If I have a daily objective that requires me to "Kill 10 players," will it know the difference between ten different players and the same player ten times? :sly:

Also, I'm given to understand that, on Hard difficulty, additional players on a mission can increase payout--is there a set multiplier at work here or is it on a case-by-case basis? Anyone (PS3) feel like hanging out while I grind Pier Pressure? :p

The ten players can be the same person. No need for different people.

As for the payout increase, some friends of minr use to play Rooftop Rumblr and wait the 15 minutes for max payout. God knows why we did, but anyhow, the payout with two people was $24,500. With three people it went up to $27,500. The payouts may not be exact but for Rooftop Rumble, it appears to be around a $3,000 increase. No idea if this caries over to other missions or not.

Good info all around.

I learned something else; I'm not cut out for PVP.

I managed to find a decent roost and pick off a couple players a couple times before they got out of range, then (and this is the game's fault) I went over to the edge of the building to parachute off but fell through an invisible hole in the corner of the building's roof and plummeted to my death, unable to open my chute.

My only salvation was accepting a mission invite (Rich Men In Richman) and recruiting the rank 12 host to stand by as I went grinding Pier Pressure, and convinced them to let me kill them the remaining times needed in exchange for the money I helped them earn.

:p

Sounds like that triangular building

Anybody got any speculation on what the 7 hour maintainence is about? Video editor, maybe? Only seen the notice in game, not seeing anything on R* site.

PS4 btw.

I've heard rumors about it being anything from a serious server upgrade to a money wipe.

I sure hope they don't make AI any smarter. :P

"I think there's a sniper out there, let me stick my head out to check."

Is that from a specific Call of Duty game or did you just make it up? I rememeber a scene from Call of Duty: Big Red One where a guy's like "Get doen, there's a sniper on that ledge. I'll try and find him. *POW* I think I got 'em!" And then he takes a shot to the head and dies. It was hysterical at the time, your post just reminded me of it.

Anyhow, when is the maintnence occuring? Now, or sometime tonight?

11pm EST I believe I read.

Haven't played any of them. It was a hypothetical AI quote referring to the way I handle Pier Pressure on GTA--stand on top of my Sandking SWB just in front of the reservoir on the airport side of the pier to dispatch 7 or 8 enemies (there are 11 total) and driving around to the end of the parking lot on the other side to finish them off before grabbing the meth.

If the maintenance ends on Tuesday and knowing that Rockstar usually release DLC updates monthly and on Tuesdays mostly, maybe it's a maintenance / DLC update. Honestly it's probably not that because one I don't remember Rockstar releasing any DLC update after maintenance much like how PD releases their updates on GT6 a lot of the time, two, PSN is also scheduled for maintenance today.

But remember, don't get your hopes up. We don't even know what the maintenance is about yet.

How does the Vapid Guardian compare to the Sandking? It appears to have more ground clearance (does it?) but is there any difference in handling/acceleration/speed?

Edit: How easily can one climb to its roof?

I'd say it has a slight power advantage over the Sandking, but it's taller and narrower so it tips over a lot.

The Sandking is cheaper, but let's see what can they do.

Sandking has a 2 door or 4 door variants, but the Guardian has 6 spaces, with 2 on the bed.

The Sandking has better clearance. I've never ran over anything with the Guardian (that's not a Grotti wedge).

The acceleration is MUCH better on the Guardian. These trucks can climb some steep walls. I forget if the Guardian is all or rear wheel drive.

The Guardian may have better handling on even surfaces, but it suffers from nasty snap oversteer like the Infernus. This is particularly noticeable when offroading. You can bring a Guardian to an off road race. The Sandking's handling is, while less sharp, much more bearable.

Their speed will end up being 100 mph-ish, so that's no concern, while the Guardian will reach it faster.

The Sandking, along being findable, has a lot more customization options. The Guardian's unique parts is the chrome pipes, and can be slammed real low with Race suspension.

My opinion: if you haven't yet, get an Insurgent instead. Other non armored considerations is the Dubsta 6x6.

If I haven't done any convincing, you can always do an offroad race and see which one you'd prefer.

The one thing a Guardian can do that the Sandking can't is have an occupant stand in back without falling... but so can a Duneloader.

If you're looking for an ultimate off road vehicle, I highly recommend the Dubsta 6X6. It doesn't quite have the approach and departure angles of the Sandking, but it has astonishing traction and will go nearly anywhere.

Hmm. I still have a few fireworks left over. I'll save them for a special occasion, should one happen to arise between now and the next time we can purchase them.

Legit question. I have GTA 5 for ps3, but want to get it for PC. Which version should I get? (Steam) (PC Discs) or (PC Download - thru R*)?

Thank you.

If you have good internet speed and free time then just get the digital version from either R* or Steam. If you get it on Steam it's no different from any other version besides the fact you can have the Steam overlay while playing it (though you could add the R* downloaded version to your Steam library then you can have the overlay anyway).

Regarding the discs I think 7 is too much and in the event one of them gets scratched/ruined and you want to re-install the game. It sounds like one big headache, but that's just me.

I sold my Sandking XL and my Guardian when i got the Heavy Insurgent.

My offroad selection is
Insurgent (beast)
Bifta (fast and manoeuvrable)
Sanchez (It's a sanchez!!)

For being 2wd, the Brawler does real well. I tried it in a race a couple nights ago that goes up a very steep section of Mt Chiliad. My buddy said only Sandkings and Insurgents can make it through this particular section. The Brawler handled it no problem, and made it up the first try. Of course it was a ears pulled back, hammer down situation with lots of tire spin, but it kept moving the whole time.

It also seems to maintain better speed on dirt/sand roads than any other vehicle. You don't hear the engine rpms drop as much, I think.
