Tried the Twingo special event on normal, with a standard Twingo, ended up 3rd, not easy to catch the raaaaaaaabiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Whats Up Hello GIF by HBO Max

Tried twice with my 964T on RH, race suspension, race brakes and race exhaust. No where close to the top three. Third race, I avoided the AI at the chicane after the underpass and noticed I didn’t spawn. Fourth race, used the Free Roam option that PD provided, at all chicanes. Still finished a hair behind P1. Can’t see why it would be so bad to use grid starts.

Sunday Cup: Renault Captur S. Ez (as long as you pay attention)
Nissan GT-R Cup: Nissan GT-R R35 T-Spec. Another one in the bag, though I did almost throw said bag away.
Schwarzwald League: Mercedes AMG GT R. Absolute cinema on that last lap.
Super Formula: Dallara SF23/Honda. Pretty much identical to my In-car Theater video, though slightly more difficult.
Special Event: Challenging, but doable and fun.

Edit: Regarding that race at CGV

... and my 6-star prize car after completing the Super Formula race was the exact same car I used in the race. Sigh. That feels like a big waste of time.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Twingo, Twingo, Little Star

A fresh set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges lights up this Thursday, April 23, landing alongside today’s GT7 1.69 update and running through next Thursday, April 30. Five new events, seven days on the clock, and this week there’s a brand-new, beloved car headlining the action...

He's writing update articles, but I'm afraid you're stuck with me and my puns for now.
Once again, that title is absolute literature.

I started off with the Twingo race. Entered a mildly modded one on SS. I just don't enjoy low powered cars coupled with tall gearing. lol Took me a bit to get used to it and won by about 4 seconds.
Next up was the race in Tokyo. Used my Kaido-style Super Carry on SS. Overtook the Mazda at the end of the first and won by around 6 seconds.
For the GTR race I used a car that hasn't seen this race yet. One of my Z-Tunes on SS. Overkill though. Won by a minute.
CGV was a fun race. Used a car I haven't tried in the Schwarzwalde series, AMG Black on SS. Overtook Carrazza for first halfway through the last lap and won by around 4 seconds.
I downgraded the difficulty for the SF race but it was one of those " I could have won it on Normal" situations. Used the Honda SF on RM. Rain started on lap 3 which by then I was already in second. Took first but I undercut the field and pitted at the end of 4 for IM's. They pitted a lap later and after that it was basically over. I went back in for RM's at the end of 7, lapped half of the field and won by a minute and a half. I'll probably try it on Normal someday.
Won an LFA with the ticket which I'll sell if I need the credits.
Now on to enjoy the Power pack and win some races I 've lost. Now with my OWN cars. lol

This week's photos are in a different style than my usual as my usual track photographer had a better assignment and couldn't make the travels from Canada, Croatia, Italy, and Japan. So I had to make do with static posed shots with my driver.

In Tokyo.
19dc56a0cb952-screenshotUrl.webp
In the pits at Monza. (Closest track to Lago Maggiorre)
19dc56a330c60-screenshotUrl.webp
Also in Italy as no cameras were allowed in the pits at Dragon Trail.

At CGV in Canada.

And back to Japan at Autopolis.

Strange. Both races 1 and 2 are on the slow side of the spectrum and although I like racing slower cars the events didn't provide similar fun. While running my Carry KC around Tokyo was simply fantastic with 98 percent pedal to the metal  the Twingo at Lago Maggiore felt a bit stale. I don't say the car is bad, it's not. It's been the track maybe, maybe the race length, maybe the fact the Twingo's even slower, don't know. At least I was so keen to do the race twice. First car version had some sport upgrades, second car version was stock.
As for the GT-R event I didn't put much thought into it honestly. Just grabbed my beloved swapped 1970 Skyline and what can I say, even at a moderate 625 PP it's unstoppable.
There's a good chance the CGV race becomes my favorite for this week, it had a hard start however as my first attempt was GT racing at its worst. 14 roadblocks and a stupidly fast lead car ending in a ( scripted ? ) photo finish - others have reported before. Unnecessary stuff, just silly ! I did the race a couple more times now and I can assure you though, there's other scenarios too. Thumbs up.
What's left ? Ah, Autopolis ! Well, all I wanted was get it done. Started the race and hey, I got it done.
Don't exactly know how, guess I had some luck too. Had quite a bit of rain for four or five laps ... but I didn't change tires. Went on.
Had to save the car more than once ... but it worked somehow and I got through. FM 1 RM no stop no bonus !

the track moisture messed my strategy up at autopolis had to go super saiyan after going to softs near the end of the race to catch up and pass the leader

If you want to have a lot of fun on the Dragon's Tail event, and you're still a follower of @praiano63 , his recent Nissan R34 GT-R V-spec II Nur '02 700pp tune is a perfect choice.

This week's cars...
weekly-challenge-202604w4-79-picks.webp

It was a pretty straightforward week with these cars...

weekly-challenge-202604w4-79-r1.webp

Tokyo Expressway - Volvo 240 SE Estate '93 - I upgraded the tires to CS and added a bunch of sports-level upgrades to get it close to the recommended PP. It took a couple attempts. I was braking way too much on the first attempt. I figured out by the second that I could just lift instead, which made for an easy win.

weekly-challenge-202604w4-79-r2.webp

Lago Maggiore - Renault Twingo '93 - I upgraded the tires to CS. That was enough for the win. A pretty dull race, though.

weekly-challenge-202604w4-79-r3.webp

Dragon Trail - Nissan GT-R '17 - I've used this car before and already had it upgraded to 685PP. I don't remember what I did to it, but it was way more than enough for the win. I took the lead on the second lap.

weekly-challenge-202604w4-79-r4.webp

CGV - Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series '20 - This was a challenge. I upgraded the car to SS tires, which put it at 699PP. I only managed to catch the leader on the final straight of the final lap. With this car's top speed, it was no problem getting by for the win.

weekly-challenge-202604w4-79-r5.webp

Autopolis - SF23 Super Formula/Toyota '23 - I ended up doing a no-stop on RMs. There was rain, but not enough to require changing. Things got really sketchy towards the end. The front left tire was completely worn for the final lap. Thankfully, I had enough of a lead from all the AI cars switching to IMs and back to slicks again that I wasn't in any danger of losing the lead.

The final ticket gave me a Toyota TS050 - Hybrid '16. Already had one.
