Whew. Gave the L750R some more time tonight and figured out what it liked and dropped down into the high 1:31's...and then this last lap, ended up with one hell of a bus stop and a got a 1:31.626. My theoretical was only a .5xx, so I think I'm all good here with this one, whoop!

I had to go again after those aliens kicked me out of gold.

First i tried the Peugeot that's dominating the leaderboard, but decided i didn't like it - too understeery and what where they thinking as they designed the shift indicator? It's amlost invisible in VR.

So back to the 919:

I don't think i can go much faster. The car probably could, but i'm just rubbish on that track.

Your choice of car makes me smile... 😅 Well done!!!

Managed to get a 2:04.1xx in the Lexus, in the range I normally operate (+2,25%-2,75%)
There is some more time to be found and I can get into the 2:03.8xx... If I find some more time to play 🤣

First stint at Daytona I used the apparent meta, the 750LR. Don't like the car, but got into gold with a 1:32.8xx
Should be safe and not sure I'll spend more time on this one...

Sorry, but what do you mean?
I mean that between the high wheel arches and everything that is obstructing the windshield, I find this car difficult to drive in VR

(and I won't talk about default head position in VR that varies from car to car and that you need to compensate for before being in VR in the car)

Yes, the wheel arches block the view, but i've driven that thing so much that i've gotten used to it.
It is simply my Gr. 1 'go to car'.
My 'strategy' is not to drive every car or everytime a different one, but to use my favorite cars whenever possible.

But if you know how to reset the head position, then all mentioned above doesn't become a problem. All you gotta do is look down to your legs or torso and reset the headset. This adjusts the seat height too. The Peugeot in VR is great, I didn't see any obstruction in the windshield.

To find the perfect spot, look to your knees or belly. This varies in all cars, so you have to find what feels best for you.

Thanks I know that, but each time you change car, you need to find the appropriate amount of head position you need to shift to end up in a good spot once in VR. If only it was constant, but not even close.

I don't find it to bee that bad.. for most cars the default position works well for me. For some cars I just look down and reset it, and that's it.

I need to change for most cars, and in some extreme cases I have the nose in the center of the steering wheel. Resetting is annoying, worse if you are racing online, no time to reset it if you forgot to move your head down before being in VR (and don't forget to do it each time you pit...)

One of my best laps ever, the feeling with this combination was great 👌🏻 i've lost something on the last corner but i absolutely nailed the second sector
@Gomario JSP nice one mate, i'm right behind you on the leaderboard that was insanely close 😁

Nice lap Chief!, indeed a very pleasant combo, and to close for comfort! 😂🙏
Nice result mate, fast as always!

Was struggling to break into the 2:01s, but finally got there right at the end of the session.

There's another 2 tenths in the lap though as I completely shanked "The Boot" section. Specifically the Chute and Toe corners were abysmal in exit speed so that really cost me.

Not sure I'll have time for another session tonight, but the urge is high considering an improvement of 2 tenths could put me into the top 30, extremely close to my highest ranking.

Thank you @Ed_Night for the ghost! Incredible lap sir!

No replay this time. PS4 got stuck in an infinite loading screen trying to process the screen recording and I was too tired to wait for it to record the lap again.

oh oh, @Ed_Night ain't gonna be happy...nor will a whole bunch of people who were within a tenth or so of the gold cut-off line at The Glen.
I knew i left 0,2s on track with my lap, so i didn't expect to win with this time.
Would have been an "easy" snipe for Shooter. 😅
Now it's already done by Calster, awesome lap. 👍
One more chance today, but every single corner has to fit 100% to get below 2:01 which is not very realistic for my skills.

I hope to stay in top 3, for my 2nd GT7 Podium. These chances are rare, because of the high quality of the top drivers out there. 💪

Come on Ed, you are German, you got this, go get it :)
Nevertheless...i watched your lap and it was not to shaaabbyy at all! :)
I theory i have some time on the table but haven't touched it i a few days and there is no way i'm finding that window of oppertunity again in one last morning session..

I'll prob. end up 29 for the 4th time? ( 29 is fastest ever on the board ):lol: that number is jinxed for me

If i take sector 1 and 4 of my .118 lap and sector 2 and 3 of my .136 lap i would get a 2:00.932. My personal best S1 of .315 would give me another 0,017s.
So i have 0,036s i could waste through the lap... should be no problem. 😌😂😂

The lap I managed a couple days ago in the Daytona TT was a full quarter of a second faster than my fastest optimal had been to that point. It was a total unicorn! lol...magic can happen man don't give up hope!

"Scorpio" ....The snipe has been done @Ed_Night 🙈😂

2:00.8xx boggles my mind. I had checked earlier this morning and noted that L-Shooter set the WR time with a .9xx but hid the replay...for my own understanding and education, I'm curious where he's finding that extra tenth! Is the current .834 replay available?

I pushed hard when Calster got back in the lead and following his ghost, I actually found a tenth of a second plus change. Quite proud of this time and felt like I utilized oversteer near the limit coming out of many of the corners, car felt lively, had a decent sector 2 and managed to not stuff it up in the final sector. Good for 37th at the time, and 39th now that Mr. Shooter has appeared :) I'll keep pushing until the end of this TT, don't want to leave anything on the table.

It's possible to gain half a tenth on Calster in sector 1 and on my current record i made up half a tenth on him from S2 split to the finish line.
So thats probably where Shooter found that 0,1s.
