[European Sunday Cup 500]
Don't expect "Safety" when you're driving.
Do you call it danger? Or do you call it adventure?

[Japanese 4WD Challenge 600]
In short, this is a long goodbye
to unexpecting you.

[American Clubman Cup 700]
It didn't rain, that's all.

[Special Race]
I failed to adjust the difficulty, and the second half of the race turned into a battle against boredom and sleepiness.

[WTC800]
This time I made a good car choice.

April – Week 4
I missed last week's challenges, but I've had a good ride this week. Races were quite interesting and I used:
Gamepad | Automatic transmission | Race Difficulty – Hard

#5 | WTC800 | Autodrome Lago Maggiore
Mazda LM55 VGT (Gr.1) | PP 800 | RM tyres | FM 6 | no pit

I decided to choose a tactic without a pit stop with RM tyres. It's bad that I overtook all the leaders when they were in the pits. On the last lap, I was afraid that I would leave the track due to tire wear. But careful driving allowed me to finish the first.

#4 Special Race – Hyundai Elantra N TC – One Make | WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
Hyundai Elantra N TC ‘24 | PP 689 | RS tyres

I never drove Elantra before and the 1st lap was spent to learn how to use the break and acceleration. Despite my power advantage, I finished with a lead of only 4 seconds. Perhaps Elantra needs to be adjusted more precisely, but I absolutely agree with RandomGuy18 - "they constantly invent events with crappy cars".

#3 American Clubman Cup 700 | High Speed Ring Reverse
Chevrolet Camaro ‘69 Race-Mod | PP 700 | IM tyres | NOS

It's funny that the last 3 races followed the same scenario. I would overtake everyone, and then one of the pursuers would start approaching me.
For this race, I choose Camaro ‘69 Race-Mod – very fast and stable car. On the last lap, I saw the GAC Maveric catching up with me and I had to press the boost button.

#2 Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 | Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
Nissan R32 GT-R V-spec II ‘94 | PP 600 | SS tyres | NOS

The same race as the previous one, but instead of the GAC was AFEELA.

#1 European Sunday Cup 500 | Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
VW Scirocco R ’10 | PP 500 | CS tyres | NOS

Two laps are not enough to create a big lead, but nevertheless I won with an advantage of 4 seconds.

Quick off the top of my head summary of what my randomiser threw in my direction:

Euro Sunday 500: K20-swapped Fiat 500 SS. (Quick, but not fun to drive, does anyone have a workable tune for this swap?). Scraped 3rd place.

Japan 4WD 600: Toyota Corolla Morizo Edition. Just about beat the looming AFEELA.

US Clubman 700: Mustang Group 3 Road Car. Struggled on the straights, but just enough ooomph around the bends to end up in 3rd behind two rockets. Retried using the Maverick-swapped version just to get my revenge

WTC 800: Tuned Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with RH and aero parts. This one I'm pretty happy with. It took me four attempts in order to get the fuel economy in order. Now that I have the win, I have renewed confidence to try out more road cars in these events.

My initial run on this. Hard difficulty.

Chances of rain are high, so Inters will do.

On dry, Mediums are your best bet. Autopolis loves to eat tires, so Softs are out of the question.

I will try running this tomorrow with the SF23, on higher downforce. 🤔

You'll never believe what the video I recorded was last night

Well that's two cars figured out for tonight. Also, its that rare time of the year where PD times an event with real world one.
Video in question:

So I guess there's a strat you can glean for this race in particular if you're up for it.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Twingo, Twingo, Little Star

A fresh set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges lights up this Thursday, April 23, landing alongside today’s GT7 1.69 update and running through next Thursday, April 30. Five new events, seven days on the clock, and this week there’s a brand-new, beloved car headlining the action...

Is this a sign that you are back writing the articles?
He's writing update articles, but I'm afraid you're stuck with me and my puns for now.

I didn't have anything better to do on this Easter Monday, so I spent the whole day at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
I give you three photos first :

It all began when I read @Fuzzi0n 's post about him running the race and winning it with the stock Porsche 911 GT3 R on RH tires.
Honestly, I was really impressed ... and yesterday night I decided to try myself. Thanks for your help btw @Fuzzi0n .
So that's what I did all day long. I was having a hard time ( at times ) and it's been a hard lesson about what it means to do 12 laps on the very edge. Because I've been driving at my very limit. Gazillions of attempts, shaving away tenths of seconds, improving consistency, trying to get the next chicane right ... And of course, although it wasn't my main focus at all, win the race maybe.
I tell you, it actually took six hours until I found that grid with a chance to win. And I did :

And I'm proud !

Compared to the Porsche, the Pagani's a killer and delivered a safe win. My cool down laps ! :) I had built the car recently and I found one of these 2d effect liveries that really fascinate me. And the Nissan run ? Well, that's been the icing on my Easter cake after a long and hard racing day. The car's fast, just fast ... :D
The Zonda livery is really cool.

Maggiore race is a walk in the park... or lake.

Stock horsepower GT3R with uprated downforce. Started in FM1 on Mediums then Softs during pit stop on Lap 5.

AI cars do pit, but will not change tires. They use Hards. Overall a very easy race, as they will become turtles at final leg with worn out tires.

Which I regret.

Here's my starting point for the Power Pack challenges. Since you can choose any race and do repeats I did "Bump Draft" at Daytona.

Took this leftover car used for farming Tokyo ages ago and maxed it out. Stay in 5th and it will go around the oval in under 38 seconds.

Widebody, type A aero parts, custom wing, wide wheels and offset.

I'm sure people who actually have a clue will find cars and setups that will enable you to do this race way quicker still since the only requirements are RH tyres and 720pp max.

Easy but also fun week.

All done on Hard difficulty.

Fell in love with the 964 Turbo. Reminded me the legacy of the Porsche brand.

Twingoat will always live in my memories.

Made a quick work on the GT-R event with the R35.

GT3 RS with a 911 turbo engine is the best engine swap in my opinion.

No clipping, no mushrooms eaten, just pure Formula racing.

19dbccad0ea89-screenshotUrl.webp

SF23 with high downforce, Medium tires. Overtook the entire grid by Lap 5 then it started raining. Switched to Inters and stayed out after AI pit in once again at Lap 7. Lap 8 was when I boxed in for a fresh set of Mediums.

No tire whispering done. More like tire shouting.

Profit.

Not the most interesting week but I still had fun with a few races. Sunday Cup is a breeze, you can be under the suggested PP and win no problem. Twingo one-make is possible with a stock car, took me a couple of tries because the first time I got pit moved by the AI and lost 3 seconds, if you can avoid them holding you up it's a decent challenge but fun. GT-R Cup was fun even though I prefer that track in the other direction, 400R was a good pick given the AI wasn't that fast. Schwarzwald League embodies everything wrong with these kind of events, over 30 second gap to make up in 4 laps while one AI pulls 20 seconds on the rest of the field. Had to run 1:38-1:39 laps to win, even then I only passed the leader on the brakes into the last corner, rest of them drive so slow you have to take evasive action to not get held up. Shame they didn't close the field up and run some slower cars for a longer race to showcase the new 964. Super Formula is like most of the others, AI isn't fast although I think in the dry most won't pit. If you run RM/RM you'll easily win even without rain, my race only had two laps of IM then back to RM, some of the AI just stayed out given the track barely got wet enough.

Cars for this week:
