So I bought all the new cool Hypercars, each one is very cool on La Sarthe (Lemans) I personally favour the BMW and managed a qucikish time as the start of the TT releasing this morning. Now I believe my time is bronzey as the bar gets higher and higher with alien drivers!!

I have plenty of room to improve. Now we ned more daily races to get these cars accustomed to GT7 racers. They are all awesome and I need to tune later my safety car to make it a beast police car, woop woop!

I'm sure the new cars are brilliant, but the races they are included in are simply not fit for purpose...

Sticking them in 950pp Group 1 events is a silly idea. They've proven to us they can limit events to things like Group C (in the Power Pack) so why not to the same here. If you're allowed to run whatever you want, so long as 950pp or lower, that's what I'm going to do.

Even if you said, okay Group 1 events are for Group 1 cars only, that'd be something

It's like they are trying to throw away every chance to goodwill with bone-headed decisions...

EDIT: Turns out I missed a few. My point is more that race cars were a small minority of the additions during that period. Most updates were dominated by road cars, classics, SUVs, kei trucks, etc. So I don't think it's accurate to say the standard 3-car updates usually contained a healthy mix for everyone. There were long stretches where race-car fans got very little compared with road-car fans.
Except a pretty healthy chunk of those road cars can be converted into race cars anyway.

From my memory out of those updates that didn't contain out-of-the-box race cars, the Sierra, Giulia Sprint, R32 Nismo, 190E, 2018 Vantage, C5 Corvette, R34 Z-Tune, 1991 RX-7 and 964 Turbo all have parts to convert them into one or more of their racing variants. Unfortunately this also requires creativity which the average Sport-mode-only player lacks entirely.

Raced all five Hypercars. One lap of Le Mans, 12 HYP/8 GT3, in PSVR2. They’re all great.

Excellent visibility out of all cars. 963 and M V8 feel the most airy and bright. GR010 is like being in a cave. The 9X8 head protectors protrude a bit more and the mirrors seem smaller than the other cars. Nothing to complain about though.

963, GR and 9X8 are quiet. 499P sounds like a PS4 gen 1 about to take off for the pearly gates. It’s nearly like the whine in your car radio back in the day. M V8(are they sure about that?) is buzzy.

Will need the HUD to monitor fuel.

All cars are stable. The 9X8 and M V8 felt the most twitchy at the start. 9X8 has the quietest and most pleasant downshifts. I use controller, but felt like riding on a pillow compared to all the haptic jolts from the other cars.

I love them. Pretty much PSVR2 is the best way to get the most out of the experience in these cars. I can understand people not wanting to get it, but it really does make a difference in the experience across the whole game.

Anyway, I’d love to see more Hypercars in GT7. Just add a Honda Accord Type R and Nissan Primera in the same updates. ;)

Please explain to me how they could have added said Cadillac without having scanned it and without the brand currently being in the game.
They have had to scan the other cars and I would have thought Cadillac would want their car in the game and others from the brand and yes this will take more time, Genesis are a brand in the game but there isn't the Genesis GMR-001, would you rather have had the Genesis GMR-001 than the Porsche 911 Turbo S Safety Car which we already have the normal version of?

This is the same as the new GR3 cars that were added the Ferrari and Porsche I am sure the others want their cars in as well.
How about focusing on what we have instead of what we don't? I'm not sure why you'd complain because getting 4 hypercars in an update is a substantial boost to the car list.
Whoa! I am not complaining, I just would rather that the time spent and resources spent on the Porsche 911 Turbo S Safety Car (which we already have the normal version of) could have been spent on something else, the Genesis GMR-001 for example, this is all I am saying, how many times will you use the Turbo S Safety Car compared to how much time you would use the Genesis GMR-001, Cadillac V-Series.R, Alpine A424 or Toyota TR010 Hybrid, or maybe for GR3 to go with the new Ferrari and Porsche the BMW M4 GT3 Evo or Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

All new cars are welcome in the game.

AFAIK, the 963 and M Hybrid V8 are the first cars in the game that have their IMSA leader light panels available.

Although, as can be seen with the 963 above and the 499P below, the default liveries don't adapt to which leader light system is chosen, which looks amusing but is also uncharacteristically PD when it comes to their attention to detail.

Unfortunately, unlike the recent GT3 cars, the Evo package for the M Hybrid V8 isn't an optional aero part. The front/rear parts are the different aero configs between IMSA and WEC.

All the cars come with custom parts! I love that we will be able to make perfect imsa replicas on both porsche and bmwView attachment 1543645

If you add the digital number/position part to the side, do they actually do anything? Like on the Ford GT 18 GT3 car they don't. Just stays off no matter what... really kills the vibe of having it.

I do know the red dots will show position, P1-P3 but asking about the digital number boards.

And for the livery makers, the 1st pic of the car is the "Body" coverage area, while tne 2nd pic of the car is the "Other" coverage area.

The Ferrari is different though. I guess Ferrari, and their "particular" way of licensing and everything, has made it so that the 1st pic is "Body," the 2nd pic is "Body 2," and the last is "Other."

Nope they stay off, but I love that we actually have them

It maybe high price for newer users. But those who play from day one? I have all the cars and 98 mln credits without grinding.
This!

Am I missing something with the new cars? I find them extremely slow! With the new Le Mans race, if I use my Sauber Mercedes C9
I usually can gain two minutes by the end of the race. over second place, If I use any of the new cars I can only hope for second!
Also is there a button to engage the batterie???? Seems no use to me!? is there a button to engage it like a boost button?

Hypercars are slower than previous LMP entries. It's why their inclusion in these events and quite frankly in Gr.1 makes no sense. They needed splitting off.
They're not viable unless you stick a massive turbo in them - but then it's just a different car and you can't even do that online anyway.

The battery in Hypercars also doesn't work like that, it's basically a regulating system that balances power between the electrical and ICE engines. As one goes up in usage, the other goes down - there's no deploying to go faster.

OK, Thanks! The Batterie is always full in the race, so I thought maybe you needed to engage it somehow..... Oh well back too Group C racing. more fun nicer cars!

I suspect what you're missing is that... they are. The entire hypercar class was designed around a Le Mans race lap time of around 3:30. They've managed 3:23.9, 3:24.4, 3:22.9, 3:24.6, and 3:23.1 for Hyperpole qualifying in the five years they've raced (not including this year, as Hyperpole hasn't happened yet).

That's at best 7.5s slower than the final year of LMP1-H.

They're better over the long run (as cost reduction is a big goal with Hypercars, hence 20+ grids now), but the Hypercar race record is 387 laps and they've only gone over 380 twice. LMP1-H did that routinely, with the record being Porsche's 395 - just behind Audi's LMP1 and absolute record of 397 in 2010.

Also is there a button to engage the batterie???? Seems no use to me!? is there a button to engage it like a boost button?
The battery is deployed automatically, filling in for the combustion engine, with the combined system output never exceeding 671hp (depending on BOP, up to 698hp).

Not sure we can compare race distance covered between LMP1 and Hypercars given how safety car periods (and car reordering) are handled now, which are wayyyy longer than before.

You can't directly compare race distance of any two Le Mans events because they're mental. Audi's 397-lap record was about as ideal and clockwork as it gets (and they weren't even in the lead at two-thirds distance).

But it does show the Hypercars favourably, in part for the reasons you said. They're able to cover roughly the same number of laps in 24hr as the cars that are (much) faster over a single lap because of the efficiency gains mandated by the regulations - which was the point of mentioning it.

Just as a quick test, I have done a lap or two of La Sarthe in each this morning. Stock settings, all of them just creep over 200mph - downforce at 780 front and 920 rear for each car, very first impressions as below -
Ferrari 499P - had to change the diffs, braking into Indianapolis almost impossible. Otherwise, nice to drive and great noise. It feels the fastest.
Peugeot 9X8 - stock, nice to drive straight off
BMW M Hybrid - great on the brakes
Porsche 963 - ooh, feels fast but it's not so easy to drive! The lap time shown was my first attempt and is about a second off where it should be. I had several more attempts, but high speed stability is an issue. For me, the car needs suspension, diff and downforce changes for an easier drive.
Here are the times, not trying to (and couldn't!) break any records, but all cars were driven at the same pace.
NB - we are getting slower racing cars as time goes by!

Enjoy!

You'll have to make custom races. Jump into the custom race thread. It's unfortunate that PD doesn't properly use the tools at their disposal, but at least there's a backup.

Really fun cars to drive, with the Porsche being my favorite so far after a few test laps around Le Mans.
I was really hoping that we would get an 1 hour "24H Le Mans" Gr. 1 race with the update, like the 1 hour "24H Spa" Gr3. race, especially since the added event is the only one where they will be available for the AI to use (even if it's just each car once, could've made it at least twice for each car). Wish they'd change that and make new cars be available for the AI in all races, but I guess that is too much effort (I honestly have no idea how much time/effort it takes to make new cars available for the AI to use in old races, so no idea if PD is just lazy, or if it's honestly too much work for a free update).

I love the overall theme of this update and would love to see this done with other car classes in future updates.:)

Racing in the Power Pack, this wasn't a accident by PD to have the car settings disabled, having about a hour to practice and no way to adjust your car settings was another one of those illogical things, somebody had to code the disable car settings on purpose, glad there now fixing this in the update.
