GTA Forum: Requests and Discussion

I'm not too fussed, I mean there isn't too much that needs to be done with this forum, only a nip and tuck. I really don't think it's nessasary. I bet Jordan will say to use the 'report' button if we need anything. It's what he's said here a few times.
 
Not if everything goes as we planned, a few more people know about it now so I think it should all go smoothly.
 
But it won't. We will get people that were either just browsing the New Details About GTA:SA thread, or just didn't come here until they got the game (I know a couple). There will also be people that just sign up for this Sub-Forum (more than you would think), and not knowing about how GTP works, will become a slight pest until they learn.

Anyway, I just think we need to leave it, and let Jordan see what he thinks.

Jordan - If you decide "no", then that will be the last you hear of it. If you decide "yes", you can either pick the Super Moderator or Moderator (if you can do the latter), or let us hold a Poll.

Your choice. Look forward to your reply.
 
I read through this thread and I honestly don't know why you are hell bent on getting a moderator for this sub forum Jimmy-- I don't see there being a problem here--everyone that comes here seems to stay behaved so there really isn't the problems associated with other forums here-- and like Jordan said, there is always the report button if anyone causes a problem.

If (and only if) there are problems and the report feature is not producing adequate corrections, should this even be considered.

And as far as the reference to me not wanting to be a moderator--- If asked I would probably do it, but I'm not actively pursuing that endevour-- I just don't think there is a need for it.

Jordan more than likely doesnt visit this forum. I'll send him a PM and ask him about a moderator for it, though.

Exactly, I agree almost completely. One thing that will happen though is some new people may not be so well behaved, but that's part of a forum. I think this moderator thing is going too far.

I don't even think we'll HAVE to use it very often, I know I've only ever used it once in my time at GTP. The moderators read this and should change anything that needs to be changed, there should be no problems.

I've had to use the Report button quite a lot... Back in the bad days of the GT4 forum...

Things have sorted themselves out there now though!

Well, I feel things HAVE gone too far. I meant this as just a request, not being "hellbent on getting a Moderator". I didn't mean to sound like I desperately want a Moderator, or this Forum desperately needs a Moderator. I meant it as a Request, and I only meant to put forward a few points in favour of the request.

I agree partly with what you said Spuds, you made some good points, but I'm not hell-bent on getting one. It's only a request. This has gotten out of hand. Sorry.
 
I can't see the harm in having a Moderator. There are some dedicated people in the GTA forum, and if there viewing the boards most of the day, then why not have one just in case?
 
Well I'm not going to say any more, as it seems my opinion is becoming more and more insignificant. It seems as if every question I have just gets way too out of hand, and makes it seem like I want something unnecessarily. So I just simply won't ask anything else, discuss things like this or attempt to make any improvements if this is the way it goes.
 
I agree with ya Jim!. I think its a perfectly reasonable request to have a mod come down here and chech things out every once in a while, thats there job isnt it?.
 
Exactly. It is. They can assign someone to do just that, but I can see it wearing out and going back to how it was before.
 
I dunno, with the populatity of this game and the traffic im expecting down here, it'd be stupid for them to come here less and less as the traffic gets larger and larger.
 
I think I should be made moderator. And I should be carried around the forum on a gilded throne carried by four lackies whilst scantily clad ladies strew rose petals in my path.

Well I probably wouldn't make a good one for a while with me avoiding spoilers I could only moderate non San Andreas threads--- :lol:

"hell bent" was a little strong-- my point we are discussing a solution for problem that doesn't exist....that is all-- no malice was intended (once again)... :cheers:

Hopefully I'll be playing in another 13 hours--- EB opens 12 hours from now. 👍
 
Now if you look at the complete garbage and spoilers that we have asked to be kept in a specific thread for a long time now, on the first page. THIS is precisely why we need a Moderator that is here regularly. I've already been spoiled 3 times now. This is aggravating.

Do you see what I mean? And the game has only just come out. Then we will get MANY a-thread on crap that could be posted in specific threads.

Really, this is what I was talking about, and the game has only JUST come out.

Ugh, people.
 
On GTP almost 12 hours a day. I could moderate this forum from like 8 to 4 in the morning. Although you'd probably have to be friends with Jordan or be over 18, I'll just help the forum instead of moderating it. 👍
 
Well that's what I've been doing: helping. I'm probably on here 4 or 5 times a day, but this is not any sort of request to become Moderator.

It's just the amount of crap that has appeared here in the matter of 15 minutes is just astonishing. The trusty DELETE button is needed, but sadly this will keep happening.

I'm going to be very scarce for a while now people--I don't want to be reading any spoilers on accident--- so I won't be looking at the main page (that list threads) for a while-- I will be bookmarking my threads (Superjump and Recordbook threads) and keeping those up but you won't see me elsewhere for a while---

Exactly. I would just love to hit Delete on some of those threads. I can't believe 5 threads by the one person in the space of about 15-20 minutes.

We DO need a Moderator, and someone that will be able to cope with all of this, as it won't stop.
