The kart TT wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

Improved a bit at Laguna too.

Ahh yes...wasn't it just recently that I was expressing my severe detestation for this 911 GT3 R?

That hasn't changed.

First session (with AXC Sim's new magnetic paddle upgrade - very lovely!), resulting in a 1:21.043 with an optimum of a .004. Was hoping to get into the 1:20s, probably can (famous last words), but I was starting to get annoyed even when I got my .043, and then went off the track the next lap, because sausage, and I felt it was a good place to end.

Second attempt, I did some experimenting with assists, seeing that the top guy used ASM instead of CSA and he used TCS for first part of the lap, but I couldn't adapt to that style, so I went back to ABS-off, CSA strong, nothing else.

This was a good one, and looking at the sector times, I could maybe find another tenth in the perfect lap, but that would take many many attempts, we'll see :)

Oeef, nice lap there!, hauulliing with them big boys now huh

I tried this morning on the tv instead of the laptop...
This is not realy something i like.... and not something i am going to be very good at...
Tried ABS off but the i have absolutely no feeling for any brakes at all on the pad.. so default on this lap and CSA strong
But i can't seem to rotate is properly through the first few tight corners.

I don't like

The prize for the days of play TT is pointless.

These drivers get to travel the world playing this and also, I'd imagine a few don't even have to work a real job. Obviously they're good because they can devote 12 hours a day or whatever to this game.

Not entirely sure why the prize isn't just a random draw for anyone who gets gold. First moan from me in ages I just hate that the prize goes to the top player as it's gonna be one of about 8 drivers.

There's six other identical prize bundles going to entered players through that method: one global, and one each to North America, South America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Australia/New Zealand.

I didn't see that in the Ts and Cs because they're always so long and I just do a quick eye scan for if they're gonna steal my life via AI if I click accept these days, but thank you 😂

The Kart TT isn't terrible, Nordwand is very nice to drive in a kart.

[EDIT Just read Famines post so the below is already a bit out of date lol] And surely Days of Play is an inclusive celebration of games, a few free digital gifts for the masses would be easy and cheap to implement (I'm sure theres a spreadsheet somewhere with MTX sales vs credit giveaways). Maybe even something fun like a roulette ticket that runs 6 drawers, one for every star building a prize basket.

I think Hollo is a chance and he is a regular dude, well for now.

The results post for TT203 at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in the Gr.2 is now up.

Massive thank you to a big effort yesterday from @crome to get us to a place where, fingers crossed, we were before PD put the barricades up on their data. Vive la Résistance!

I will update the top 2 posts in that other thread later and add the results for the Monza event which finished on Thursday - that may be delayed a few days, but it is coming. With some luck, normal service should resume from this Thursday.

Vive la Résistance indeed, and a big thank you right back at you! You have been investing and continue to invest way more sweat, blood and tears into this community than I ever did.

On that note, some of you might have noticed that there was quite a bit of radio silence from me over the last weeks, which was in part caused by frustration with this whole situation. I'm in a better place now ;) and will try to show up more frequently again, although maybe not as frequently as before. But in any case I will still lurk here and compete for leaderboard positions with all you fine people. Cheers!

PS unfortunately the solution we came up with for the statistics does not work for my gtplanet plug-in. I am sure those of you who still use it are noticing inconsistencies and outdated information. Behind the scenes I continue to make improvements to make it more reliable again, so hang in there.

Happy weekend everyone - got some time this morning to put some laps in.

Unfinished business at Monza - engage CSA and found three quarters of a second. Optimal is a 24.9 but not sure whether I have the patience to run it again, although it’s a lot more enjoyable with CSA.

Spoiled for choice on where to go after that, but picked the Laguna Seca event. CSA now disengaged again, the speed was a bit of a shock after the Mangusta!! I do enjoy both the track and the 911 so will keep plugging away at this one. Haven’t tried the kart yet - so many TT, so little time!! Cheers all

Going to be tough just breaking into the top 1000, although @A_Higher_Place, you’re making indecent progress!! Great time

Made more laps at Laguna. I can't seem to find the aliens speed, but a decent lap happened last night. Going to continue to try this one.
As for the Kart...nope, after about 30 minutes of that nonsense, I will not be participating in that one, y'all enjoy. Im sitting on the side drinking beer and watching all of y'all. 🤣

Great lap @MP81 btw!
Thanks! It took me a while to barely get into Gold and eventually get down there, but a high 1:20 eluded me that first session - fighting the random, terminal understeer of that car was difficult for me at Trial Mountain a ~month ago. At least here it is a shorter course...but when the car decides "actually, you know what, I know what turning is", it throws you right into a sausage and bounces you off the track.

I'm sure I'll go back at it, but whether or not improvement is possible is another thing entirely...it doesn't help there are two other time trials to work on as well...annoying when they blast us all with 40 of them at once.

I think this Porsche is highly dependent on weight transfer. A small tap on the brakes, or downshift seems to help throw some weight on the front wheels to get some grip. At least that is working for me.

Morning - had one final run at Monza. Gave myself 10 laps and got down to some good splits quite quickly, but could only get within a tenth of my best over a single lap. Decided to throw in the towel and move on…

After running the 911 yesterday, I thought I’d have a go at the kart. Wow!! Don’t think I’ve driven this since the Brands Indy event, and I’d forgot just how sensitive they were. After some setting adjustments and recalibration of my hands and feet, I started to see some progress. Settled on ABS off and CSA strong as others have. Hairpins are killing me though lol

Managed to hack another 8 tenths off my time at Monza but man I can't stand the Mangusta! It has a suspension made of pool noodles and wishful thinking and brakes that randomly just throw up their hands and say "nope not into the whole slowing down thing right now brah." It's a very frustrating car to drive! I doubt gold is happening but at least I'm getting a little closer finally.

What it really wants to do is start on fire - but that is thankfully not a mechanic in this game.

Jumped into the Kart at EN and boy...that's a twitchy little thing, ain't it?

I got to do two successive sessions, because the game crashed during the first one, after about ~30 laps...so I wanted to continue and improve, but also get my daily workout that it cheated me out of by doing so (thankfully it didn't lose my 1:09.735 time). Ended up with a 1:09.536 and an optimum of .325. I'm sure there's more time in it, just not tonight, since the game conveniently wasted 30 additional minutes of my time "for" me.
