As would I. But increase the damn health. I could shoot someone in the leg, and they would barely limp away in Red Dead. In GTA sometimes they stand back up and go at full sprint.

I just want to wound officers, not kill them.

I'd prefer a dead enemy than a pacified one, especially in a game where everyone's managed to conceal a typical inventory found in your local Ammunation behind their panties, so to say.

You can do that in IV. It's kinda funny to watch a NOOSE officer cycle through all of his weapons before he pulls out a regular pistol.

Today i played GTA IV on my PS3 and used a baseball bat on some big fat cop who was carrying a Pistol...i tried to hit him and the gun just flow away from his hands and he had to beat me up using his fist (it was 2 wanted stars BTW). He just couldn't catch me...

They carried a carbine (helicopter gunners used the machine gun in TBOGT and you can get them to drop it), an SMG, a pump-action shotgun, and a pistol.

I liked IV because you could just keep shooting someone and they would actually react to you shooting them. In V if you shoot someone they don't really react to it, they just keep shooting.

I just had a strange thing happen to me.
One of my daily objectives was to hold up a store - easy. I go in the store and pull out my pistol, take aim at the cashier. Whilst he is filling the bag with my money I noticed that somebody outside the store was shooting at me. No police in the area yet and no red dots on the map (I was in a solo session). I quickly grabbed my money and hopped into my armoured Kuruma. The person who was shooting at me was just a random woman off the street - not a security guard/police or gang member - a crazed housewife with a gun. Shooting at ME! Well, I got out and ruined her with my auto shotgun. Made me chuckle afterwards but then I got to thinking about it.
Who was she? Some kind of undercover agent or a ballsy vigilante?

I know they can in run dry in IV. Not sure about the cheating AI in this game.

Well, auto-aim and a seemingly infinite amount of ammunition isn't too crazy. They rarely fire weapons in full automatic this time, so at least there's that.

I camped in the Bob Mulet glitch area waiting out a 4-star with no more armor, no more food, half bar health and no vehicle nearby...and the same two cops with shotguns kept firing up at me from street level for a good 20 minutes before I decided to bite the bullet (er...shot). Could be they can run out but this is the closest I've gotten to seeing it and they didn't.

It's possible that they spawn with the maximum amount with ammo. Shotguns are pretty slow.

Well, I would like to know how to become such an efficient sniper with the Carbine Rifle like the gunners on the side of police Mavericks and take down just about anything with a Pistol like the NOoSE teams on Grangers.

Sometimes when robbing a store a random NPC will spawn outside with a pistol and shoot you.

They are coded as heroes.. they are random npcs that try to "help".... but that rarely works out.
