Nine times out of ten, when I'm in a public lobby, I'm in there because I'm giving back-up to a friend or friend of friend who was ganged up on. The heavy suit is put on right away because I'm only in that lobby to fight.

Does the heavy suit even do anything in free roam? I was under the impression that it only helped in heists, because it will slow you down in heists but it doesn't in free roam.

In heists, you get a little bit of an armor bonus. In free roam, you don't get that ability, but it looks awesome.

It gives a slight increase in damage protection over regular outfits. It's nothing like the increase in heists, but it is a little better than other outfits in free roam.

Can i come and say it's not a little bit, but more like: you get an extra lifebar of armor?

Also: add a bulletproof helmet, and you get even more so that you can resist one explosion. And no: I haven't experimented.

I didn't know how powerful the vest is. All the more reason for R* to make custom outfits the default option in heists because their outfits are garbage.

Not exactly.

It increases you body armor by 50% which gives a maximum of 403 at level 100, but it also decreases the amount of damage caused by weapons slightly (like 3% or something like that).

All this talk about bullet proof vests, combat gear and outfits backed by statistics and other baloney, while I'm here tearing up the streets of LS in my V12.

Am I the only one that doesn't really fight in this game? I haven't shot a gun in the game in over two months.

Pretty much anyone who isn't from Rockstar, or hasn't cracked open the game files (No, an Excel document of stuff you don't understand doesn't count) isn't really a credible source.

And now for the bad news.

The Freemode Events update will be the first to come to PS4, Xbox One, and PC only. We managed to pack in two years’ worth of free updates onto the older platforms, but after the release of Heists we started to run into some very real memory constraints. We knew moving forward that the game’s online performance could be in jeopardy if we continued to pile in new content. But after some creative programming, we were able to deliver the two-part Ill-Gotten Gains update.

Moving forward, we knew that we could not make any more meaningful updates without putting the stability of the entire game at risk. By focusing on the opportunity with these newer platforms, it will allow us to do some exciting stuff in the future, and the Freemode Events update is just the beginning.

Also some good news. This looks exciting:

From IGN:

But going forward those restrictions no longer exists, with the power of PS4, Xbox One, and PC opening new possiblities for Online.

"After almost two years of regular free content updates delivered to those systems, we are now focused on the opportunities provided by the more powerful PS4, XB1 and PC – and we’ve got some really fun ideas on how to make the most of these more powerful machines. Bringing the Rockstar Editor to the newer consoles and the changes that come with Freemode Events are a great start and only the beginning of what we want to accomplish with GTA Online long term.

"Aside from simply allowing us to utilize more memory and pack additional assets into the game itself, the additional power will mean we can create more complex game types and deliver on some of the ideas we have that only these newer systems can allow. We are really excited for how GTA Online can continue to evolve as a platform with these new systems."

Well, it looks like there isn't much of a point playing GTA V on PS3 anymore. At least I'm never going to have to grind again. I'm probably going to buy a Brawler with some of my remaining cash at some point.

Well we knew since heists came out that there wasn't much more R* could add to the PS3/X360 versions since they were already pushing the systems enough when the game launched. Adding any more content beyond the Ill Gotten Gains DLC would probably have broken the game completely.

True.

I just hope they keep GTA IV online for a few more years. Trolling people in an Annihilator on GTA: TBoGT is hilarious. I really pissed off a bunch of people the other day. :D

Provided people still play it online I think they'll keep the servers up. I remember back in 2010 playing "Cat & Mouse" with my friends on Party Mode. The "Mice" would take the Comets that spawn around the map and 1 MP5K each and run while 1 "cat" in the Annihilator armed with 1 M4 and an RPG would try to kill us. When someone dies they turn into the cat. When everyone dies the first one that was killed would be the cat. Pretty fun with 4 of us playing.

I completed my daily objectives yesterday but it hasn't refreshed to new ones for today. Anyone else had/having this issue or know how to fix it?

I get it a lot too. I think the only way to 'fix' it is to just wait for them to renew. Luckily it doesn't affect any consecutive days/weeks progress. At least, in my experience it didn't.

Define yesterday. When did you do them?

Except the K is clearly much shorter and has a (built in?) foregrip. The SMG is just a modified MP5 without a stock.
Either way, when playing IV I've always thought of it as the MP5K
