GTA Forum: Requests and Discussion

I know, if there are too many they will die because people will get bored oing through all of them.
 
Exactly my point. Just put similar information in the one thread, maybe one post after the other. Then possibly link to the post, instead of the thread, when you link to the topics in your Official GTA Thread.

Or, here's an idea. (Spuds has probably said this before via PM or in here, but I can't be bothered checking) I'm doing this for my Record Book. Post a contents, rules and explanation of the thread in the first post. In the following posts, post the Vehicle Info, Weapons info, etc. Call it the "GTP Strategy Guide to San Andreas".

Maybe that would be better, and less space-consuming on the Forum?

I think he's talking about haveing a thread with a vehicle list where any questions etc. about cars could be asked.

And i also i agree that there souldnt be to many threads.
Im thinking just a General Discussion, Vehicles, Locations and gangs, Then possibly a stunt one but this would probably be discused in the recored book and 100% threads which im leaving in you guys capable hands.
If theres anymore threads you can think of that would be valuable just tell me.
 
Personally, I think that's too many threads still. I think you should use my idea. It's easily located, they will all be in the same place, and you have control over them yourself. Instead of spreading these out all over the GTA Forum, you could have them in one thread. I personally think that's a MUCH better idea.

Thats alrite i guess but the actual posts will be quite messed up with people qouting from like 3 pages back about relevent information to them. i.e if the immidiate disscusion is about the "farm in the country" and someone wants to ask a question or reply to someones comments about the "winged dodo" it would start to get quite messy, with posts overlapping posts, there would be no kind of flow to it. But on the other hand how often do people stay on topic anyway?. Maybe i could maybe just combine 2 topics into one in the way that you sudjested and instread of 4 threads i would just have two.
 
I agree with R32GTST/M, there will be a huge number of posts. The only thing people will be talking about is SA. But I also believe that many people will start new threads to talk about anything they find in SA. I think there will be a ton of new threads, and we can't stop them from forming.

We need a proper Moderator that actually comes here.

I agree that posts will overlap, but I'm happy to answer alot of the questions. Like I said in another thread, I'll be here just as much, so I can help out alot if you wish.

2 threads would be good. What would you divide them into, though?
 
I think Vehicles is an important thread. General discussion is an important thread. Mission help is an important thread (though it would need warnings saying that spoilers are very likely). Gangs, I think that isn't very important (11 of them -- that would very easily be covered in general discussion for example). Location, I think this would also be redundant, it could easily be covered in General.

So there, IMO 3 threads, it's not many. As R32GTST\M said, if there was just one, posts would be too cluttered. Your thoughts on this system...
 
Yeah. I agree 100% with Blake. Mission Help, Vehicles and General Discussion.

3 threads to me is the limit. We will already have the 100% list, so I don't see need for any other help threads.

I won't be asking anything, I know that. I like to solve all problems on my own. I'll help other people, though, if they need it. I doubt I will be able to provide much help for a while regarding Missions, though. I won't start the Missions for a while if they don't block off access to each area in San Andreas (not a spoiler, don't go crazy), but if they do, I sure as hell will open up the areas. If that's the case, I will be able to provide. It all depends on that one feature...
 
Cheers guys!. I think Blakes sorted it. We'll have the Official GTA:SA discussion thread, this will inclue gangs, locations and the aforementioned general disscusion.
Then we'll have the Vehicles thread, thats seems to be all sorted now, so that can be left to Blake.
Jimmy's got the 100% thread sorted!. And that just leaves the Official mission help thread, which im sure we'll all contribute to at some stage.

Thats o.k cause these threads won't be started till after the games been out for a while and we've played then through a bit, maybe December sometime, i just hope no one decides to start them before us.

Yeah we might have to PM a moderator to come down here to clean things up every now and again, did'nt they say to you Jim that they were sweet to come down here in future to help us out?
 
Yeah they did. But it would get irritating for them for me asking the all the time to delete or lock a thread, etc. I'm not going to ask them to do that. But if we had a Moderator that came here at least every now and then, these things could happen. That's what I mean.

Noone's started my Record Book, and if anyone does, I'm sure noone will post in it out of respect. I'm sure the same thing would happen for you. Plus, we are all a close-knit bunch, and everyone knows who's doing what. So don't worry about it. ;)
 
I wonder if we could choose a mod? Not a fully authorised mod, just someone that can clean up the threads and keep an eye one everything but with out authority over everyone. Really just a normal member, that can clean up the threads. I, and most people around here would vote for Jimmy to do that but thats if its even possible. Something to look into?
 
It could be. They are all "Super Moderators", where as a "Moderator" is usually confined to one Forum or Sub-Forum. It could be possible that way. Or an honour system for that Moderator, where they only use their powers in the one Forum.

I think it's doable.
 
Thanks for the votes, but I think it would be up to Jordan. I don't know if he would let this happen, but I certainly would like it.

He's been saying that for yonks and he'll keep on saying that. Plus even if we could I think Jimmy is too much of a "Junior" member for Jordan to be able to trust him. I think Famine would be the only one here who Jordan could trust (except Spuds but he has said he wouldn't want to do it).

It would get irritating for them. That's what I mean. They can lie through their teeth saying that they are happy to do it, when I know they will most likely get annoyed. I don't want to be that annoying prick from the GTA Forums who reports everything.
 
The mods have the responsibility to do that, it's their job. Jordan wouldn't have mods if there was no need for them. He chooses them because he believes they have the maturity to handle that, it's not your responsibility to care that they get annoyed, I mean do you decide not to buy anything at a grocery store because you think the clerk might be irratated by pricing all 80 items in your trolley?
 
Lol. Nice one. It would be nice, though, you have to admit. To have someone to keep things regularly in check. Even just a Moderator, not a Super Moderator. You must admit it would at least be nice.

At another forum. I actually got the job from someone else at GTP. :rolleyes: I took over his posistion after he was an asshat. I was appointed the posistion from someone else at GTP! 👍
 
Well i guess you could put it to Jordan or something, then he could decide whether you couyld handle it or not. As long as you had our best intersets behind your decisions. And you would'nt mind us PMing you.

I think, like a few people have said, that Famine would probably the most appropriate. I might give Jordan a PM, see what he thinks. If he decides no, then I won't ask again. If he decides yes, then...well...we can have a poll or Jordan can choose.
