credit Price tag.

How long is the le Mans event?
It is disappointingly short.

3 million is way too much for any actually useable race car in the game. It just limits the playerbase of the whole class. Should be 1-1.5M. I guess PD tries to sell microtransactions still in 2026 after a decade of failing in it miserably. Or they should atleast sell these in bundles - few euros for "Gr1 Hypercar pack" would be fine, but 30€ per car in in-game credits is insanity.

Edit. Ok you get ALMOST two cars with 30€ 5Mcr. Bundle, but still - its nuts.I guess they only aim the microtransactions to whales.

yeah2 it's just some cars and that's it, right? But the cars are highly wished and they are the modern race cars we always want. Also it comes just before Le Mans 24 hours IRL. What else do you want?
I dont want them, but i was not refering to the cars it was about the update in general, i am not complaining i think that pd still provides free updates you have to consider a plus

But its just not enough in my opinion cars dont add that much in my opinion specially not at this point, i have not played gt7 in 2 months because i am pretty bored of it. For me i would much rather see new gt title right now.

I understand a lot of people will be happy with those cars but they do absolutly nothing for me.

But i have other games to play and are not really forced go play gt7, fh6 is quite enjoyable sometimes just needs a new experince, and i think i already have experinced what gt7 has to offer with 2000 hours

PD is very much not trying to sell microtransactions, as it doesn't get the money from them. Also it's been constantly making the microtransactions absolutely pointless with new ways to make money across the game's life.

If you'd completed only the Weekly Challenges and Time Trials set since the cars were revealed on May 23rd you'd have 13.4m additional credits (without considering the prizes for the 15 Weekly Challenges races which would add up to ~750k). The update is 12.4m. There's also a new Circuit Experience today worth 2.6m for hitting all-golds, so that'd see you well clear.

I routinely take menu screenshots for events, and rarely do anything over a week except the Weekly Challenges - though I also do the Power Pack (because gaming journalist) Challenges, which effectively doubles the earnings (as the bonuses are from the same prize pool: 100k for one, 200k for two, and 500k/6*/6*Car for three). I don't even do the TTs, and there's been six in that period.

No microtransations, barely any racing - just WC, PPC, and redeeming tickets from Daily Workout and WC/PPC rewards.

Not this again.

First Impressions and things I found:

  • You can change the Safety car's lights to blue, inside the livery editor. So yes, you can make a police car;
  • The BMW has a bug, where if an AI (or player too, probably) drives it and you get close to it, the sound of the BMW's V8 drowns out every other sound. Even with the "Rival Cars Engine Noise" setting down, it's really annoying :lol:;
  • The two LMH have the hybrid whine the Hypercars have IRL (the Ferrari is particularly nice). It's not perfect, but it's great that it's there;
  • The 4 Hypercars have your in game traction control and brake balance values represented on the wheel. There are also lights that work when the ABS activates, or when the traction control activates;
  • The new Michelin tire stickers the Porsche, BMW, and Peugeot have change depending on the current tire. For example, it has a yellow part if the tire is a slick (Soft, Medium or Hard), but that changes to blue for Intermediate or Wet tires;
  • The Peugeot doesn't have the option for Wingless (understandable), and the BMW doesn't have the option for the new smaller grill (understandable as well, that's from this year).

Overall quite nice update, even if I much prefer road cars. As long as these new Hypercars are balanced between each other, couldn't care less if they are "outclassed" within Gr.1. Just make events where the only Gr.1 cars available are the Hypercars and boom, problem solved :)

Only a single entry yes.

BMW M Hybrid V8 - BMW M Team WRT No.15
Porsche 963 - PPM No.6
Ferrari 499P - Ferrari AF Corse No.51
Peugeot 9X8 - Peugeot TotalEnergies No.93
This is another bugbear of mine, that so many racecars just have a single livery to pick from. It just breaks my immersion to see 2 or 3 of the same default skin when I'm doing a WTC or group-specific race in single player.
