Early this morning, on the second attempt:
BUT, still not in 44s
Take @MP81 at Daytona ✅Probably! I remember nailing the bus stop that go around, so the likelihood of me improving on my lap time is pretty low, but I guess we'll see if I get motivation to go back out there.
As a Canadian...it's kinda grown on me a bit after my initial negative impressions. On to Canada next, a track I like a lot (which seems somehow unpopular to most of you guys, I didn't expect that)...
NOOOO!
I did a short session yesterday at CGV and was immediately on pace. After just three laps I reached a new PB of 1:43.445, over a tenth faster than my previous one and good enough for P35 in the world. But when I tried to look at the leaderboard I realized that I had gone offline. Apparently my ISP was doing maintenance work
I was kind of hopeful that the time would be synced once I restarted the game this morning (partly because I remember this being discussed as a tactic some players were accused of for snatching the WR right before an event ends) but that does not seem to be the case.
It‘s really a shame. At least I saved the replay so I can marvel at the lap that never was 😥
I don't remember last time I struggled a lot to get a gold time at least near 2,5% from top. There is something in this combo that doesn't match with what I'm trying to improve. Main loss are the exit corner from first and second chicane, and also the entry from 3rd chicane.
I like the car because you can control the slides in a easy way, but these power slides penalize too much.

I know, why do you think I put myself through this? 😂 With @Vule, @CosmicMinster and @bliprunner all having disappeared in the sunset, you need some competition.Nooooo, that's a shame mate!, that would have ment for me to go back again cause you would have kicked me down![]()
I haven't watched the lap but I did know where he could easily find a tenth, maybe he discovered it too...And Yukkuri just did a 42.553

I mean, you also need quite a bit of luck for the perfect lap, for example the second chicane, you really need to yeet it right and then left, to just barely be inside the track limits and at the same time not hit the wall on the exit and have a good proper exit carrying enough speed. So, yes, skill, yeet, but also luckor maybe I need a super yeet!
My case is a bit different (ok, my performances are significantly lower than yoursNooooo, that's a shame mate!, that would have ment for me to go back again cause you would have kicked me down
Although..... I'm getting bored faster and faster on these timetrials lately...., 1 or 2 sessions ( after my initial thursday remote- play first laps ) and after that i loose interest...
I'm hyping myself for the Xiaomi - Ring blast thursday.....
Nice lap buddy!
Yeah, maby it's healthy to take a break sometimes, the problem with me is thatMy case is a bit different (ok, my performances are significantly lower than yours).
I took a 6 to 7-month break with Gan Turismo 7.
Having never had an X Box, I really wanted to discover FH5.
If the atmosphere is nice and I spent many hours on this site, I got tired of this title.
Returning to Gran Turismo, I rediscovered the richness and finesse of this game.
My interest in the TT challenge comes from the imposed circuit/car combo.
This forces me to try combinations that I would never have tested.
The last example is WG/Lexus which was very pleasant once the flow is reached
Did you benefit from slipstreaming the AI, by any chance? My fastest lap with the Porsche 962C was a 1:31,5 which is much faster than my current best in the Daytona TT.
I'm hyping myself for the Xiaomi - Ring blast thursday.....
For now I'm saving my energy for the quite likely Xiaomi at Nurbs combo that is coming to destroy us all 💥
Thank you for motivating me to go againOK I couldn't resist having a go after watching Yukkuri's lap
A/ this seems to me an excellent balance ! 👍Yeah, maby it's healthy to take a break sometimes, the problem with me is that
A: I almost run early mornings exclusively .... as many know by now I start working at 7AM but if I'm not fed up with time trials the alarm goes at 5:30 to hotlap....and when I get home after work it's family time, wife and daughter time....so getting tired is a real thing....
But....
B: people like @crome for example, who will always be there on my leaderboard and even when I clock a very fast and descent top 100 time, I know that next time I boot up again he probably threw in a faster lap, and even worse..... I got many of those people on my leaderboard ....🤣
But that competition is the thing I like, and that combined with some FOMO makes stepping back from the game just very hard.
I'm 43 and only play GT7 .....(and sometimes team up with my wife in Fortnite for some hilarious Slaughter and beeing Slaughtered 🤣), so GT7 is sort of the only game I play and for me it's a big part of my world funny enough, the competition, the forum and even made real friends due to this thread.
So yeah.....maby healthy to step back a bit....to find the mojo again, but it's just to hard to ignore 🤣🤣
As we all know, there's no school like old school.the forums are a bit old school
