Well I bought it when I first went online. Then it said it couldn't save. I thought okay, that's crap, I'm going to lose my money and not have a car if I back out I'm thinking. Then I freeze on a load screen after a bit, log out of PSN, log back in again. Got back into a free roam game, go to my garage and find a Stinger GT and my bank balance as it was before I bought it 902k. So, I drive around in this freeroam and then the game saves. So I don't know. Now I'm getting the game can't save message again, so we'll see.
 
Are there solo missions on GTA5 Online?

I'm not much for online play and the story was very short,so I was hoping maybe I could do solo missions online.

Also on the crew thing,can you assign a player like you did in the heists during the game?

Heists are not available yet, so can't say for sure about the latter. And there are plenty of missions that can be done solo. Look for missions that say 1-x players.

You can do some missions solo, but it's not recommended.

I have to sometimes because no-one accepts my invites and I don't want to do it with randoms that chuck grenades at my car.

EDIT: I think there's a new Martin mission called Lines Of Coke that hasn't been listed on the link I posted a couple times. I've never seen it before. Can't really know for sure if it'll work though with the servers being down.

Last time I was online I only seen events with 2-x players.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong as to why I don't see where there is a 1 person option. Is there a step I have top go through to get the solo missions?

I did the first few that introduces you to online,but after that I am confused as to where the solo missions are.

You can do races solo. You can also get solo missions sent to you by contacts earlier on in the game, then once you're able to phone contacts you can request missions from them. Gerald and Simeon should send you missions first, then later on Martin, Ron and Trevor.

I'll continue to try and figure this out. Next time I'm on I'll look into Gerald and Simeon and see if they have any missions for me.
 
And my character disappeared, Now it wants me to make a new one.. SC says my stats are still there...

Be warned the payout is rubbish from missions now. Better to just rob stores for money than do a Simeon mission. But do races to rank up, then you'll get contacted by Martin and Ron, then you'll get better paying missions. Oh and Lester, I forgot about him.

Don't make a new character and just wait it out.

EDIT: And another new mission from Martin has popped up. Ballas Shipment Grab is another one I've not heard of. Are R* adding in new missions to justify their halving the payouts on the old ones to keep content fresh? This might also explain why cloud servers are down.

Awesome man. now I know why I can't get the missions.

I didn't realize I had to rank up to get a certain mission.

So I'll do some solo racing here in a few and rank up.

I'm a longtime gamer,but now that I'm older some of these newer games confuse the crap out of me.I'm glad there are forums like these to ask questions. lol
 
I think R* are adding new missions, I've had two new Martin missions appear. I enter them and they fail instantly. They have no information on the invite either. But I think this is positive news. It could explain the cloud issues "could" being the operative word. I'm being optimistic because new content is always good.

I'm able to play online but can't join jobs. :( Hopefully a PS3 reboot fixes it.

And cloud servers are down for me...AGAIN. :irked:

No, I can't do jobs, join jobs, cloud servers are down have been for a while, and I have saved twice in the past couple hours.

Until things get sorted out, you will just have to wait because a PS3 reboot will fix nothing.

You're right. It made things worse actually, by getting the cloud server message.
 
Just had a phonecall from Ron, and it saved not long after I robbed an armored truck. So, things might be back to normal.

EDIT: Guess I spoke too soon.
 
It's saying cloud servers are unavailable right now.

I was hoping to get some solo racing in to get my rank up too.

I don't really want to risk not having my progress saved.

Regarding people in online races what I don't get it why people can't just drive past you, they decide they need to hit you or spin you out seemingly not realising doing so will take longer than just driving past me cleanly. Had that last night, I was in first with second just behind me and everyone else pretty far back. We could have had a clean battle to the end to see who won but instead he pits me, spins himself out in the process and neither of us win or come second.

I find this a problem with races with catch up on. It almost becomes a thing of luck when catchup is on because it works for EVERYONE that is below first place, this is where a little ramming is needed to secure position (for a bit lol). I've had a bunch of really clean races, those one usually turn into the GTA style races later on, to get aggression out :lol:.

Am I the only who keeps having problem online? When I want to "join friends", 9/10 it gives me an error. When I "join crem members" the same thing. Same with joining random races/missions, I have to be very lucky when I finally manage to do one. I'm level 15 now, but 99% of my RP is just by robbing stores, doing races/missions on my own ... :guilty:

I find that you can only join rooms with friends or crew WHEN they aren't doing anything (jobs, robbing etc.). If you do it'll give you unable to join message. Also, people could be a 'bad sport', you can't join them if you're a 'good sport'. There are way too many factors, it's better to plan ahead and make sure no ones doing anything.

I was in a room with GTP_APEX and 2 other guys from here (sorry can't remember there name), we were having a bunch of fun. I got an invite from a friend to do a mission - he's new so I try to help - when it was done, It wouldn't let me find the GTPL room again but instead put me in a friends room. This make me believe your friends list has more priority, my advice add GTPL people to your friends list.

One of the many reasons why I really hate Catchup.

On a side note I've noticed changes of names for some missions. Quarry Quarry popped up as Quarry Steal and Water the Vineyard popped up as Vineyard Kill. They don't sound like new missions, but the same missions by a different name.

Come on R* hurry up and finish your "tweaks" so I can play missions.
 
Well, Rockstar's site lists all the servers being up. So, it would be an issue on their end. I suspect this might have something to do with the stimulus package, plus, I heard they were going to implement a "penalty box" of sorts for all those who used the exploits. But yeah, I sure hope the servers are restored soon. Weekends aren't a good time for them to go down.

And NOW I'm stuck on a loading screen. Awesome. I also went to get a hair cut, and upon sitting down, the game generated two of my character: one with the original hair cut and one with the new haircut.
 
Well this stinks.

Just back out of online and just went back in. now it wants me to create a new character.

I guess I'll just have to wait a long while it seems before I can do anything online.
 
Just checked and my character is still there. Guess i'm shutting off the PS3 until the servers underp themselves.
