It’s my turn for the Weekly Challenges. My theme for the week was Power by Ford.

My Garage Choices:

Race 1: Sunday Cup Classic- Shelby GT350 ‘65, stock, with corrected transmission ratios. Easy win, but rear traction is nonexistent. The 356 was hunting me down at the end.

Race 2: European Clubman Cup- BAC Mono, stock. Pretty good and straightforward win. Gallo was nowhere to be seen. I might go back and do this race with my Pantera.

Race 3: Alfa GTAm Time Trial- Took a few tries to get Gold, but got it done.

Race 4: World Touring Car 600- Ford GT40 MkI ‘66, tuned to replicate the 1968 302ci powered Mark I Le Mans winner. GT40 made this race relatively easy. Also helped that all of the OP AI started towards the back.

Race 5: Group 1 Prototype Series- F3500-A, with F3500-B V8 swap. I dubbed this race Michael Andretti’s Revenge. Easy win, no stop strategy with Hards and a tiny bit of lift-and-coast to ensure the fuel lasted. Overkill, sure, but it fit the theme.

All three races were completed with the same event and car combo. The GT40 Mark IV at Daytona Bump Drafting was my chosen horse for the this week’s money maker.

So here is the tune. Be forewarned, it is NOT EASY to drive this thing. This setup was tuned for the wheel, so controller players might need to familiarize this car even longer.

- When you trail brake, steer gently. The car's rear lights up suddenly. But... it also has one of the best slip angles on corner entry... if done correctly. :sly:

- You can use 3rd gear on low speed, traction dependent corners. And you can bury the throttle with gusto.

- This car serves me well ever since the Gr.1 Prototype races came out. Can bite you if it finds out you used another car. :lol:


As a consequence to this, the flying lap video is now confidential, under lock and key. :lol:

Just one more comment : From your description I already see some of the difficulties with the DS4 as I've experienced parts of it myself. Poor me ... :lol:

Over the last year or more, PD seems to have upped the difficulty, in general, of GT7's Weekly time trials. This particular Alfa Romeo is no exception. A heavy, powerful car on hard tires. What could go wrong?

What I used, the F430 was a new car for me and the TTS I had not used in years, the Alfa was a poorly set-up car imo, I did struggle with the time-trial.

I always find the WTC600 races hard compared to most others - I've failed miserably so far, despite constant purple laps, so I'll try the F430 now.

It'll depend where Gallo starts quite a lot I assume. I was setting 1:39s and won overall by a few seconds (misleading though, he gains like 2s before the finish line but will lose loads more up to T1)

Was only at about 570pp, 300hp Alpine on Sports Meds, so more than doable if you can get him shoved down there.

The week that was...

Red Bull Ring | Sunday Cup Classic | Stock Mini-Cooper 'S' '65 with no ABS

Another race with one OP opponent from Aliens'r'us. All you can do is hope he gets stuck in traffic. 20 attempts later he got held back and was no match for the lead I got on himn in stock 1965 Mini. CRB ✅



Deep Forest | European Clubman Cup 600 | Stock Seven Superlight R500 '08 with no ABS

Love this car in VR. Super fun with a wheel & pedals too. Many attempts to get the win with no ABS and the CRB. Never boring though. Great challenge.



Suzuka | World Touring Car 600 | Stock Lexus LFA '10

This race took up the rest of my week. What a challenge. Every attempt either the green Lamborghini, the white RX-7, or the white GT-7 had the OP car. If it got out front, you're toast.

I think I attempted this race about 50 times. I took one last swing at it right before heading off to work today and couldn't believe my eyes when I hit the lead at the beginning of the last lap.

Another lucky 'OP stuck in traffic' win for me. CRB ✅

Ioniq 6N's performance points are far too great from its actual performance. Underwhelming.

650S got buffed in downforce adjustment. Much better car, along with the engine swap.

Mediums, on FM1. Can potentially touch high 2:20s on Softs. The rain just got in the way.

Decent week, highlight was definitely Spa. Sunday Cup is pretty easy although the AI did seem a little faster than I expected. FR Challenge is simple as it's just about top speed on the oval, most opponents are gearing limited but the others are quite fast. Porsche Cup has a few fast grids so I just went with the 991 GT3 RS and won easily, quite a fun car around that track. One-make is stupidly easy, won by 20 seconds even though I outbraked myself multiple times. Definitely a weird car to drive compared to a lot of other things, I'd have to spend a bit more time with it to get fast. WTC 700 is the best race by far, I've done this so many times because of the variable weather and it getting darker towards the end. Now that the performance points for most cars have dropped you can use some very broken tuned road cars and lap most of the field, or you can use a stock Gr.4 and still have a lot of fun. For me it rained hard for a couple of laps and then slowly dried out, just pitted on lap 4 for IM and fuel and ran a bit of map 3 to make it on fuel.

A fun, but quickly completed week. For my cars this week I opted for a selection of 'Iconic' (see what I did there? ;)) Classics!

Sunday Cup: 1965 British Leyland Mini Cooper - Mild Tune, CM Tyres. Absolute legend car, especially here in the UK. Handles beautifully, even on CM's. Easy Win
American FR Challenge: 1970 Plymouth Superbird - Mild Tune, SS Tyres. THE Aero NASCAR. What better car to hit the oval? Fun race.
Porsche Cup: 1981 Porsche Turbo (935 Homage) - Full Race build, SS Tyres. Handles great (once the suspension was firmed up and the diff braking sensitivity increased). Another fun race.
Ioniq One-Make: 2025 Hyundai Ionic 6 N - Weight Reductions 1-4, Race brakes, SS Tyres. Handles better than expected. Build was well over-spec'd for this race.
World Touring Car 700: 1993 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti - Mid-Turbo, RM Tyres. 90's Touring Car monster. Got to end lap 4 with some fuel management, pitted for fuel and fresh RM's. Light rain started towards end of Lap 7, in P3 and 14 seconds off lead. Changing tyres would've been pointless at this stage, as the leaders didn't pit. Crossing the line to start lap 8 the downpour began! Fortunately the 4WD allowed me to maintain control and reel in the leaders quickly, winning by 25 seconds. Lucky Win!

My 'Pic of the week' is a tie once again, unable to choose between the 'bird and the Corkscrew!

This weeks events themes are 1) more corkscrew 2) Hyundai makes the ioniq, you should seriously consider a Hyundai. One wonders why it is a Korean not Japanese maker that is writing ad checks to GT7...

usually three events hits the daily minimum but today it was four

I was still in the mercedes SLR (I have a standing Sunday race and we match the F1 events as closely as we can (track, make of car of winner)) so zoomed around Japan's alternate to suzuka east

another mail it in track so mailed it in with the '15 stoopid stang

you can make me buy a car to close out an event but not take it seriously. bought racing softs

cayman clubsport 16 (hey didn't I just race a Honda here?) to get screwy

Spa I'll close out another day, that's a rain capable track make sure you have inters

Despite having a "theme" actually for the very first time, I'll leave it at a few comments and some photos. Did the races this morning, they all have been pretty easy. Used pretty much stock cars widely, ran one attempt only at each. There's been five wins, three of them cleanly, a lost bonus at Laguna Seca for shortcutting the entry of the Corkscrew and another one lost at Road Atlanta due to getting brake checked. C'est la vie !

A new set has arrived. This week, we have a one-make with the new Ioniq 6 N, two iconic American circuits, and a 700PP battle at Spa. The theme for me this week is sedans, or saloons in certain parts of the world. Everything I use in these races must have four doors. Here’s how I fared.

Race 1 - Sunday Cup @ Kyoto Miyabi
My choice here was the hateful, diesel-powered Mazda Atenza (seriously, get the Giulia V6 swap; it is much better with it). Threw on some comfort softs and hopped in. Probably the most bland four laps ever. Took the lead on lap 2 and won by 14 seconds. Next.

Race 2 - American FR Challenge 550 @ Blue Moon Bay
I picked a Plum Crazy Charger Hellcat for this one. For whatever reason, I love this color on them. On sports hards, it just exceeds the recommended PP rating. So, it should be more than enough to win. Sure enough, I won by almost 12 seconds.

Race 3 - Porsche Cup @ Laguna Seca
Chose a modified Porsche Taycan Turbo S for this one, equipped with some aero parts, three stages of weight reduction, the body rigidity increase, and sports soft tires. With some reduction in power, it can meet the 650PP requirement easily. One by one, it silently picked off every opponent. By lap 3, it was leading and, in the end, it had gapped second place by 28 seconds.

Race 4 - Ioniq 6 @ Road Atlanta
Didn’t care. Fully maxed out. Destroyed the field. On to the next one.

Race 5 - World Touring Car 700 @ Spa
I picked the Mazda Atenza again…though this time it has the Giulia V6 swap. It had been upgraded to 724 horsepower with practically every upgrade fitted, with racing mediums for a balance of grip and life. With the fuel map set to 6, I set off, short shifting and lifting and coasting to save more fuel. I would pit on lap 4 with barely any fuel left and got fresh mediums and a full tank. Sadly, that would prove absolutely stupid, as the rain would catch me out on the out lap.

Thankfully, the AI also stayed on slicks and never managed to overtake me while I struggled to get it back to the pits on slicks. I got on the correct inters and won the race comfortably. Apparently they fixed how rain works. The lightest green on the radar actually makes the track wetter now, where previously it didn’t (unless I’m crazy). It sort of threw me off after being so used to light green doing practically nothing to make the track damper. Anywho, that was a fun little race. Credit to jerome-1305 for the livery.

With that, an extra 800,000 credits is banked and I am satisfied. Take care!

I want to thank you for putting your photos in a spoiler tag. I wish other people in this thread would be as considerate as you and do the same. The amount of scrolling that is required now is absurd.
