First time ever playing on this track. Last night I couldn't get lower than 44.400, despite having spent a good few hours on it..

Had a quick session this afternoon and managed to achieve this 👀

This car is teaching me to be patient and have a better throttle control.. but not sure if I love this combo. Will push a bit more and see what happens.

Session 2 at CGV in and down ~3/4 of a second to a 1:44.435 with very real possibility to get down into the 1:43s if the car behaves.

That hairpin before the final straight murders my wrist though with trying to absolutely crank the wheel (assuming the car even stops where it should) and upshift.

Got my hands full with these 2 TTs. I'm generally slower in faster cars and have never driven CGV in any game. First need to consolidate my borderline Gold at Daytona then move to the AMG/CGV.

Starting to wish I'd joined a Forum for GT7 with 'normal' players (for my egos sake!) instead of you bunch of crazy fast lunatics!! :D

Morning folks

First proper session in the C63 AMG.
You need atleast a proper tv session to yell if you like it or not.... so here it comes....
Tbh... I indeed dislike the track, it just doesn't work and doesn't have one corner that feels smooth and no corner that feels epic if you nail it, throw in the hideous sausage chicane in the end and you have a very akward track

That said, I did try my best ofcourse cause what a car this is, I want one 🤣.... very bad plan but what a yeeet machine this is! 🤣

Into a .5xx with a 1:43.562
Hope this sticks for another top 100 😁
And @Vule ....untouchable buddy, what a lap you threw in!

And as I knew since the Zonda CoD mirror Scraping shenanigans.....we can conform again....

1000045303.webp

Mirrors are save to scrape 🤣

No idea how this didn't invalidate but I'll take it 🤣

Have a good weekend all and happy lapping

Thank you again my friend  Come on, you can shave 2 more tenths for sure, you lost that much just at the hairpin before the long straight, and you had a very narrow entrance in the "chicane" leading to the hairpin, you can definitely improve to at least 43.3 :)

No idea how this didn't invalidate but I'll take it 🤣
I believe the WR guy actually hit the wall a bit exiting the last chicane, and still didn't invalidate somehow :D

It's indeed a strange one, like you said, awkward track, at the same time it's very much stop and go but also it's not, it has some flow but the curbs and walls ruin that small amount of fun you could maybe have here.

True! 😁🤣 I lost a good amount of time there indeed , I brake at the same time for the hairpin every time ( I think I do ) but sometimes I need to go to 1st for the hairpin and sometimes in 2nd..... this time I did 2nd but should have been a rotate in 1st gear 🤣 cause it clearly didnt rotate in 2nd 🤣

And indeed a bad exit to the straight leading to the hairpin, there was way to much track un-used, such a difficult corner with the oversteer!, but in theorie I could shave off some indeed, we will see! 😁

So....with an update next week, with probably the Xiaomi in it......and its been a few trials back that we were blasting through the German eifel....The Xiaomi sign is already on track (bridge before foxhole) and this car had set a fairly descent laptime at the Ring...... ? 🤣🤣......

Or am I p*ssing people of now? 🤣🤣

Whaaaaat?!!! Despite PD ramming it down our throats the last few weeks in every scenario possible (admittedly if you only do TT then fair enough!)

@Gomario JSP RE: Xiaomi Nurburgring - i am willing to bet my house* that this will be the exact TT we get next week! I'm going to add bubble wrap to my TV in preparation for the controller being thrown at it

*figuratively speaking. Not literally

Hi,

Daytona has always been good to me in GT7. This TT is no exception...

The most annoying part of this is 'stringing' a perfect lap together - As it is for all of us I guess! 😬

My optimals are in the 1:31:1xx's now. I have 4 days to find a way to make it work. Yikes!

I still think that there may be a 'bug' with the hybrid section though. Every now and then after a red lap, I can finish the next lap with some charge still in the battery (L750R Hybrid)???

Happy lapping folks!

Best regards to all here..

Ian.

Hey everyone - I must say, it feels like the folks at PD are feeling particularly and enthusiastically vindictive these days... is it more, or are the challenges, well, a lot more challenging these days?! Lexus was a tricky little monkey to manage the weight transfer and power oversteer and I feel the Merc is better on the weight transfer front but has a psychopathic engine!

For those that have driven one of these, or some iteration, I seem to remember that it's pretty hard to work out how to switch TCS off, and now trying this car I understand why. Really struggling with the necessary delicateness of input required to get this thing out of a corner cleanly, and it's costing me tenths everywhere in my F1 Medical car!

Feel 'fortunate' (for want of a better word), to have survived a lap and ducked under a 1:45 (no TCS or CSA) but it's going to take a lot more practice to get into the 43's! It's difficult, but I like it!!

I’ll probably be in the minority on this, but I actually sort of like the combo of Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve and the Mercedes C63!! The thing slips and slides, feels like it won’t drive in a straight line… and yeah, I get the frustration with the chicanes and flat sausage curb… things… your tires need to be in the exact right spot to prevent bouncing off. Track limits are weird on this one. I’ve invalidated a couple of low 1:44 laps without even knowing what I did, so I’m definitely going to push more on this.

I’ve managed to get down to a 1:48.663 but hate this car on this course 😂

Looking for some feedback on shift points for the C 63. It is relatively heavy with a fairly fast shift and despite the turbo it's a small one so the cost of shifting is quite low.
That should mean the shift points are close to where the power curves per gear intersect: AMG Mercedes-AMG C 63 S '15.png

The real answer must be 'a little later' than what the revbar graphics in the top half of that image indicate, but how much later?

I'd also be quite curious what the difference in time is between shifting according to the blinking bar and the theoretical numbers, but I'm not fast nor consistent enough to get an idea of the gain in time over a lap. I can't imagine it to be much more than 0.2% of the lap time.

Managed to get on for about 30 minutes this afternoon. Opted to try the Merc in Canada. Not driven that track in GT7 until today so was on a rapid learning curve! I think I ended up on a 1:44.9xx I think (I was roughly 900th so whatever that time is), a low 44 would be achievable with another hour or two but doubtful I'll get that. Enjoyed it!

Many thanks to @Vule for providing the ghost that carried me deep into the top 100 for now. 💪 It‘s funny that you mentioned the final chicane as the weak spot of your lap, as it is definitely where I lose most time compared to you, so I know where I have to improve :D

On the flipside, the only corner where I have been consistently able to gain a few hundredths on you is the hairpin before that chicane, by going just a bit deeper, so you might want to check that out.

I like challenges that reveal themselves slowly, like a jigsaw puzzle you have to solve piece by piece, and this is one of those. Well to me at least.

Happy lapping folks!

Maybe it just felt like it because of the "don't mess this up now" :D

Thanks for the feedback, I had many different runs through there, tried the shallow entrance, deep entrance, and in the end I just decided to follow the WR ghost who does it very narrow and stayed in his tail for the whole straight. But if I decide to run again, I'll try following my own ghost and see where (if) I can gain :)

@Gomario JSP, I'll try to push more and improve my time. I'm coming for you!! 😂View attachment 1508557
Great time and placement Lopez!
Come and get it, challenge accepted 😁

I had a slightly better hairpin but as for many....this is one of my weakpoints....
Went in to deep a little but it did rotate quite good so didn't loose that much time on Calster, final chicane wasn't my greatest 🤣
Quite a scruffy lap but it was faster (wich i didnt expected tbh 🤣)

@Gomario JSP My friend, you know what? Scratch that, buddy 🤣🤣
I don't know what the heck I was thinking.

Great lap as always!

I managed to improve a bit. Theoretically, I could achieve a .4xx or so. Of course, when I'm having THE lap, I have to screw it all up in the last chicane 😂

This combo grew on me... But I think I'm very very close to my limit here.

Close! 😁 nice ! .... I had one invalidated .285 and a red 380..... still early! 🤣 but ( I think I say this on every tt lately......but this one is very hard to be consistently fast! 🤣 tomany walls to hit 🤣🤣

Good result mate 36 !🙏

Hi guys,

Short session for today (80 kms) rather than playing with you in Montreal, I preferred Daytona.

It’s on this circuit that I unlocked some things in general, and with the GR.3 cars, the use of my G pro Wheel in particular.

So I had to try to attach my 3 best sectors from yesterday.

Thing done, thank you @bliprunner , your ghost suits me better than others. Thank you man !

Provisionally in the GTP top 10 while waiting for @NAXEHT (or others) to make me back down to my usual ranking 😅

Happy Sunday to all.
