Ohhh, 600PP road cars at the Nordschleife. About as close to my domain as it gets. Sure, this doesn't hold a candle to @RCKakashi14's sneaky Espace (I have a pretty good hunch of what has been done but worry not, I won't spill it) but for a straightforward build I dare to say this is quick. Hampered here a bit by the eternal CRB hunt and a slightly unfavourable wind, this exact same car lapped four seconds faster in an all out time trial run earlier this week.

The end result bug that appeared some time ago also still persists. I really doubt the SU7 took 15 seconds off my lead on the ~20 second final sector, in reality probably lost a few more crawling through the chicane.

Pretty good week. FF Challenge is quite easy, sadly already used every car I could possibly think of so I went back to the Integra. FR Challenge is much the same, stock Mark II Tourer V on CS made it easy, feel as if those tyres have more grip than they should. Ferrari Challenge is tricky if you want to use a slower car, or if you fix whatever you're using to have the correct weight. I was running 1:34s in the F50 and got into the lead half way around the final lap. As long as the 812 starts near the back it makes things a lot easier. One-make was stupidly easy using a stock R500 that I've not driven before. The AI is really bad on the brakes and they take some weird lines so I wonder if this is possible with the Suzuki swap. WTC 800 used to be hard but it seems the AI starts off a lot slower now. Later in the race they got down to some 2:01 laps chasing me although they still mess their strategy up and pit on lap 9 for almost no fuel. Most ~750 PP tuned road cars will work, swapped stuff is even easier because you might be able to not pit.

Welcome to a new week of challenges, where we get a nice dose of Britain for the special race, tour Deep Forest in Ferraris, and go too hot into Skyline and possibly die. Let’s try to—well, not die and get our 800,000 credits.

Race 1 - Japan FF Challenge 450 @ Sardegna C
For the opening race, I used a bone-stock Mitsubishi FTO, one of my favorite FF cars of all-time. There was nothing particularly noteworthy about the race or the opponents. Overtook the leader on lap 2 and won the race easily: just over 10 seconds.

Race 2 - Japan FR Challenge 450 @ Kyoto Yamagiwa
I initially chose a tuned Suzuki Cappuccino on its standard three-cylinder engine. Then I got humbled because of one jackrabbit in particular that, once they got to the front, absolutely flew away: J. Imai and their heavily-tuned gold S14 Silvia. So, I had to choose a different car: a tuned Nissan 370Z (Fairlady Z34). I then got a grid without Imai on it at all. What the hell…easy win at that point.

Race 3 - Ferrari Circuit Challenge @ Deep Forest
I used a heavily-upgraded Testarossa for this event, but used sports soft tires. So, it had 726 horsepower. However, with the physics changes making wheelspin significantly less pronounced, the car was only a handful when cornering, where its rear weight bias naturally led to quite a bit of liftoff oversteer. I still won by 35 seconds, even despite out-braking myself twice going into the final hairpin like a dolt. Livery credit to snybigoud71.

Race 4 - Caterham One-Make @ Brands Hatch
You only have one choice for this one: the new-to-Gran Turismo Caterham Seven Superlight R500. I went into the race with one that was completely stock. It was an absolute joy to drive. For much of the race, I was sideways, but smiling. The Caterham has a tendency to powerslide, but it’s very much controllable. I found it too much fun. The R500 is my favorite of the new cars by a mile. I won the race by 19 seconds.

Race 5 - World Touring Car 800 @ Bathurst
Who thought an LMDh machine at Bathurst was a match made in heaven? I did! I hopped into one of my BMW M Hybrid V8s, gave it some extra rear downforce and front ballast, threw this year’s special #20 Le Mans livery on it, and took to the Mountain. It was a very easy race for me…as long as I kept it out of the walls. Easier said than done at a place like Bathurst. I caught the leading BMW M6 by lap 4, getting the final overtaking move done at The Chase. The car lasts the entire race on hard slicks and FM1 without stopping once. Margin of victory was nearly a minute and a half. Livery credit to ImbissBrunto.

A very fun selection of races this week. All completed on hard difficulty at the first attempt (with some extra goes just for fun).

Japanese FF Challenge 450: Civic SiR '93 - Stock with aero for PP taming, CS tyres. Easy win.
Japanese FR Challenge 450: RX-7 GT-X '90 - Stock with aero and 10kg of ballast for PP taming, CS tyres. Easy win.
Ferrari Challenge: 330 P4 '67 - Stock - RH Tyres. At 700PP there could only be one choice and she was built for racing! Showed the younger generations how it's done.
Caterham One Make: Stock SH tyres - Easy win, 420R Race Spec (https://caterhamcars.com/en/models/the-range/420r-race-package) on SS tyres, again easy win, 310R Race Spec on SS tyres (https://caterhamcars.com/en/motorsport/championships/310r-championship), really enjoyable race, won but only just!! 310R was by far my favourite spec for this race, the braking performance and grip of the SS tyres, was well balanced against the straight line pace of the 'full fat' R500's at the front of the pack.
I'll definitely be running this race many more times this week, perhaps investing in a fleet of Caterhams to create my own custom series. 😁
WTC800: BMW McLaren F1 GTR - Stock with RM tyres. I finally acquired this absolute Legend only this week. After a quick livery change (who didn't love a splash of Davidoff Cool Water back in the 90's?!? 😂) she had to be put to good use. Able to complete the 10 laps without stopping (or management), she made easy work of this challenge with Zero stress.

For my 'Pic of the Week' I couldn't choose between 3 generations of 12 cylinder Ferrari, and the Legendary F1 GTR, so here they both are...

Is there a way to change/increase the downforce on the Caterham? Since we can't put a wing on it.

Yes. If you don’t apply the widebody upgrade, both the front and rear can have a small amount of downforce with the Type B front and Type B rear options (100 points max at each end).

The widebody will only give you the option for rear downforce.

Brilliant. Thanks. I'd already done the Widebody. Now I just need Type B front and rear.

Hmm. I don't have any Type B options. Does that mean I have to buy a new one to make those changes? Can I select Type B rear and then Widebody it?

Yes, you will need a new Caterham.

No, the Type B upgrade not carry over if you widen the car afterward.

My choices for this week (as always, hard AI, matching tyres up to the highest grade AI use, and PSVR2 driving) are as follows;

Theme: Light-footed Lightweights (cars that are below 1000kg even in stock form)
  1. Very lightly modified Suzuki Swift 2017 on Comfort Soft tyres - this one was actually easier than I initially expected thankfully, got first before the final lap begun fairly convincingly! Fun vehicle to drive too.
  2. Lightly modified w/Supercharger 2015 Mx-5 with full down force kit on Comfort Medium tyres - this one was far more stable than it used to be and wasAN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE blasting through Yamagiwa, got first after the chicane on lap 2.
  3. Fully modified 250 GT Berlinetta '61 on Sport Medium tyres - was a bit of a handful, but not of the oversteery kind, it often understeered due to zero front downforce and terrible brakes even when upgraded, but still managed to clinch the victory...with the 812 superfast real close behind
  4. Fully engine modified with supercharger Caterham R500 '08 on Sport Hard Tyres - I wish I made some slight changes, but otherwise was a very pleasant vehicle one again to drive - especially with the new physics! Got first by about lap 4 and had a fun few hotlaps on the end.
  5. Gr2 NSX swapped X2014 Junior on Racing Hard tyres - hoomboy, this one worked better than I expected, even if it was very sketchy going UP the hill, it eagerly barreled down rather explosively like a reckless Pomeranian with no regard for it's occupant driver, got first by lap 6 no stop with the tyres nearly half cooked by the end

Japanese FR Challenge 450: Toyota Chaser Tourer V. Quite abit of fun to throw around.
Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Ferrari F40. Brought the GTE build out and it might just be altering with my 296 Challenge Build for funsies
World Touring Car 800: BMW Mclaren F1 GTR. Back to your regularly scheduled curb stomping (Now with less tire ware and more fuel saving)
Special Event: Debuting my Superlight R600 Build and it was very overpowered..but fun.

Did anyone raced against J.mai ( if I remember well) Sylvia at 450 FR race ?
Is disqasting fast and way out of suggested pp by far.
Imagine that clocked second lap at 1.56 !!!! the first time i try it , don't know even 550pp are enough for him but didn't meet him again .

Thread 'The overpowered gold S14 of J Imai (Japanese FR 450) with estimated power!'

As I'm on holiday I finally had the time to explore something I've been curious about for a while now.

What are the rival cars actually running?

Where better to start than the most unbalanced b*stard of them all, J Imai and his gold Silvia.

Watching it in a replay a few things are obviously fitted besides the bodykit.
1) Racing exhaust.
2) Fully Customisable Suspension, the rear camber is beyond -3.
3) High RPM turbo.
4) Engine work resulting in a rev limit just under 8'000 rpm.
5) Anti Lag

The first three are all easy to replicate and give you a decently quick Silvia, but his is still...
 
Mixed emotions for this week only because of the update but oh well.
Japanese FF was in my Mazda Demio which I had to downgrade to get it under the suggested. It used to be fine but with the update. Good race though and beat Valerio by about 4 seconds.
Japanese FR in my Mrk II taxi with minor mods(body). Won by a handful.
Ferrari race where again I had to downgrade my usual car (430 Scud) but it was still good. Easy win on SS by 10 seconds.
Caterham race was fun. Went out in my widebody with luggage. lol It was too much for the AI so I'll reattempt with a bone stock and my "Keiterham" before this race disappears.
WTC800 was bad. I've won this handily before with the 992 (livery by @Imbissbrunto ) but today ,not even close. 3rd and a gap of 20 seconds to first. I probably won't reattempt since I've won it previousy.
Overall like everyone's observations,street cars are way better and more fun now, pure race cars,eh but I haven't driven the others.

Hey everyone, I gladly join in, let me tell how I tackled the new challenges. This has been a really enjoyable batch and they all came quite easy - didn't really expect this at least for the high class races.
I admit I always ran a couple of kilometers on track first to find braking points and such, after that it's been one attempt at each race. And I don't conceal I quit instantly when I saw J. Imai in his golden Silvia starting from P3 - I know he doesn't like coffee so there's been no sense in trying to follow him with my track service Carry. :lol:
Did the first two races in trusty cars that I've successfully used many times now, my Takata Dome N-ONE and my Coffee-To-Go Carry, the other three events were new grounds all around. There's been the fun Caterham of course and two vehicles that were waiting unused in my garage for months now, an FXX K and an XJR-9 swapped XJ220. Both didn't disappoint, and even without a proper Bathurst setup the Jag actually seems to be a great car for WTC 800 events.

This race is extremely Hard 😬
I don't have win in this difficulty so I redo this !
The Nismo 400R flying on the track 🫪 and the traffic on the 2 last laps ignore Blue Flag 😤😡 so I push them 😅
Tips : move differential to 50/50 for more grip !

If you have the Power Pack, have you test it ? It's a very good challenge !
Bonus : Best Lap Replay

All races was Golden on Hard difficulties, TC1 or 0, ABS default, PS5 with gamepad.
