GT7 & PSVR2

Has anyone tried PSVR since the latest GT update? One of my racing buddies is saying the HUD corruption when using the Pro-specific VR option is now fixed?
I’ve been having an issue where if I’ve been driving with VR and turn it off for a bit leaving the PlayStation on, and then come back to it and switch VR back on, it will give me the takeoff headset symbol in the headset.

Basically it will not work with PSVR2 again unless I unplug/replug the USB or restart the console.

It’s kind of annoying.

As for visual quality, I have the PS5 Pro with PSSR2 and I see no difference at the moment in VR. Flatscreen seems better though.

I’ve done my own testing with an M3 and a formula car. Previously it appeared that where the floating HUD overlaid the environment, the HUD would glitch. When overlaying the car interior the HUD would be fine.

I can confirm this is still the case. However, I don’t know if it’s placebo, but it does seem slightly better now.

Not suggesting PSSR2 is involved, btw. Was more wondering about a stealth fix in the latest GT update.

A good wipe of the VR lens with a 2$ microfiber cloth also removes a lot of noises.

I have been testing the PS5 Pro+PSVR2, past 5 days.
Switched back and forth between PS5 and Pro, there is small noticeable difference.
  • Ghosting is mostly gone for the things out side the track
  • Slightly better reflection and lighting on cars around.
  • Slightly better visual on the red and white stripe on curb as you drive by them

But not worth 1200$ Cnd (if you include the disk drive and taxes) only for GT7.
The core driving gameplay is the same.

I'm about to return it to the store, might wait a few days in case more details emerge about that PSSR2 or if a surprise magical update pop up.
I didn't want to believe until now
But after watching this video

I think I am now convinced there is a difference

He didn't test GT7 here, but he said he will in the next video....

But it's already long time confirmed PSVR2 games look better on Pro. GT7 as well. I switched to Pro and with that new reprojection setting there is no more ghosting and LOD is a bit better on Pro. At the same time no difference on VR after Pro PSSR2 update.

@Pianista:

It was the same for me.

Upgraded to the pro solely for gt7/psvr2 shortly after the pro released. had around 500 hours of psvr2/gt7 on the standard ps5 at that point.

The difference in motion clarity due to the different reprojection method on the pro was and still is (atleast in my eyes) a huge improvement and the main selling point the pro has regarding gt7.

The only tradeoff is the hud distortion, but as stated before: only hud elements that hover in front of fast moving objects (track objects) are affected. That means only openwheelers and a few regular cars are affected.

When I bought my PS5 last January, the price difference between a base PS5 and Pro was insane; I could basically buy a base PS5 and a PSVR2 for the price of a Pro

I mean, obviously it'll be up to the end user to see if that price is worth it.

After a first test, I immediately wanted a PS5 Pro for GT7.

I had the chance to acquire these devices during the privileged moment of Black Friday 2025, and I do not regret it.

The latest announcements regarding princes are quite bad for players still in reflection.

If GT7 justifies every penny of this material, I must admit that I play no other VR title.

I am waiting with great interest for the update of MFS 2024.

I really still don't understand the skepticism of some of you regarding the future of Sony VR and next headset.

GT7 and whichever the next title will be on the next gen console are the games that NEEDS TO be on VR(3)

And all the titles coming out now....
Sony just cannot abandon VR....

I am still hopeful

I assume some of that thinking could've been applied back when Sony was all-in on 3D :indiff:

But I still agree with you; these headsets already exist and provide no use without the software to go along with it. It's not like a 3DTV that you can watch without the 3D, the "gimmick" (for lack of a better word) is the entire reason the VR headset exists at all and is useless at anything else (unless you're someone who really likes browsing the internet in VR via the PC adapter).

Ladies and Gentleman,

I read somewhere here at GTPlanet, where exactly I've already forgotten, there is a place here where we can make suggestions and someone at PD is possibly, likely, maybe going to read.

I got the impression from the post I read this at, the more "votes" a suggestion there gets, the more it may be considered for inclusion in a future iteration of a Gran Turismo game, be it the currently live title or another. The more votes an OP in a thread gets the higher up the list, when it's sorted that way will be.

The post I just put up, where I've attempted to list most of our dissatisfaction with the information VR2 players get, rolled up in what I think is a neat package is linked below;

It's possible it's a repeat/duplicate "suggestion" so may get taken down.

I'm fairly convinced, short of every GT VR2 player in the world, converging on PD HQ in Japan and picketing for hours to get these QOL features added, this is our only means of convincing them we're serious about these changes.

The call is out to the VR Collective!

yeah yeah, if ya'll do go "vote" that thread up, it'll bloat the 💩 outta' my reaction score here. Still, I'll "take one for the team". ;)

Did anyone else get this survey? They asked a lot about the power pack at first and at the end what I wanted from GT7 Spec IV. I talked about better and more single player career races, my problems with normal AI drivers and Sophy AI, and I mentioned all the issues with PSVR2 that I wanted to be fixed in Spec IV.

I mentioned more data on the HUD in VR, same as you would get in flat screen such as leaderboards, delta times, etc., and one button that would disable / enable the HUD in VR in-race without exiting to pause menu, etc..

If you get that survey, definitely list all your concerns about VR mode at the end of the survey.

I have similar lights, but I need to figure out where to place them...
I usually place mine facing up so it lights up my entire room, but I'm always curious as to whether that's the best position.

Maybe it's placebo, but I have a TV above the monitor I use to play my games flatscreen and I always feel that, when it's on, the tracking is better.

My issues is not so much about orientation but more of a place to put/hang those. Not possible on the rig (or I install them like headlights on a car, could be fun 🤣 ) and even less spots elsewhere.

I need to find a way, I'd like to try to play in full dark without the silicone light blocker.
