After great hunt and various WR leaders, I finally got gold!

Direct capture - you can see from right side my previous best time, that was frustrating 3.03%.
But then I drove this lap:

Bit harder to go to the extreme lengths due to the car so I think less annoying, they definitely still exist though. Also nice it's just invalid and not a massive "SLOW DOWN" haha
That should help, and I don't see any silly ones that invalidate your next lap for seemingly no reason. That last one makes sense that it would - as would slamming into that wall, which I fully expect to do multiple times via a wrong bounce - but nothing several turns before hand that have the same effect, thankfully.

I'm thinking CSA on strong will be a must for this one, but it should be enjoyable enough...probably.

If I would own this AMG I would go broke on tires within a month 😂..... 1th...yeeet...2nd..yeeet....3...yeeet.....4 gear...yeeeet 😂😂

Very difficult on the crappy remote connection to place it for the last chicane, don't know what it is, but it's definitely not getting me steady frames and quality dropped massively on the remote....

But hilarious to yeet it around I must say, but T8 and T9 are still one big mistery to me.

I think this track will grow on me during this week,

Wel...into the 43's , descent start 😁

I'm very sorry for my third post today on this thread, I don't usually do it like this, but then again, I don't usually have three sessions in one day

This one was it, one of my best laps so far in the game, maybe I lost some small amount of time in the last chicane, but still it left a permanent brown stain on my underpants. I didn't really think this lap was possible, I was hoping for a 43.2, having already unexpectedly achieved 43.3 today, but hey, I'll take it :D

Finishing up my first session today with a 1:43.135 and another top 10 position like last time! Good but difficult combo, I'm not as much of a fan of this track compared to Yas Marina but still enjoyed it! There's definitely some time save at the two chicanes as I feel I lose too much time there and sometimes on the hairpin as well so best possible time I think could be doable is a very low 43.0 or at best a 42.9, I may do another session for this.

@Vule Also flying lap mate! Incredible time!

Hmm, this might be another mismatch between car and circuit...but at least there isn't a walled-in chicane. Took me a good number of restarts to even figure out the track limits at the last chicane right before the start/finish straight.

1:45.130 for this first session out there, but I know I've got a lot more time in there.

Believe it or not, but this time trial is the first time I’ve actually been on the CGV track. All I can say is that the Canadians aren’t so nice after all. This track won’t be on my Christmas card list next year. I might give it a lump of Coal instead. 🤨

I’m very much a visual person and with a lot of this track blind in the tunnels of the barriers it really throws me off. It took me a little over an hour until I managed to get what I think is a reasonable time. I won’t say I hate the track, because it does provide a bit of a challenge and learning experience, but I’m not going to be racing towards it anytime soon as I find the overall flow somewhat awkward.

TCS 1 and CSA strong was my best combo of assists.

Holy **** that is fast! 😱😱

I am still at Daytona until the race and yesterday I gave up with my Alpine. I improved from bronze to silver but nothing significant. I found the bloody Genesis (I never liked the band...) in my garage and went for it. Did nothing different and got into gold! Now I want a sub-33 lap time and everyone who goes without Genesis and Peugeot gets my deepest respect (like @911RSR and @ikon_313 for example)! Kudos to you!!!

Same here. First laps last night - haven't yet done the circuit experience. That first righthander (corner 2?) and the really sharp left-right chicane in S2 are realistic candidates to replace Barcelona's and Nurburgring's chicanes as the corners I hate most in the game.

Great car though.

The other day I said, ‘2026 is off to a good start...’
I should have kept my mouth shut...😂😂

Every time I watched the Canadian Grand Prix, I regretted not having this circuit on GTurismo...
Well, not anymore... In fact, it's a series of chicanes...

There's the hairpin after the start, a right-left chicane, then another, then another, a hairpin, the straight, a chicane and that's it... open chicanes, yes, but...

I'm barely in silver and I'm having a hard time stopping this German tank... I brake either too early or too late.

I'm going to push a little harder to secure the silver medal, but that's it...

See you next Thursday...

As a Canadian, I can't say I'm overly proud of CGV. Frankly, the track kinda stinks lol. I'm solidly in silver for now.
I realy REALY hate the last chicane, ....what is it with every track designer... they all implement chicanes and it just ruines beautiful laps over and over again!
And why such a narrow one with those annoying sausages, wider flatter curbs would make it somuch better there!

I have a lot of personal problem points here ..

Brakepoint for T3.... it's somewhere in between signs so consitstency is very difficult.
T4 exit is a wall scraping lotery
T5-6-7 flows very good imo.

T8 - 9 it feels sooo weird and i can't seem to find the right spot to get on throttle, but it's very important due to the straight after that.

But a good way to learn it proper, still not a fan of the track tbh, but time will tell!, i hate the chicane, that i do know

New day, I see Japanese guy lowered much, though I stayed in gold with small lead.

So sit again into AMG and boom, new PB!

Pulled 0.220s and now my gold is much safer.
But who knows what will aliens do...

The button "I have problems with the track" in Multiplayer chat has been made for CGV... 😅

There's a comment on Tidge's guide calling the C63 an overpowered bar of soap, which sounds about right. After years of GT Sport and 7 I still have no idea how the aliens brake where they do on the replays. The hairpin just feels like a lottery to me.
