I felt motivated after watching the 24h this weekend 😎

Hi,

I have just one more day to achieve my goal. There has been steady progress this week at Daytona. It has taught me a great deal too.

I have turned off all aids except ABS which is now set to weak.

There is no paint left on either 'wing' mirror. The end plates on the rear wing are gone. Front splitter is shredded and I think all the rose joints in the suspension are now scrap! I can tell you I have had sooooo much fun here though! Bring on the final day. 😁

Very best regards to all here.

Ian.

A/ this seems to me an excellent balance ! 👍

B/ Perfectly agree, whatever our level, one can always find some pilots that can serve as a target 😈

C/ I believe that we can all forget the hope of winning a spot due to your early retirement 😂

PS : I have the impression that Generation X is well represented here... at the same time, logical, the forums are a bit old school.

You see what i have to put up with every time? ....
I'm placed in the top 30 of the world....... and yet i got Cromefied
and it's happening in every freaking timetrial :lol:

Crazy fast germans.....

@crome well done buddy!

Did you benefit from slipstreaming the AI, by any chance?
No, it was a pretty lonely race for me. That's why i could concentrate on fast lap times.

Am i right that the TT BoP includes a full tank of fuel?
That would be the only possible reason i can see.

Or wind... If you have a tailwind of let's say 4-6m/s on the straight you'll gain great time compared to the TT where the wind is always 0,0m/s ?

🤣 Thanks mate, appreciate it. But let's stick to the truth here: it is definitely NOT happening in every time trial. It is still a rare occasion that I manage to sneak past you, and I have to celebrate every one of these occasions because one day in the not too distant future you'll trade in the Nokia Laptop for a proper wheel and will leave us all in the dust 🤣

For this one though I have to say that even though I am now on track for perhaps my best position to date, there's still time on the table. The S2 split of 1:02.650 was actually one of the weaker ones of the session, it was only the 40.733 S3 that saved the day (might share the lap later). If I can pull off one of these after a fast setup, even a high 1:43.1 is possible ...

I know and I sympathize. It’s even worse for VR players 😂
The Germans dominate the top of the ranking

Fun fact: 5 of the 6 Germans in that screenshot are actually part of a time trial league that I recently joined, which also partly explains why I have kind of over-performed in the last few events. They have a promotion / relegation system that "forces" me to engage with events beyond what I would usually do, and there are some incredibly talented and ambitious people in there ...

So in other words.... that's an "Internal abduction"
Give them my regards up there buddy

Looks like I won't get gold at Daytona, did not launch GT since last thursday, DIY rig is disassembled for final touches, some epoxy, sanding, varnishing, hoping it to be ready tomorrow but not sure, depends on how many varnish layers I'll apply.

And I don't want to play on controller anymore so I'll settle for 1M Cr.

Can't wait to try the Merc at CGV but I guess I will hate it 😅

Since you're sacrificing one gold, put on as many layers as you can so you can shave off couple more tenths. With those finishing touches you must gold each TT in the future :D
Maybe I should let it raw then, for weight saving 😅 and to be obliged to get Gold for all future TTs!
Nah, it's great! Don't listen to the haters ;)
I don't, but I know which kind of cars I struggle with and it feels like this one can be on the list. I am a bit hopeful still because I read here and there that it likes to slide in a controllable manner, maybe not fast, but fun for me, it could be its saving grace.

In my entirely fictional capacity as entirely unofficial statistician I put the odds of it being sans chicane at 0.1%.
I agree with this assessment.

Though IIRC, the Porsche 962 one last year did not have the chicane, I don't think?

I'm kind of dissapointed it's not on the Ring!
Monza great track but seems not the best track for testing the hyper mobile Phone.....or....it's less agile than they claim? 🤣🤣.....I feel an understeery heavy thing is comming 🤣

I am curious though!

I somehow managed to go below 31 but this was utter pain! The bus stop was near impossible and when I did make it through it was always too slow. Perhaps you wheel folks had it easier there? Oh well, .182 at the split before bus stop with a decent passage is good enough, we’ll take that.
