My picks this week:
I had some challenges this week. I tried them all on hard difficulty, but ended up dialing it down for the last one.
Sainte-Croix - Citroen DS 21 Pallas '70 - I ended up taking three runs at this. On the first, I kept the car on CS tires, plus the sport-level upgrades for ~385PP. That wasn't nearly enough. Second attempt, I added some engine enhancements and stage-2 weight reduction, for ~410PP. That got me to P3, about 3 seconds behind the leader. Good enough for the first ticket, but I felt like I was within reach of a win so I went another time with the same setup. Managed a P2 this time, somehow 7 seconds back from the leader even though I was faster than previous attempt. Oh well. On to the next race.
Tokyo Expressway - Nissan Silvia K's Type S (S14) '94 - I know what to expect with these Silvia Sisters races, so I upgraded the car over 610PP -- including mid-RPM turbo and RH tires. It was more than necessary, but not by much. I got the win and the second box checked.
Dragon Trail - Mercedes-AMG SLS AMG '10 - Between the wet track and SH tires, it took quite a few failed attempts to figure out where to brake, but once I did, the gold time was well within reach. Second ticket obtained.
Kyoto - BMW VGT - I upgraded the tires to RS. That let me catch the EVs on the corners, but they just blasted away on the straights. Still, I manged a P3 for the fourth check mark.
Fuji - Mazda 787B '91 - This one took three tries, too. On the first, I tried a no-stop on RM tires, with FM2 and heavy short-shifting to get the fuel to last. No rain. Finished P11. Next try, 5RS-5RS, no fuel saving. Again, no rain. P9. Dropped the difficulty to 'normal' and tried again. I started on RS tires again, but this time there was rain. I switched to W tires when it hit the track on lap 4, and stayed on them to the end. Easy win, and the final ticket obtained. It gave me 500,000 credits.
