The pylon mission totally killed me (don't have the nerves for this), so I decided to do only three events this week.

#1 Started on normal difficulty at Lago Maggiore with my Azenta @ 380pp, but that was too easy, had a leap of 8s at the end:

#2 So I switched to hard at Blue Moon Bay, thinking that race would be a no-brainer. I was wrong. Got 6th on first attempt in the Mono @ 600pp, however this car is notably slower than most of my other vehicles at this PP. In normal difficulty getting 1st was no issue:

#3 Unlike many others here, I really like VGT cars and races. 850pp is perfect for any version of the LM55 which easily outclasses the rest of the field - and looks awesome:

I attempted all races this with stock cars under the recommended PP.

Lago was too easy so I chose a car over 140PP below and turned off ABS

I think this is the closest win I've ever had in GT7. I won by 0.005. 😀

Blue Moon Bay I used the suggested vehicle. Only way to win that was if the Alfa got stuck in traffic. 50 attempts later I finally got past him. Felt good haha

Tokyo was also a challenge in the Aston Martin DP-100 VGT. At 150PP below the 850PP cap this is the most impressive VGT car imo.

Road Atlanta I ran out of time trying to find a stock car that could win. 😔

That pylon mission was much harder than I expected. At first I told myself there's more than 200 cones so if I miss a few I can make it up. I was wrong. There's exactly 200. It took me longer to do this than all of the rest of races this week :D

Hey guys, before the next patch of WCs goes online I wanted to post about what I did the past days. As already mentioned last Saturday I spent a lot of time at Tokyo trying different VGTs there. I think I can say I know the track a little bit better now.

Among the cars I used there were a couple of the usual suspects of course but as well candidates I had hardly ever driven before or even forgotten they exist. It's been ten cars in total, they all sat at 849 something PP, and there's been a wide spread of driving experiences : The great ones we always hope for with some pleasant surprises like the McLaren or the Genesis, but unexpected disappointments as well like the Skoda or the Chaparral that I never got to grips with.
Maybe they just didn't fit my style, who knows ...

I was doing 3 - 5 attempts with each car on average plus some early exits now and then ( for crap driving on my side ) until I was happy with the run and it's been a clean one. And now, here's the results :

That's some dedication right there! Well done.
I tried about 5 different cars first before going back to the Aston Martin DP-100 VGT. I'm beginning think pd made an error giving it a PP under 700. I feel like it should be an 850PP car.

You can get the Skoda to PRECISELY 850.00pp ;)
Any clue on tomorrow's races?

You may be right. There must be a reason why the DP-100 was one of the most popular grind cars for the Tokyo 600 ...

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Shelby Comin’ Round the Mountain

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges goes live this Friday, May 29, when your console clock ticks past midnight. Five events, seven days to clear them, and the usual run of bonus tickets for anyone who works down the list...

Toyota FT-1 VGT - I basically treat this like a hybrid F1 car, just bearing in mind that it has Gr.3 level downforce. Energy management is easier, as the car recovers energy faster than its Lexus counterpart.

Just lift and coast then go all-out after the out lap.

Best of all, it blends well among the Gr.3 crowd. No one suspects a thing. 😈

And may I add, it drives MUCH BETTER without ABS.

Interesting enough week. Jimny Cup is easy in the Sierra JC completely stock, just have to maximise your speed on the uphill bits. Sunday Cup also isn't hard given I won with a part tuned 530 PP Escort RS Cosworth, not the best track but the slower cars made it ok. Time trial wasn't a problem to gold even without ABS, really just have to watch the inside wheel spinning up. Ferrari Challenge can sometimes be chaotic as they'll end up in the gravel or ramming the movable barriers around the first chicane. None of that in the race I did and I had a slower field as they were no match for a stock F430. If you get a field where the two F8s end up at the front early you need something at least as fast as a 458 to do it no problem. WTC 800 is quite a fun race and I think this performance level suits the track well. Most stock GT3 cars will win no trouble but I went with a fully tuned Leichtbau on RH, won by 8 seconds pitting on lap 4. If you push the AI hard enough they'll often make an extra stop or ruin their tyres, otherwise you just have to run around 3:03 and pit once.

Cars for this week:

Yeah, I thought I would be able to do it after enough time, but I just wasn't in the mood of trying and trying... Maybe if I had a couple of weeks (or better, unlimited time) I'd do it.

I'm glad the next special event is a time trial again ;)

My choices for the weekly this week - with the theme of NA aspiration only vehicles
Screenshot_20260529-012338.webp

  1. Fully engine modified Jimmy JC on comfort mediums - may have overturned this one and made the event a bit too easy, got first place before halfway...oops
  2. Nearly fully modified Delorean S2 on sports hards - was a bit wayward from the rear at times, but an immensely fun vehicle, got first by lap 3
  3. Special event - fun combination though the first corner tripped me up a few times haha
  4. Fully tuned 250 GT berlinetta on sport mediums - I love this car, I'm just sad it doesn't get front down force which makes it a bit tricky, the car is pretty slippy though despite the rear downforce bias, di get first by the end of lap 4
  5. Max downforce custom setup F1GTR on Racing Hards - fuel map 6 no stop mercifully was easy to maintain! Was first by lap 7
Overall a stress free weekly, a nice change of pace!

Easiest choices yet (Granted one is a sort of a one-make, but still). Not looking forward to Circuit De St Croix, not a fan of anything that isn't the B layouts.

Jimny Cup: Sierra JC. Yeah I destroyed the field, but I wanted to show off my Mint 400 build.
American Sunday 600: Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth. Just an excuse to show this again (Also, I'm reminded I NEED a setup)
Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Ferrari 296 GTB. The 296 Challenge Build returns for this power track. Brakes work better then I recall...
World Touring Car 800: BMW Mclaren F1 GTR. OP but didn't care because not a fan so like Han Solo, I'm here for the money.
Special Event: Abit more challenging then I expected (which was...challenging enough I imagined) but I achieved.
