Pretty decent week. Sunday Cup can have a bit of rain, just have to watch for the 356 if it starts at the front and avoids the lapped cars, otherwise it's quite easy as long as you don't get Unimogged. Clubman Cup is a challenge to see if you can catch Gallo before he's in the lead, as long as you can do that it should be no problem but the AI will hold you up in certain corners. The time trial wasn't very interesting like usual and it seems like the Giulia understeers more with the new physics, although it was still an easy gold. WTC 600 is the opposite of easy depending on the field. I've done this race a few times and twice in my 585 PP Maserati GranTurismo. One race I barely caught the two Lamborghinis but this time I won by 8 seconds as the quickest car was the '14 WRX. Gr.1 is a fun race because I like the track a lot for high downforce cars and the AI is so slow you can use anything you want. 963 on RM with 1 pit stop gave me a win by 40 seconds, most of the time running low 1:40 laps.

Cars for this week:

Quick work on this batch.

Completely stock, CS tires, No ABS. All fun.

I always take precautions on these European 600 events. Especially when Gallo's Giulia is around.

This ain't a 911 GT3, but still a well sorted chassis.

And once again, no mercy towards forced difficulty 40-second rabbits.

Dropped from 1st to 10th, that coco bun had it coming.

Unleashed the lion in Abu Dhabi. Still working on the setup, though. Apparently Gr.1 cars now have increased downforce adjustability.

Adieu!

Oh boy, the LM55 VGT has turned into an even bigger menace.

The new physics update adjusted the downforce levels of most cars. The Gr.1 class receives buffs.

For the Hyper Car Class, their max downforce levels are now at 1000/1500, much higher than 800/1200 from the previous patch.

The VGTs and Hybrid LMP1s (including this base LM55) now has 1500/2000 max, instead of 1200/1600 from before.

The diesels such as the R18 and 908, only had 2000 rear downforce max, while 1250 at the front.

And knowing how diabolical this car is, it can definitely slaughter the 950 pp class, and then some more.

The LM55 got the fastest lap on Medium tires, mind you...

Compared to the 908 I have done earlier:

Fastest lap was done on Softs.

Here's a sample lap of this monster. I can push it even harder than before.

A new set of challenges has arrived, where you get to drive an Italian sedan with a spoiler, race Gr.1 machinery as the sun sets, and maybe even give the Unimog sitting in your garage a use for once.

Race 1 - Sunday Cup Classic @ RBR Short
For this one, I picked the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta and threw on some comfort hard tires to give it less grip. Still, I would win by 24 seconds anyway. Not much to say here.

IMG_0400.webp

Race 2 - Euro Clubman Cup 600 @ Deep Forest Reverse
I chose a tuned De Tomaso Pantera for this race. Even after out-braking myself a few times after the backstretch and accidentally hitting a wall, I managed to take first place by lap 4 after a divebomb on the Miura. Margin of victory was 10 seconds.

IMG_0401.webp

Race 3 - Time Trial @ Trial Mountain Reverse
It was off to Trial Mountain where a red Giulia GTAm awaited me. For this one, you must navigate the twisties following the back straight, but in reverse. After a few tries in order to make myself not look like a total noob, I managed a 0:56.910, compared to the goal of 0:57.800. It’s all about commitment, especially through the final sweepers leading up to the pit straight.

IMG_0402.webp

Race 4 - World Touring Car 600 @ Suzuka
I picked a bone-stock Lamborghini Diablo GT for this race to see if I can win it. It can be tricky to beat this race with stock machinery, but it is doable in certain cars. The Diablo’s only change was slightly softer rubber: sports medium tires. That way, it stays under 600PP as the sports softs will tip it over that requirement. The car managed to get to the lead by lap 3 and won by five seconds. Not too shabby for a car with zero upgrades other than some better sports tires.

Race 5 - Gr.1 Prototype Series @ Yas Marina
We are back in prototypes for this week, which means that I can bust out one of the Hypercars again. My choice: a fully-upgraded Porsche 963 with JDC-Miller’s Mustang Sampling livery from this IMSA season. The strategy: hard slicks, fuel map 1, completely flat out, no stops whatsoever. Channeling my inner Laurin Heinrich, I ended up winning by over a minute. Livery credit goes to yu-ki110161.

IMG_0404.webp

And that was that as far as the challenges go. My six-star ticket netted me a flat-eight-powered beast of a car: the Porsche 917 Living Legend. No complaints here.

Take care!

Playing by the rules in a Cappuccino was not enough to take the Sunday Cup, so I brought out the straight 8 for a literal photo finish against the sleeper Speedster.

The Scuderia crushed Gallo in the curves.

The glow of the green lantern
IMG_5314.webp

I only managed second but had a ball with the D-Type humming on racing softs. Watch out for short wheel travel on the curbs!
IMG_5316.webp

950 race TBD.

Sunday Cup Classic: Alfa Romeo Giulia. Almost got Unimogged but luckily, that also meant Hunter in his 356 was heavily held up
European Clubman Cup 600: Porsche 911 GT3 (996). Fun times as usual (Though Gallo was there..Briefly)
World Touring Car 600: Honda NSX. Another WTC 600 event, another appearance for this car.
Gr.1 Prototype Series: BMW M Hybrid V8. Got a good draw on opponents so thankfully a challenging but fun race.
Special Event: Quite a tricky one to figure out but nailed it once I did

Currently got difficulty set to hard and the Sunday cup is broken, the 356 Porsche is 390 pp dead stock vs recommendation of 350pp for the race. even in a stock 356, its not easy to follow the NPC car either, thanks to there not being much grip.
I did try with a twingo @ 345pp, was 18 seconds down at the start of lap 3...

600 class still broken too, the NPC Alfa has massive speed on straights, good for a few seconds gain each time, even over your own Alfa at 599pp. best thing you can do is if you see it getting clear track up front is back all the way out and back in to get a different race and hope he gets hung up behind traffic, once you're in front you can control the race.

Shame these weren't fixed in the readjustment of pp in last update.

Decent week although the TT is not for me. Whenever I hear that Alfa I have the Euro Clubman600 shivers.
Sunday Cup was in my Aqua that is now over the suggested PP but oh well. Won by around 4 seconds.
For the Euro I deployed my modified Caterham that was still under the suggested PP. That was fun. Gallo got caught behind a few cars after I overtook him so I was able to pull away. Won by 14 seconds.
TT was Bronze and done.
WTC600 was fun too in one of my Leichtbaus on RH. It was a fight until the last lap when I took the lead halfway through it. Won by 4 seconds.
Yas Marina was in my OP car that has won this race before,Mazda LM. Lapped everyone but the three behind me.
Won 1M credits which goes to my Spec IV funds. lol

That's been a strange week - mixed feelings on my side after the new challenges.
The first three races were great, I really had to work hard partially, but I enjoyed the cars I used. And the fight. At Spielberg it's been the Barker Tourer and regarding the fact that it's almost a hundred years old now, it's a fantastic vehicle. Isn't it ? Chapeau Mercedes !
Now the race at Yas Marina was what jangled me. Using the LM55 VGT it's not been a question of winning or not, but my driving felt too slow and all over the place at times.
Maybe the new physics make obvious where my weaknesses are driving high DF cars. Don't know ! Feeling p ... !
Would be really cool if you @RCKakashi14 could come over with the first page of your LM55 VGT setup. ;)
And the time trial, that's been fun again. On a great piece of track. With a crucial first turn. Had achieved a 56.0 something after 15 minutes or so, breaking into the 55 s took a bit more time but I've been patient enough !

The 6 star ticket gave me a Tomahawk which is sold already and another really good thing was,
I think I finally know what "get Unimogged" means :

WC_260904_U1.webp

Couldn't avoid that erratic beast at my first attempt. Salut !

Did an even faster run with this new setup..

So here is the tune. Be forewarned, it is NOT EASY to drive this thing. This setup was tuned for the wheel, so controller players might need to familiarize this car even longer.

- When you trail brake, steer gently. The car's rear lights up suddenly. But... it also has one of the best slip angles on corner entry... if done correctly. :sly:

- You can use 3rd gear on low speed, traction dependent corners. And you can bury the throttle with gusto.

- This car serves me well ever since the Gr.1 Prototype races came out. Can bite you if it finds out you used another car.

As a consequence to this, the flying lap video is now confidential, under lock and key.

Good luck driving!
